it's been two and a half months since it happened isn't that discouraging what this not finding the person or persons
who did it well it's having been in homicide a while sometimes it takes a while everybody like a quick solution
but uh we've got some homicides that have been on the book for a while does that bother you the thought that it
might be right in front of you right inside your computer no it didn't bother me if they're here and they're in there
we'll get to them and we'll we'll arrest them can you give me some indication of
just how many suspects you've gone through here well okay okay 342 342 people that you want to talk to
in connection with that yeah 342 people that have been uh listed as suspect is the murder of the four girls at the
yogurt shop in there do you think might be there are several that we haven't got
to yet do you have a theory do all of you guys have a like a pet theory of of this
case I don't because that's a why question and you can get lost in a why question you can really get lost I'm
more interested in the who you know I don't like to get into speculation let's hope that this isn't the start of a mass
murder going Coast to Coast uh that's why the FBI seem to think that this guy's probably still
local you know heav help us all if this guy is a a Ted Bundy a mass murder version of Ted Bundy is that a
possibility let's hope not I don't I don't you know I don't think so but then again it's
1992 you know let you know let's let's not be surprised here doesn't that make your job even more crucial and catching
these guys even more important as far as uh you know being crucial to C I don't think it could be
any more crucial uh you know I don't I mean there's absolutely no more weight that can be
put on my shoulders I'm I'm loaded to capacity here we'll get these people caught uh it'll be all I can do I guess
and you know I'm going to ask him because I'm deep down I guess side I'm curious too why the reason I'm asking
why is because I need to tell the families actually what I'm probably going to say is I'm going to say this
look fell fell girls whoever you is let see in a few minutes here I I got to go out and wake
these families up again with this time some good news that part of the agony is over you all of the agon is not going to
be over but just by these people getting caught I'm going to have to go out and and wake him up and and try and give him
some good news in the middle of the night for change now what do you want me to tell them see I don't have to prove
why they did it in court I just got to prove that they did it but you really want to know why somebody would do
something like this everybody wants to know why but you know once again there is no good reason
why there's just an excuse there's just going to be an excuse and it's not going to be a very
good excuse at that society as a whole is not going to accept any plausible reason for this for killing four
kids man
