Days after Sheryl Rucci disappeared, a woman we will call Amy saw Sheryl's photo on the news and believed she recognized her as the woman she had seen sitting inside a stopped car the night Sheryl vanished.
Amy says she immediately contacted police to report what she witnessed. According to Amy, the detective she spoke with told her that Sheryl "wasn't worth looking for" and suggested that Sheryl had gotten herself into the situation.
Sheryl's family says investigators expressed similar views to them during the early stages of the case.
