yet another sideline along with his wife Cheryl making barbecue sauce this is a jacketed Kettle with a mixer arm that
goes down into the kettle to to mix the sauce these days the operation looks pretty highte with all the shiny
equipment in a shed on their Farm but he started out years ago in college in the
dorm I bought a old pressure cooker with a bad seal so I got a deal on it at a discount store and I'd go down there a
little kitchen in the lobby down there and would just tinker and play it was an immediate hit among his friends oh they
loved it they I mean it's the main thing is that people would dip chips in it after he and Cheryl got married they
cooked it up in their basement and it got even more popular we had one friend of ours has wife said my husband just
drinks the stuff we like well we're glad he likes it what does he put on no literally he comes home opens the jar
and takes a swig out of the jar it's like well that's that's odd but we're we're glad to hear it with both of them
working the barbecue sauce business was just a hobby but as Steve's retirement from law enforcement approached they
decided to create this little Factory we've just kind of built it uh word of mouth and piece by piece but uh it's
it's nice to have a little time to devote to to it now so we're we're trying but farming is always Central to
Steve's World and one day he was chatting with his father-in-law also a farmer who had wanted to name his
daughter after his favorite animal on the farm an old mule no way said Cheryl's mother but it did Inspire one
thing the name of Steve modlins barbecue sauce
