the city of Austin, Texas, and it weighs heavy on John Jones, the former lead detective in the case. In December of
1991, all four teenagers were murdered inside the yogurt shop where they worked. The killers then set that store
on fire. When I first met John shortly after the murders, it was evident just how much this case mattered to him. He
had two daughters of his own. He wanted to bring the family peace and he wanted to bring the killer or killers to
justice. Even decades later in 2022, you could still feel his passion. It is one of the
longest investigations I've covered. But John Jones has still not given up hope.
