Surveillance cameras covered nearly every part of Gilbert Air. But according to investigators, there was one critical area without coverage: the office space where the initial struggle occurred.

When officers reviewed the footage, they were able to confirm key parts of the timeline. Two suspects entered the building, one carrying what appeared to be a box of Freon. Investigators later noted the box had been altered and used to conceal a weapon.

Audio from the footage captured yelling and a disturbance off camera, believed to be coming from the office. Moments later, Nicholas “Nick” Cordova is seen running into the lobby toward the front door.

What happened next was captured on video.
