This week we are very excited to have our friends from the Murder Sheet Podcast joining us in the Garage. The Murder Sheet podcast is hosted by journalist Aine Cain and attorney Kevin Greenlee. The show explores many cases but over the years has had a heavy focus on the Burger Chef Murders and the Delphi Murders. In late August 2025 Aine and Kevin released their Pegasus Crime published book - The Shadow of the Bridge: the Delphi murders and the dark side of the American heartland. They have joined us to talk all things Delphi.

We are running out of True Crime Garage Halloween shirts and hoodies. LIMITED EDITION 2025 HALLOWEEN shirts and other great True Crime Garage swag is available on our website’s “MERCH" page.

Brief Summary

The episode covers the Delphi murders, Richard Allen's confessions, and critiques of the defense team's trial strategy.

Key points

  • Black Phone 2: A Chilling Sequel. Critics hail it as a cold-blooded masterpiece, scarier than the original.
  • The New Direction Press Conference. A pivotal moment in the investigation where police revealed new information.
  • The Mystery of Richard Allen's Phone. The missing phone from the suspect raises questions about the investigation.
  • Misunderstanding Information. People often come to wrong conclusions due to bad information. "It's not really people's fault in a way."
  • Defense Team's Conduct. The defense's approach was criticized as being 'slimeball' and not focused on the client. "They seem to be in it to merchandise themselves."
  • Trial Experience. The media faced challenges getting access to the trial, with long waits and limited seating. "You had to get in line like at 1:00 a.m. for a trial that would begin at 9:00 a.m."
