Today is to honor not only Amy, but you for everything that you've done for the Wideners
and everyone you see here today because it's not just one family that was affected by Amy's death. And you've
given us more than you'll ever be able to imagine. And on behalf of everyone here, I say
thank you from the bottom of our hearts. November 13th, 1989. For many, this day has no meaning. But
for us, it was so heart-wrenching. The years have passed, but the hurt will not. Our beloved taken in the blink of
an eye. For over 22 years, we never understood why. The one who found this beast was not expected in the least.
He is the man in blue and he looked at every clue. His name is Detective Carter and he is not one to barter.
One goal set in mind. He knew that he could find. Justice for a young teen is what he wanted to be seen. He kept the
promise he made and our gratefulness shall never fade. The mystery has been solved and justice for Amy has been
resolved. In our lives he will remain. A friend is what he has become.
