Carol Kennedy's sanctuary | Forensic Files

this is the print Studio IAAI Community College in Prescot this is what a lot of
us have come to call our second home it's where Maria Liam and I met Carol Kennedy I've known Carol uh probably for
about 17 18 years she came into the class she was searching for things I can only describe it as a spiritual Quest
and she responded immediately to the process of monoprinting Carol would walk in and just say you guys I am so happy
to be here and she give everybody a hug and it was just a real good feeling this
was someplace where nobody judged her nobody tried to take advantage of her we were all very supportive even though
we're all artists who show our work um we never competed we Embrace each other my first semester of print making Carol
was a lab assistant and she was a tremendous help she kind of got to know you and wanted to know what you wanted
to do it wasn't just a matter of fulfilling the curricula she was more interested in your own personal
experiences and how you could interpret that and bring it to your art and she just had a lot of energy she was a
whirlwind I think in in many ways it was very therapeutic for her it gave her um
a place to go where she could just really be herself and and it becomes a very meditative process it's almost an active
meditation it puts you in that part of your brain where you're just not thinking about anything you're just
responding seeing uh feeling and Carol took right to that so she just started Printing and she was in here constantly
from that point on

Kennedy was known in Prescott, Arizona as an artist. Her friends talk about how much she enjoyed her time in their art studio.
