Hi guys. I cannot believe that I'm saying this, but we are approaching the 6-month mark since Nancy Guthrie was
abducted from her Tucson, Arizona home. So, I want to get our Crime Junkies up to speed with the top five things you
need to know about where the investigation stands now. I'm Britni Whitney, Crime Junkies breaking news
reporter, and for 8 and 1/2 years before I took this job, I was a true crime news
reporter in Arizona at a news station in Phoenix, and I spent months on the ground working on the Nancy Guthrie
investigation in Tucson as this was all unfolding. And I'm still working on it to this day. So, here is what you need
to know. Number one, there have been no arrests and no charges in the actual abduction of Nancy Guthrie. There were
three different people detained early on in the investigation. They were questioned. We don't actually know why
they were detained or why police or detectives believe that they were involved at the time, but they have
since been let go, and there have been no other people detained and nobody else arrested. Number two, DNA testing is
ongoing. You might remember several months ago that there was a black glove that was found on the side of the road
kind of near Nancy Guthrie's home. That was ruled out. The DNA that was found on
that actually matched a nearby restaurant worker uninvolved in the case. We do know mixed DNA that was
found inside Nancy Guthrie's home is in testing right now. They have to actually
split that apart and then see if the unknown DNA profile potentially matches the abductor who we've all come to know
as porch guy, the person who was seen on the video that was released from the Nest video camera. Number three, the FBI
has confirmed that some of the ransom notes in this investigation are still possibly legitimate and still being
investigated as such. There have been a slew of different emails and notes sent to TMZ and Harvey Levin that said, "Hey,
we know who the kidnapper is and there's video on a phone in a secure place that
shows Nancy alive on the last day with her kidnapper." We don't know if any of that is true, but the FBI does say that
some of the ransom notes received are possibly legitimate. Those are likely the two that came into the Arizona news
station in that first week of the case. Number four, Savannah Guthrie, Nancy's daughter, went back to co-hosting the
Today show on April 6th. She was away for a while, of course, searching for her mom, dealing with this entire case,
but she has since been back on air. It's been exceptionally hard for her emotionally. She's talked about the case
and how hard it is to go on, but she is still continuing on in her public-facing
job, which some experts believe is the reason why Nancy Guthrie was potentially a target in the first place. And
finally, number five, there are still more than a million dollars in reward money from the Guthrie family and the
FBI for anybody who can lead to the whereabouts of Nancy Guthrie or who has information that can lead to an arrest.
