Behind the scenes with "48 Hours" composer Richard Fiocca | Forensic Files

My name is Griffg. I'm the founding artistic director of the Back Bay Ringers. We are a community handbell
ensemble here in Boston. [Music] A handbell ensemble is a really unique musical ensemble. We're basically 15
people playing one musical instrument. About a month ago, we received an invitation from 48 Hours reaching out to
us to ask if we would be interested in collaborating for um a musical score that they were planning for an upcoming
story. We've been in contact with Richard the composer. up to this point where our collaboration has been uh
virtual in the sense that I've been sending KF scores and he's been commenting and uh I've been making
adjustments and we finally got it to the place where it needed to be to be recorded.
Let's do a crescendo uh through starting at 36. The story does revolve around a church.
That's what's great about this idea is that it it does lend an atmosphere that there's a religious
theme. And it's also exciting to be working with a composer who hasn't written for
bells in the past. It's not too hard for those of you playing season, you know, d
and to have a composer who is so accomplished um outside of the handbell sort of genre. It's really fun for us to
be able to share our instrument in that way. Everybody ready? Yep. Once we shoot the performance,
these shots will be integrated into the opening of the show and perhaps you know
other parts of the show. I think that the um you know atmosphere that's going to lend another dimension
