bastards happy turkey day to you my friend thank you for not including me with the
bastards well I mean the bastards know who they are I thought I was lumped into that and then you then you you welcomed
me as well well then a Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends as well but the bastards you know who you are I
bought a new Christmas tree yesterday what's that have to do with turkey day are you skipping Thanksgiving
no no I would never dare do that Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday of them all it is one of the few
holidays that features football it's one of my favorite days of football you get
three good NFL games and they don't overlap so you get to watch all three well didn't they do some college games
last year maybe not on Thanksgiving but yeah night before or something I bet you
there's some Black Friday College action going on but I love the pro games on Thanksgiving because often I watch a lot
of pro football with other people you know like at bars or with people that I'm mainly at bars yeah but but people
that I'm he has a problem I'm kind of friends with but the thing I like about Thanksgiving is I get to watch football
games with people that I'm very close to right so that's more fun so yeah new Christmas tree for uh the colonel I've
been rocking the same sad Christmas tree for the last like I don't know 12 years
or something so it's overdue my friend I got a new one too oo it's only about this tall though all right well well
that's bad pod but it's we'll get drunk and compare Christmas trees only about 5
in or so maybe it's no no I think it's a total of 19 in maybe okay I bought one of those uh Charlie Brown Christmas
trees oh yeah nice yeah cuz I'm you know what the hell am I going to hang at Christmas tree for well I told you that
I wanted to uh to do this with you I wanted to go through some of my this is kind of this is kind of an easy way for
Nick to go through some of his email um but something interesting along the way happened um I noticed that and you
probably get this too because a lot of people that will email me copy and you or they address things to both of us MH
and so I noticed that I was getting like a lot of questions regarding just kind of you know random things that we may
have covered on the show at some point or just you know thoughts and opinion type things and I thought well you know
what I'm going to compile a list of these and I'm going to ask the captain for his thought thoughts and insights
into these items but before we get into that just a couple couple quick things here Captain was quick sponsors last
week we featured the Brianna maitlin case MH and we talked quite a bit about the uh the vehicle being towed and you
know should the police or should the sheriff have contacted the owner of the vehicle which would not have been Briana
would have been registered to her mother right um and which would have triggered
oh my daughter is missing yes they probably would have found out any depending on what report you read 2 3 4
days earlier that she was actually missing right and who knows what that would have done for the actual
investigation but I did have a couple people email me um first Tim and uh we also have uh Jacob so these two guys
basically emailed me the same thing stating that they were they found some information online stating that the
protocol for abandoned vehicles in the state of Vermont is that the toe company will send a form to the DMV right I have
30 days to contact correct so there is some form of notifying the owner but as we went into it's it's too damn
difficult to make it the police you know the police job to notify the owner no I'm just saying it would have been nice
but it didn't happen and and also in every Department there's different protocols so there's a lot of times that
things that we think are nob brainers or all that should be you know the cops should be doing that well again we've
talked to plenty of cops and one of the things they probably a big criticism on the show is hey protocol is different in
every department so you know when you're overworked and underst staffed you're not going to go above and beyond
on every case it's just not going to happen the other thing too that I'm getting a lot of email for is the there
might be some movement on the Long Island serial killer case and actually yeah before I started getting these
emails text yeah you and I started talking about this before I received anything so uh the the the gist of that
is that they are pushing to get the 911 call the Shannon Gilbert 911 call released to the public so we would be
able to hear the entirety of the the call and if I remember correctly I don't think we've actually heard much of the
call if any actual parts of the call at all but other people have listened to it
and told said publicly this is what I hear yeah and once that comes out I think we'll just do a whole episode just
on that that call dissecting it what we think it means and and go on from there we've actually covered Long Island
serial killer probably what would you say four maybe five episodes mhm well I mean if you count the stuff that we did
with Joshua Zan on his documentary you know probably five times six times because what was interesting about that
case among a bazillion other things is we covered it in our first season and then it was a pretty ongoing and active
investigation from that point forward so there was times that we naturally uh Revisited that case and you know what's
crazy I thought kind of that that we had done maybe done it too much or really focused in on it too much right I've
received a ton of emails saying hey it's time for another Long Island serial killer episode it's time so we'll put
you know 2019 is upon us and and the captain and I uh in the garage Army are starting to lay out 2019 starting to
look at cases for that year and we can certainly put that on the calendar at some point well like probably will be if
the tapes are released especially yes let's just get those tapes released so we can talk about it um are you
surprised that here we are in November and in October we talked about the jimie Claus case the missing girl are you
surprised that with the amount of national attention this case has received are you surprised that we don't
have a conclusion yet or we haven't found Jamie I mean sort of I mean the fact that the FBI is involved but you
would think that there would be something that come out earlier than than has but
uh it could be a lot more Sinister than than we believe mhm so I think when when
they do know what happened um I think people will be shocked by the details do you think
anything do you think that the police the investigators working the case know a lot more than what they're saying or
that they have a general good idea of what they think went down at the house that night and how it went down no but I
think in every case I mean it would be safe to assume law enforcement is holding a lot of things close to their
chest which case that remains unsolved surprises you more the Missy beavers case or the deli murders because both
cases we have a situation where we have video footage of the perpetrator um I I'm I'm a little
shocked that both of them are not solved more I think for me more so the deli one
because of the we can hear the voice right and I think the difference between the two is the person in the Missy
beavers security footage it's very likely like it's it's so incredibly likely that that's the actual killer but
we've never had anybody tell us straight up yeah but we know right connect the dots I mean but with her case we don't
you know uncertainty as to the gender of the perpetrator and then Deli we we can see the individual's face
we can see the bridge guy's face we can see his clothing some of the stuff's a little difficult to make out but we also
have his voice his words but I think a lot of that is misinformation on the internet I mean you when you arrest
somebody in Colorado it makes it seem like this person is connected it seems like well now the case is solved a lot
of people stop doing what they were doing before and searching I mean we had thousands and thousands of armchair
detectives looking into leads that that caused um law enforcement to arrest over
200 individuals and a lot of those were unregistered sex offenders so there was tons of stuff as far as you want to talk
about new law enforcement the law enforcement came from podcasting and and people listening to the podcast and then
taking things into their own hands and doing research on the internet so I I think when you have misinformation out
there people stop working a case and I you know I I think I mean you could put Jamie Clawson in there as well I mean
those are three cases that I think there should be enough leads and evidence that
they could be solved but those three we kind of remain stagnant on but which one
do you think is more surprising that it's not Sol I think Deli but that's because of the victim's age mhm I mean I
think anytime that there's kids involved there's going to be more of a public outrage if something's not solved it's
interesting that you say that because I have to agree with that thinking in this aspect that you would
think if let's say you know mathematically what we're told is most of the time the the killer knows the
victim the victim knows the killer right and given that aspect of of both of these crimes you would think that the
deli case that because they're younger that maybe their circles are a little smaller and with with Missy beavers
being an adult who traveled who had her own you know business her own friends and all this stuff in a much longer life
well and she's going through a lot of weird stuff with her marriage as well right so her circle's much bigger much
larger harder to sift through those people well I mean I think that's more evidence that these girls in Deli in the
deli murders didn't know their attacker I'm starting to think given the amount of time that has passed I'm starting to
think that this guy is like he does live anywhere around there oh but I mean there's there's a lot of stuff to do
with the the train station and and multiple uh places where truckers could park and then walk so I mean this person
could be in California for all we know the the other difficult thing about the Missy beavers case is I I I don't
believe her husband's a dummy I I believe he has um a bit of sense to that guy and I think
he and so not just law enforcement trying to solve the case but but his brains as well it's pretty surprising
that that one is it I mean and we also have weird you know you have somebody that's dressing up and full and full
SWAT gear so very strange do you prefer well-known cases or lesser known cases for us to cover
lesser known cases I mean one of the things that I was going to talk to you about um you know it just sometimes we
get criticism about covering a case that a lot of other shows have covered but what
I've told everybody you know we try to keep our blinders on we're true crime garage we're not we're not focusing on
other shows we just got to try to do the best we can and when we get suggested a
case time and time again eventually we try to it's it's a way of saying hey thank you
for listening and we're listening to you and we want to create a show that entertains you as as well as informs but
for me lesser known cases one because it it shed some light on them but also unsolved cases for me because you have a
chance to do something good in the world maybe you get somebody talking maybe the
police get a lead because you covered um a case that went cold right and you know what though that's that's
key because I think most of the people get this but like you said we do get some criticism and it's actually a it's
a bit of a bee in my Bonnet man it kind of pisses me off a little bit because we'll get little Birdhouse in your soul
we have you know hey everybody's covered this case or um you know I would prefer
to hear the solved cases cuz there's a conclusion there's an ending and the thing is like you just said we kind of
let the request steer the garage ship well we and we used to not we would get requests and we' just kind of steer our
own ship I mean and then every now and then throw in a request but I think we've been maybe allowing too many
requests if that makes any sense because there's a bunch of Unsolved cases and a
bunch of unknown cases that you know about that maybe it's like yeah we're getting a bunch of people wanted to talk
about Scott Peterson but maybe we should just skip that one and focus on an unsolved case that maybe nobody's
talking about we did kind of put it off I think we did I mean but that put it I mean we put it off on what I mean by
that is put off covering it for that same thought oh yeah too many people have covered this there's you know well
when we started the show I had no interest in that case at all and it was probably the number one case other than
John B Ramsey that was requested to me mhm and it wasn't until I heard a very interesting interview on um the Adam
crawler show and talking to his lawyer that made me go hey I should just look into this a little bit and after
Googling it to me it's one of the most fascinating cases I've ever looked into so I'm glad that we had the time to
cover that but again does that take away from a missing person that maybe we could shine some light on their case or
or murder victim that we could get people talking yeah I think Michael Peterson it's weird that um how we kind
of came up with that together but Michael Peterson for me is probably the one the request that I received the most
yeah I mean that one but but what I'm saying is from the beginning Scott Peterson it wasn't till recently once
they put the staircase with a couple new episodes back onto Netflix once it went
back on to Netflix it was just like a Floodgate open mhm like cover this case cover this case and it which is
interesting cuz we've talked about this before like you just watched a documentary on this like but but people
are interested in what our thoughts or ideas or can we uncover something that people aren't talking about I don't know
if I'm well who gives a [ __ ] um I was going to say I don't know if I should say this but this is off the Record so
who gives a [ __ ] that's the point of the show Aphrodite Jones do you know Aphrodite Jones yeah so she emailed me
like months ago and said hey uh are you guys planning to cover Michael Peterson or the Michael Peterson case or could
you have me on and we'll just talk about it and I thought what's the angle because you know she's she's got a TV
show she puts out books every now and then I would have liked to talk to her fantastic me too I was like I emailed
her back I was I was kind of you know what I mean cuz we've had the opportunity to meet a lot of people
that we wouldn't have otherwise you know other than you know not for not this podcast but rarely sorry James rener am
I like really giddy to reply to somebody like oh cool you know um so I emailed her back very quickly and we traded
several emails back and forth and this was actually before you and I even said that we were going to cover the Michael
Peterson thing so I was trying to figure out if she had an angle you know she was
releasing a new book or if it was on her TV show or or whatever right I couldn't
really find that and and actually her words to me were no I just want to talk about Michael Peterson because she was
pissed off about the new Netflix uh shows that came out she's very convinced that he's guilty as hell
and she was looking for an outlet to go on and kind of that rant right right and
so I really had her on that would have been nice well no we did talk about it but it didn't it just never came through
I think what happened is she Googled us and then she's like I thought they were better looking oh that's probably what
happened that's what her publicist told me is that if we were better looking she
would have came on our show well I don't know about that but um no I'm joking about that uh no sometimes we get
contacted by especially a lot of TV people with ideas or they want to uh they have an idea for a show that they
just want to kind of put past us right and and the funny thing is sometimes you call them and you talk for about 20
minutes and like this is fascinating stuff can you talk to this other guy for me next week and you're like yeah I mean
I can but I don't don't want to spend every night talking about your idea uh but then normally things fizzle out
anyways so do you get a lot of emails about the Kelsey shelling case that's the one with um with she has the baby
daddy Dante and and he's likely well I think I think we outwardly said on our show that
we believe right that he was the last one to see her and his mother was arrested I don't I want to believe that
one of one of them was released uhhuh um yeah we I don't get a lot of emails about it but I remember speculating that
maybe she that Dante's mother was kind of The Mastermind of whatever happened or or kind of pushed the envelope for
something to happen I'm not certain why it's a it's an interesting case of course and of course we want Justice for
Kelsey and and her family um but I don't know why I get email after email about wanting more opinion on on that
case and to cover it again and yeah and maybe we're we weren't BL blatant enough
with the fact that felt he was guilty I mean look he she goes to see this guy doesn't tell anybody really and cell
phone pings all the technology is there that she saw him mhm and then they had a
conversation then he makes up some nonsense story that can't be there's no evidence of the story he claims they
went to a hospital well we got surveillance tape of the hospital and you never showed up so it like that
where his story doesn't line up he's definitely telling lies his you know like you said good possibility the mom's
involved that's the one where the guy I think the the the phrase that somebody tried to make famous from our show was
the the guy comes creeping out from around the back of the Walmart was that case yeah um you know what's weird
though it you said maybe we weren't blatant enough at least two people thought we were blatant enough or or or
or maybe that's that's probably not the right word probably not because I I did get a couple emails that I'm I'm racist
because my opinions on that particular case of course I mean it could only mean that I'm racist if that's what I thought
happened right I got one too about being homophobic well I shouldn't say one I've
several um but so homophobic correct me if I'm wrong that means you're like afraid of of homosexual people right
that doesn't mean you like hate them it means you're like afraid of them well I think it's kind of both I think flying
both but again I mean that's nonsense yeah but what was weird about that was the the case that we we had
covered and I think that I I mean I think they probably worded this in their email but
if they didn't I have to assume that they're emailing about the most recent story right uhuh and that was the um
The Jasper Texas case Jasper Texas right so we covered that we covered this case
where um there was an individual that claimed to have been raped by other men in prison and following that I get right
I get an email stating that I'm homophobic look if I'm afraid of anything it's being raped by other men
in prison right they need to come up with a term for that like a real word for that um I don't maybe that is
homophobic maybe they had that right I don't think so he's afraid of being raped is that a t-shirt that is that a
t-shirt that nobody wants to wear we could make a t-shirt that says he's afraid of being raped in prison
definition of homophobic no well I mean some sometimes people say stuff and it's
just nonsense and and the hardest thing for me is to remember that um you know the they
they're only seeing a percentage of who you are on the show and and so sometimes people think what
what drives me nuts is when somebody goes oh I just heard you say the most misogynistic
thing and then they start they keep listening back to old episodes and then I get a I'm sorry I just heard you say
the most oh the most uh Pro female thing I've ever heard any man say you know you get
that a lot you get that a ton which I think is is interesting because you do kind of come at different things from
different angles and it does kind of present it takes a while to kind of present the whole story of you uh in in
a sense and you're right you do get a lot of apologies later I get some apologies later but I think I think the
the trouble I get into meaning like emails that I don't really agree with right um I think I feel like those are
just like knee-jerk reaction emails like they heard something that I said and I was probably talking way too damn much
and they fire off an email and then like 5 minutes later even you know maybe an hour or two later they don't feel the
same they're not so heated not so passionate about whatever it is that they think my opinion was at that time
usually I just try to you know I try to keep an even u a level head about it and
just email back hey look that not my intention man or you know whomever um that was not not my intention to offend
just simply putting an opinion out there and guess what I'm a human being that means sometimes my opinion is going to
be a dumb one I have dumb opinions sometimes yeah sometimes we're just wrong but the the other thing though too
is when you know sometimes you get this nonsense I got this nonsense the other week where somebody said um can't
believe that you brought up Adam croll's show he's a misogynist right and I said
well first of all I don't agree with everything he says but right the in context of what we were talking about is
why I brought up the show and she's like well I agree with that but you know he is a misogynist they yeah fine great I
don't agree with everything he says but what I I I went deeper with this person well let me be more honest with you you
know he actually said something one time that was recorded and somebody put to music and uh you know a lot of these
motivational videos you know people go why would you watch those those aren't going to change anything well I was at a
a CR Crossroads in my life and and this video came on and Adam Corolla said this
thing and I thought it was very empowering and I would credit that as a part of me
trying to get my life back on track and anytime that it would start getting off track I could think about what he was
saying and and imp you know imply that back to my life that's going pretty deep opening up and then then the person goes
what I think you should give yourself more credit okay maybe I should but what what I'm stating to you is when somebody
is at a very low point and somebody says something that really clicks with them they you know that person I'm forever
grateful that he was open and honest enough to say that thing so I'm not going to go around bashing this guy cuz
I don't agree with everything he believes in so you know you know what this is a good a very perfect time for
me to ask you this question I'm jumping around here because of what you just said but this is a question I got and I
thought it was a fantastic one and it is is there a woman in a case that you covered that stands out in your mind for
going above and beyond in either fighting off an attacker or turning someone in or just otherwise being a
badass and maybe it doesn't have to be one that we covered you know that kind of limits you on an answer there I I
think there's tons I mean you know Mary CH Meyer you know just her life in general if that doesn't
inspire you it should inspire you as a female but it should inspire you as a male as well that would be one example
um anytime there's a case that a female gets attacked and then they turn around and put up a fight now they might
lose that fight but what I've told everybody is if you don't fight the chances of them solving your cas
go down considerably well not only that I mean how many times have we been told I mean face to face not covering cases
or covering cases we've been told by law enforcement individuals if you get in the car of a stranger or if you get in
the vehicle of an attacker or would be attacker you're as good as dead right I mean this Ohio State girl went
missing months back and and we I look I'm not saying that if you get the car I'm not trying to victim blame no no no
no it happens no but but but that's advice right but people need to be aware of what law enforcement is say not two
dumb asses that talk into the microphone but it doesn't matter what we say what we're doing is REI relaying the
information from law enforcement and there's a girl that went missing an Ohio State beautiful young girl he picked up
probably forced to be in a car by gun right after she got off work hardworking girl right by a [ __ ] scumbag and then
but there's evidence at the scene where they found her that she there was probably times that she could have took
off running and again now now the cops are not going to sit there and say well maybe if she would have run she'd still
be alive because they don't want a victim blame either but what they want to tell you is they want to tell
everybody if you get in that situation and you're in an open field and this person has a
gun your your chances are better off if you take off running like in that case she had a couple times that she was able
to run and a lot of these people are not great with a gun well even even well before that would be don't get in the
vehicle well I mean I think I think this victim had a gun straight to her head to
go hey get in your car right and but again not victim blaming but me if if I found my God forbid find myself in that
situation God forbid any of us find ourselves in that situation my my thought is I'm going to make this
[ __ ] shoot me in public rather than go anywhere with them because I think once you um as soon as you take yourself
out of public out of you know right then then your your chances just are getting
very bad very quickly yeah and maybe people would say that's irresponsible but I'd say if you're ever attacked
please fight I some people that came to mind uh for me immediately and like you said that there are so many uh women men
in a lot of the cases that we've covered that there there's these these unsung heroes sometimes in a lot of these cases
and sometimes the hero is the victim ultimately you know who knows when we have a serial killer the last victim or
any number of their victims who knows the eventual murders that were stopped because of those people along the way
who knows you know it's it's really endless but the ones that jumped off the page for me were um remember Gina
frenzel who helped us with the dark past episodes she was the one that took down
helped to take down uh Felix Vil who ultimately ended up being a serial killer and and he wasn't caught for
decades after you know she throws herself in the LI in the Lion's Den right inside of his house oneon-one and
took him down and then um someone that I kind of look I kind of badmouth her a little bit but I spoke highly of her too
and somebody that I'll never forget is Norine gosh um Johnny gosh's mother yeah you know um I don't agree with
everything that she says may have happened along the way but what I have seen out of her is she's like a this
huge victim's Advocate you know if when when people have when their child is missing
she's she's drove to other states other cities other states and spent time with the parents and said look this is some
things you can do to in you know Assist in the investigation here's some things you can do to to try to stay positive
here's some things that you can do to try to keep your head up and not you know these are dark days dark days for
these people and she's offering a little bit of light a little bit of help well and I love when people sit there and say
and then on the opposite they you get one email that says you're a misogynist the next one you say oh you're such a
feminist you know well look I'm I don't like to label myself with [ __ ] because I just think you're an
idiot once you start doing that you know but for that's my point of view but am I
Pro you know women hell yeah I am I'm I'm Pro everything Pro women no there shouldn't be any more after we get rid
of all these Vans we're getting rid of all the women yeah but I think I think the term feminist has has got a bad rap
because it's these people that are taking on these issues and they don't exactly know what they're talking about
and and they're blaming people for nonsense so I think Fe the word feminist sometimes gets a bad rap to me it's just
I I'm for everybody in my mind is equal you know you're either a good person well until you prove that you're a piece
of [ __ ] right you're right so you're either a a human being and you're on one level or you're a flaming piece of [ __ ]
a flaming piece of [ __ ] yeah like Randy M man no no no dude this one of my heroes no I'm saying like that's how he
would say that's how he would say it I don't he wasn't a piece of [ __ ] I don't
think um no evidence of that what about a flying flaming piece of [ __ ] flying flaming piece of [ __ ] because now not
only is like the a flaming piece of [ __ ] is the worst kind of piece POs to be well but a flying flaming piece of [ __ ]
is the most dangerous that's a dangerous yeah if you ever get attacked and you have a flying flaming piece of [ __ ] that
you can throw at a piece of [ __ ] that other piece of [ __ ] will catch on fire
oh if you just happen to have one I just happen to have a flaming you know you might have had a lot of Taco Bell that
week well this this is really gone bad uh the other one that I and I don't know the name and I'm probably going to get
some criticism for this but in the teror grinstead case you had a situation where
um bod dues um confessed to rough roughly about seven people throughout the time of
um from the time that the what he claims happened to the to Tera grinstead what was that to to what
happened to terara grinstead yeah to what happened with Tera grin said to the time that they arrested Ryan
Duke he confessed a lot of people yes sometimes he was drunk but it wasn't until the girl he was
seeing basically said I got to give this info to somebody I have to give this info to somebody and I think on top of
that she was smart enough when the gbi said hey let's wire you let's try to get him right she said that's not going to
work I need to be honest with him and she was honest with them hey I went to them you need to come forward you need
to have this be over with now that's a good one I forgot about her now we don't know what the end result of that is
going to be yeah but at the end of the day it's because and and lot look it's not just
about being strong it's also about being honest and saying hey I have to do the right thing here I care about you but I
have to do the right thing and and I think there I wish there was more people like that and it's it's a [ __ ] shame
that you know some of these podcasters have no problem with throwing innocent people under the bus and talking a bunch
of [ __ ] about them at the end of the day that you know is she lying about a couple things who knows right but let's
let's in all fairness this problem came to her she wasn't the problem so when this problem
was presented to her she stepped up to the plate and she tried to do the right thing and I think she tried to do the
right thing for Terry grinstead so you know I think people should give more credit to people like that and that's
one of the reasons why people don't come forward about [ __ ] it's CU they're like
well I'll be thrown under the bus or maybe they won't believe me and they'll think I'm involved in the murder somehow
so you know I think we need to applaud that but I mean there's I mean there's just
case after case after case where there's examples of people especially women uh it's just
inspiring you know where you go I need to be more like that do you think that it's more what do you think happens more
often people afraid of the the fear of turning someone in that could go in be involved in that or the fear of being
implicated or being thought to be a part of whatever happened I think probably the latter but
I mean I think we have a real problem in this country with truth and honesty you
know there's and I don't want to get into tin hat theories but there's so much nonsense that I've read
about that you can read that something really bad happened or something really like unfair happened that you can't even
in your wildest dreams you can't even believe that it happened but then once you find out that it is is true and you
explain it to anybody the the amount of backlash the amount of people that I cannot even talk
to anymore because when we start talking about some issue to go oh yeah did you hear about
this they either immediately think that I'm talking about a conspiracy which I'm
not I'm talking about something that was actually in like the New York Times but
there's so many weird [ __ ] happening and all this truth that comes out that I just don't think people want
the truth half the time they just want to move past it if if that makes any sense I think you lost me a little bit
on that no what I mean is that there's there's certain things that happen where it's
like um something something um I I just think people don't want to really know the truth about certain
matters and so it's easier for them to dismiss something as being nonsense or dismiss something as you
know I mean look at the uh Kena Jenkins case that's a scenario where looks like all the evidence
points to an accidental death now I believe that the hotel is responsible for that because when the mother of the
the child that died shows up an hour or so within her being missing and says my daughter's in this hotel we need to go
look for her and you don't and then you find her hours later in your freezer I think there's some neglect there but you
know we covered that case and as odd as that case is people just didn't people don't want to believe that
story MH it just doesn't sit well with them well you know when the family does an investigation as well and they
basically say yeah the investigation that we did matches the investigation the police
did how many more times do you want need do you need to hear that for you to believe that that's the
truth that's that would be example of things well we did help stir the pot on that one because we I know at least I
said that I believe her friends quote unquote friends uh had some kind of involvement in what her ultimate demise
ended up being well and there's no doubt that she looked she looked heavily intoxicated or
heavily drugged and but it makes you question stuff man it really starts making you question things when you go
well the the autopsy disc didn't prove that evidence MH but it it makes you question
things when I mean look at the staircase you know Michael Peterson you have blood evidence that
was completely phony so then you Wonder in the Kena Jenkins case yes her family agrees that
it was accidental death and then and then the uh law enforcement thought it was accidental death what if that
toxicology report is just complete [ __ ] you know I mean M we don't know uh but you have to take what they give
you and and then try to come to a conclusion but then what if you found out 5 years later that that toxicology
report was complete [ __ ] and she was uh minutes from dying from from drugs well the but the thing with the
toxicology report doesn't mean that somebody didn't slip or something right you know what I mean like it that's the
whole thing like if if it it's an accidental death I get that I get her you know her family did an investigation
investigation the police did an investigation and I get that it's ultimately ruled an accident but
sometimes accidents happen for a reason and in my opinion here is there there is
some blame specifically in that case to be passed and pushed around and do I think that maybe one individual or a
group of individuals is ultimately uh you know to to blame 100% for her death no right I don't think
that but I think that there is some percentage of of blame to be pushed and passed around specifically specifically
in that case like you know even even the person and here's the thing I'm sure I'm
sure that there's some people that were at that party that night that feel pretty bad maybe all of them do for all
I know because of what ended up happening but at the end of the day there is there was someone there was a
group of people that saw her in that state and chose to do nothing chose to just let her be yeah and that's that's
why I think there're many cases that we do I mean think about it this way man in
that case if the mother would have showed up and there was just some decent [ __ ] human being behind that desk if
a mother came to me and said hey my daughter's missing I think she's in the hotel MH I could sit on my fat ass for a
little bit longer or maybe I could go hey let me try to help find her right and yes is it a big hotel yes but it's
not that big I mean you work Security in a very big building mhm but if if a lady
in panic that was talking with you with she talked to them with respect right they're showing you would have helped
her um there's a difference though because of a couple things and this might fall
into the area of the hotel and what their duties are as well my heart 100% of the time would tell me to help this
individual my mind may not let me help the individual well see that's I mean maybe that's where we differ but I
just couldn't live with myself if somebody asked for my help and I believe that they needed my help and I didn't
take the time to just you know hours later when that girl was found frozen to death mhm I I don't think I could live
with myself and I understand that there's rules and policies no I'm not talking about but I want to be clear
about something because I think I think you you've blurred the lines here and what you've asked me you know you said
you worked at a at a large building if someone came to you and asked you for your help you would have helped them and
what I'm saying is that what that means to me in that question is me at that time of my life in that specific
situation right and what I mean by that is I didn't work at a hotel and I didn't
work in just any old big building I worked in a building where the majority of where you know the people that
occupied that building expected a certain level of privacy and therefore that puts me in a
whole different boat a whole different set of circumstances than the individual that was at the hotel in Chicago the
night that Kena Jenkins made her way into that freezer well right but again you could then if it's just you and a
superior officer running security well if there is a girl that shouldn't be in the building that is a risk to the
people that live there and that's a risk of invasion of privacy to them so I still think you'd go look for her no I
would go look for her you but what I'm what I'm getting at is in this in the and I think we're probably going through
dragging people through this way too much but the way that I took the question was you worked in a building if
some girl some woman came to you and asked you for help to to find the person that's in your building to find someone
that may or may not supposed to be in the building is different than just coming to me and asking me about someone
that lives that's what I meant resides in the building what I meant is if that lady came to you if Kena Jenkins mother
came to you and said my my daughter's here somewhere I've been told that she's somewhere in your building and I think
she's her friends have left if I remember the situation but all I'm saying is that that's you go yeah okay
I'll help you let me help you look for your daughter even at that hour I could have I could have I could have really um
been able to narrow down where that individual was fairly quickly I mean and without even leaving
the desk and I'm not saying that the person behind that desk doesn't think about that decision a million times cuz
sometimes people that are really good people follow protocol follow a policy and they might feel bad about it
I think that's possible so I call of course it's possible so well I'm I'm calling him a
horrible person and and and if they're listening you know you are not the sum of of one bad decision so um I don't
want them to feel worse for me like yelling at them that person's not listening they might they might listen
to anything that that talks about the case cuz they feel so bad no I think that's you know
it's I don't know that's other thing I'm surprised by too is a lot of these cases
where maybe somebody could have helped that didn't help you know there there's been plenty of those as well oh yeah
yeah so many of them and but I think I think the important thing here you know to keep in mind and you and I obviously
do this it's easy for us to do it because we're talking about ourselves but the thing is with True Crime garage
we you and I have never claimed ever to be brilliant individuals to be uh incredibly smart guys all we have ever
claimed to be is to be the sharpest tools in the garage well yeah yeah we're definitely tools um no but it's like and
that's the other thing we were talking about before I mean we learn more and and you'll see
patterns in cases probably more than some people would but that's just because of the amount of cases that we
covered but you know even if we do this show for another 10 15 years I'll never consider myself an expert no and and and
actually I welcome um I love when I get an email and someone points out something in a
case and it's something you know cuz we sit with these cases for or depending on
what's going on in the garage 4 to 7 Days right before we record them so you kind of think you do get to a point
after a while that you're like man I've been in and up and down and all around this thing and then you get an email
like two days after you covered it and you're like [ __ ] how how did I miss that
something so simple or that's a way better Theory than I had yeah and my response to most of the time you know
and I say response I do try to I do try to respond to the polite emails that I receive right if someone's a someone's a
jerk sorry man well you catch more Colonels with with honey that's right we're suckers for for honey but um we're
really into the honey the the response I often send when people and I don't know how great of an
idea or thought that they thought it was before sending it to me but I'm always like man I I wish you would have put
this on the blog because that's what the whole deal with the blog is that's like
that's the place to for people to throw out their ideas yeah don't share the idea with us share it with everybody it
doesn't go very far if you email me your thought or email me and say hey I disagree with you extra crispy Colonel
right you know it goes a much better way if we get it on the blog because then it's a discussion and
it with the exception of somebody that posts something you know like when we have like five or six seven pages of
posts and somebody will post something and you're like yeah uh four other people said that exact same thing
already you got read the blog some of them don't read some of them don't read they just post yeah sometimes people
just need to vent you know yeah rant their Theory that's no problem I'm going to start a hotline where people can call
me after the show the Tony Romo hotline yeah yeah it's kind of like but OB be with the captain MH um but the same idea
and I'll be on a beach maybe in the offseason Tony might need some here's what I want to [ __ ] know okay all
right shoot I know it go ahead you know it I know the answer go ahead okay let's
see if you know the answer Hot Shot sharpest tool in the garage right here so I watch the documentary muscle
shs okay Blown Away blows me away he loves it blows me out of the water love it so much that I actually
tried to find now if one of the buildings were for sale okay it's not it was bought by Dr Dre and Jimmy aen okay
within the next couple weeks what do I get sent a jar of H oh that's the honey the
muscle shs honey from Fame Studios oh no yeah and I cannot figure out who sent me the honey from there no
cards with it I it be well here's the did you reference muscle muscle shs on the show before did receiving the honey
I don't know you didn't order it did you I didn't order and then black out and forget no I I wouldn't ever but here's
the thing if somebody works there somebody lives around there whoever sent me the honey I will drive down and hang
out with you in muscle sh studi if I can figure out who gave me the damn honey you ever put honey on
biscuits I Don't Like Biscuits but if you give me some honey on a biscuit I will eat the biscuit well maybe just
like the honey do you ever put some honey on the biscuit you ever put some of that honey on a hot
doggy I like when the you have the biscuit with the butter a little honey and then you know like a blackberry jam
or strawberry jam I like this is I like uh Cherry preserves from like different parts of of uh Michigan cuz you know
they have like different cherries up there than what we have here all right this is just getting way out of hand
we've had too much uh we've had too much turkey gravy we've had too much to drink
and not enough to eat apparently let's just do this um well out question I got two question
I got two questions for you okay what is your favorite um let the records show that I was unable to answer the honey
question that I guaranteed didn't answer yeah I guaranteed an answer all right but please write me if you if you sent
me the honey from Fame Studios okay here's I got you're going to get a bunch of jerks that are like it was me that
sent you the honey I love you Captain you're so much cooler than the extra crispy Colonel yeah that homophobic
Colonel uh yeah that that's the other nonsense too I mean side note when well somebody will say uh and I've had people
say oh yeah the colonel sounded very homophobic I maybe I do I don't know that's not my intention yeah well they
say the Colonel's homophobic or if they say the captain's homophobic I go we covered this case about Joey Leb which
Nick was the one that said hey this case come out we we need to cover this yeah and this is all centered around
heartbreaking case yeah it's sent around um a homosexual male and and we thought
it was very important to cover this case to try to get some information so we could try to get this solv get people
talking about this and this also centered around an area of a town that both Nick hang out Nick wow Jesus I
drank way too much but Nick has hung out in this area of town I've hung out in it
a lot and then there's a bar called the union bar which for a while I think it was
known as a gay bar and now I think it's more were just known as gay friendly the probably the number one bar
that I went to last year was the union but that's because several of my friends are lesbians or and you know well
you're sorry sorry well now you you now you've gone too far now I sound homop homophobic because I said sorry I
followed that up with a sorry yeah no but the thing is it's like so I should have followed up with the you're a w
you're welcome right but we can't sit there and detail and say okay we're talking about this bar Union and by the
way the captain's been to it 5 million times I mean I don't care if it's a gay bar or straight bar what what I like
what I like about is they encourage dancing and they don't they don't care and they don't care what level of skill
you have so if you're at a one they actually you'll get shots bought you for you just because you're you're giving it
a go making a good attempt giving showing some effort okay here's my two questions for
you Colonel okay Thanksgiving what is your favorite drink doesn't have to be beer but what's your
favorite turkey day or around this time of year drink what's your goto oh around this time of year or
turkey day cuz that's two different things either one I mean most days okay so like if I'm drinking the
majority of the time I drink beer um and it varies you know what kind of beer that I'm drinking
but this time of year because it gets cold in Ohio I tend to drink higher alcohol beers or thicker heavier beers
um I don't know why I just like those better you know when it's 90° I like a I like a crisp lighter beer right refh
something that has a little bit yeah a little refreshing to it now specific Al Thanksgiving day I have a whole
different operation that I do and it's taken me years to find out what the perfect mix is
so I will typically start Thanksgiving um wherever the festivities are whatever time they start I prefer an earlier
Thanksgiving Day celebration opposed to an evening some people were like thanksgiving's dinner I'm like well it
didn't have to be man I'm off work we can start when ever her so usually I'll bring a bottle of red wine I like I like
a couple glasses of red wine to start off the day mhm for Thanksgiving I like a couple bottles of wine to start off
the day well it's a bit of a marathon between the food and the drinking and the hanging out for me on Thanksgiving I
like I like my Thanksgiving Day to last from about 11:00 a.m. to about 11:00 p.m. and I'm going to try to eat drink
and be merry the whole whole time sounds good okay so then what are you most thankful for this
Thanksgiving o um cranberry wow [ __ ] you put me on the spot here you know obviously the first thing that that
jumps to mind would be our listeners the True Crime garage Army you know that's that's what jumps to my mind
immediately um but you know what I what for some reason this has been bouncing around in my mind for like the past
couple weeks I've also thought about all the friends that that you and I have made and acquaintances that you and I
have made along the way since we started this thing yeah back in my hot garage 90° with not good equipment sweating
sweating and my nipples would Sweat Nobody listening to the show and it's been really it's been really interesting
to me all the people we have met along the way I mean [ __ ] I just told you a story today of getting an email from
Aphrodite Jones yeah uh um now I guarantee you she probably doesn't remember emailing me unless she listens
to the Show often who knows she was probably drunk fairness to her but you know we've
met many people in and not so much you know she's celebrity not so much celebrity right what I mean is people
involved in the cases that we've discussed right and so this can be victim's families we've had suspects
we've had suspects fam we've had all kinds of people along the way uh some of them very mean and angry
and others very appreciative for us covering their case and the the tricky thing I think for us is that that I
don't think a lot of people get is the first time that you're contacted by a victim's
family it's it's an Awakening it really truly is because then makes you it makes
you realize it's real it makes you realize it's real and not not the case you knew the case was real but it it
makes almost the show feel real like oh my God right right thank this is so real
that they heard us that they can hear us thank you for clearing that up because that's exactly what I meant because in
the garage when we do the show it's just me and you man it's me and you it's a computer screen it's a keyboard it's a
few different things here but yeah I know I I'm here no I know that but but what I mean by that is that we're in
we're in the studio recording 2 days a week and for many hours each day and sometimes it does
start to feel like for a couple of hours at least you and I might be the only people on the planet right and when you
get an email or a phone call from from a victim's family member father mother brother Uncle you name it we've had it
cousin brother sister hband we've had it all and when you hear from them then from that day forward it's always in the
back of your mind what I'm going to say on this show is going to directly affect someone out
there it could break their heart it could piss them off it could it could make them feel better and all we can do
is tell the story all we can do is collect the information and throw it out there and sometimes yeah we put our our
heart on it we put our our our spin our heartfelt spin on things from from time to time but sometimes we also have to be
brutally honest and it might not be what somebody wants to hear and it's also not
always the information that we feel like we signed up to deliver in the beginning right right
well sometimes there's theories out there where we feel that's important to throw those theories out there if
anybody's looking into the case it gives them a direction to go to even if we think that theory is nonsense cuz we've
seen time and time again with cases the the the that didn't make a lot of sense the first year of investigating started
making more sense the 10th year of the investigation so we do try to throw out all sides that we hear about well to sum
up that answer for you Captain I'm thankful for you I'm thankful for the garage the listeners and all the uh
hardworking people out there that we've met over the short time that we've been doing this and I can't wait to see what
happens next year and the year after and so on and so forth I'm very thankful for
uh my new co-host that starts next week he'll be replacing you okay I'm just joke uh
no yeah am I thankful for True Crime garage listeners yes I am I am but let's let's get in
