we've got police officers all around your house we get a fire this will be our next
customer right here please they decide to hurt themselves you're not going to because there isn't
one why are you stopping I mean you drove up to it you crashed right now you're under arrest for being
an idiot okay if you mind we don't need to be on the news tonight or like yourself you're very
poor police [Music] program contains actual police footage no reporters no recreations
foreign okay we're just on route to the 3400 block of Kingsway it appears as though
there's a fellow been shot twice in the leg um we don't really have much of information right now except the fella
that's phoning seems Seems to know the guy that's been shot that's all the information we have right now
please specify the hours what do you mean by evening hours right you know so this has been going on for some time and
foreign [Music] right now all we know is that he was at at the address on Aberdeen Street and
some kind of argument broke out over the washing and it appears that his roommate shot
him twice in the right leg um judging by the size of the holes in his leg it would appear as though it's a
pellet gun of some kind however the victim says that the gun when it discharge made very loud noise
so I would doubt that it's a pellet guns okay right now we're just gonna head over to the Aberdeen Street address
where the shooting apparently happened the emergency response team is is starting to set up on the address right
now and I guess you're just going to try and contain it and find out if the suspects
actually in there as you can see straight ahead the suspect's already in custody the older
gentleman with the blue shirt emergency response team has just cleared the house in the garage and are
currently looking for the weapon that this guy may have used on the victim s on using the laundry facilities after
hours [Music] [Music] come back tomorrow when it's late [Music] Nursery he kept knocking on my window
I should have called 9-1-1 right the first time you don't have any sort of weapon dude
ways nothing you're gonna search it I'm a victim with a several shots to his leg here's to be a pelican
to cover the CO2 handgun from him he's indicating that the same sort of thing there
this doesn't appear to have been fired what are you okay pellet guns yeah [Applause]
I don't know maybe he had one note that maybe he shot himself I mean he was that
strong out this is the gun recovered from the victim he had it in his bag here um we're not sure if this is the one
that's actually used to shoot him but apparently the two wounds in his leg appear to be a small enough caliber that
might be from a pellet gun thing it wasn't your bed you just told me you had no guns I'm sorry I forgot
about that are there any other guns in there I think there's a shotgun with that
under the bed yeah what else that's it is there a handgun under there no uh so the shotgun's under the bed I
believe there is unless I've thrown it out and I forget now that's it okay [Applause]
it really sort of help us if you can remember mailing this much detail because what we have is we got his story
and we got your story and we're trying to figure out what what sort of happened here
both stories are a little bit conflicting if you just sort of think about what happens when I just sort of fill us in
here help us piece it together it's stupid it was just all over a laundry room okay
I don't know about him whether he was drinking or all right he was on something else
you take medication of income I have no idea how long have you been uh Neighbors
[Applause] not quite a year okay six months do you have in there you just said when he brought that you
know yeah that's mine I must have forgot I had it under the bed now you're saying
it's not yours it's his so no no no I meant the pellet gun which what's that it's a nine millimeter
magazine I found in your bedroom where's the rest of the gun it's on the chair and that's better it's
on the chair in the bedroom this incident appears to have started off as a dispute between two roommates about
laundry duties at some point the the fellow that's been arrested came out of the house with a nine millimeter
pistol and fired two rounds into the ground you can see in front there that there's uh divots in the cement
the victim was standing somewhere in this area and either took pieces of shrapnel in the leg or pieces of cement
that have been chipped up from the ground he's been sent to Burnaby General with as if he had undetermined injuries
to his lower right leg after the Emergency Response Team moved the rest of the party from the house
members searched it and recovered a shotgun 22 caliber rifle two nine millimeter pistols and one 22
caliber pistol it was one of the nine millimeter pistols recovered that was used to shoot at the
victim foreign the victim in the shooting has been transported back to his home here it
appears to be fine the doctors apparently aren't going to attempt to remove the fragments today he's going to
return to Burnaby General tomorrow and then go undergo some kind of minor Day Surgery
the party arrested in this has been charged with numerous offenses from assault on the victim to weapons
offenses relating to the guns seized so as it stands right now he's going to be in custody until the morning when he
faces his first court appearance the weapons we've seized here range from the one closest to the front of the hood is
a 22 caliber pistol the next one over is a nine millimeter Luger and the one at the far end which was
actually used in the shooting is also a nine millimeter Walther P-38 I'm also seized was a 16 gauge shotgun
and a 22 caliber rifle these two guys up here I think they're like the a good possibility for being
responsible for it cuts me off once that was uncooked right [Music] because I had no choice
that guy right there comes with this that's the right thing that's from his car yeah whatever he has yeah try to hit
me hit me first viewer try to grab it while he was holding it all foreign came back
when it goes from your vehicle just the two of you yeah how many people are in the other vehicle is the van involved no
I don't know I don't even know and I'm not into this [ __ ] I work every weekend
this is stupid we just asked him why did you cut them in front of us right I didn't even know yet thank you

is coming just stay out of the way yeah [Music] the guy that hit him he grabbed it from him
yeah yeah and he's also complaining of thoracic pain for these guys yeah I can communicate he speaks
yeah he's my good friend no no no [Music] what happened we said what the hell did
you cut it is this why you guys are going down the road together you're conversing back and
forth right there at the Victoria I said stop that Victoria you're side by side he goes we're gonna pick you up we're
gonna do this then my buddy pull over if you're gonna pick me up right he's swing
the things at me he hit me first I grabbed it at him and I went ahead with Charlie was holding it I'm not gonna let
her head down [Music] went to him because I thought he was getting hurt because two guys on hand
yeah grab the guy in a white T-shirt and pull him through the street okay which which guy had the uh the barber
the driver had the who had the club [Music] hit it everything was there and I don't think he was on the car no
man I don't know because I saw four people in the car that's all I know I just saw my friend line there so that's
your friend we should know what happened no no I mean I saw him live they claim that these guys were
zigzagging all over the place in front of them anyway they end up in a little yakking match as they're going down
King's Way and they get to the intersection here and uh the driver of the Volkswagen says you
know when you cut us off for it and uh he says that the uh the Vietnamese guy from the other car
says uh we're gonna [ __ ] you up so they say oh well you know then just pull over there yeah so they all pull
over they all get out and um the driver of the car with the Vietnamese people he was carrying the
red club right okay the driver of this car ended up in a scrap with the Vietnamese guy in the
white shirt he said he kicked him twice and then put him down yeah uh he didn't see what happened with the driver who
had the the red Club he doesn't know what happened there because he was busy with
this guy that's basically it all right well it almost looks like a self-defense thing I mean this guy he comes with this
guy with the club this guy basically turns the club around on him and ends up smacking him with it
we got the info on these two guys I'll just send them on their way and uh we'll end up talking to the other
guy in the hospital and see what he has to say about it so it almost sounds like
a consensual kind of deal here squared off I guess they were gonna it was going to be a shouting match but
when the guy comes out with the the club club well please look all admit it yeah
I kicked the guy twice I said I didn't think I heard him quite right at first I said what it says I kicked the guy
twice I put him down I said why well a guy goes into karate stance uh you know [Music]
foreign not right now there's more important things happening to you such as you being under arrest
don't worry about your friend this is my account but he wasn't driving that then he took this guy you know
have you found have you been arrested for a pair of driving before sir yes I did you have been how long ago was that

the driver's seat over to the passenger seat I watched to do that with my own eyes

in the past I've been I'd be happy how long ago a while ago how long's a while ago
which key um fits the trunk sir uh when okay I have my shop key I just want to know which one
these are customers where's the one for the truck my body my buddy just took all the whole bunch of
keys to the sir sir don't do the Buddy thing we saw you driving and we followed you in here so don't worry about your

deceive Us by sliding over in your vehicle and going over to the other side I had a friend with me let's let's just

same time you pulled in here and parked with my own very eyes pay attention to me with my own eyes I watched you slide
over from the driver's seat to the passenger seat so don't tell me about your buddy don't tell me there's
somebody else I saw it I know what I saw I saw you slide over okay I know you were the driver if we go to court on any
sort of impaired charge I know I can beat you on whatever you say because I saw it my partner saw it our passenger
saw it everybody saw it okay so stop telling me about your buddy because we know it's not true okay
that's simple have you ever been given a 214 uh suspension your driver's license
what's your date of birth again 28 June 1961. have you ever had your driver's license
suspended a few times how many is a few times five times five times so you're a pretty
habitual problem here you're going to continue to drive all the time while you're impaired well
obviously you've been given a few too many breaks if I don't put you in jail tonight what
are you gonna do yeah you're gonna take a taxi go home okay I'll get a tow truck down here and

where's your driver's license uh I have a driver's license which is at a motor vehicle branch yeah which I have to pick
it up tomorrow well my computer uh my computer just told me that uh you don't have a driver's license it was expired
in 93. yes I have to but I didn't pick it up you mean you just didn't apply for another one yes
okay if you understand that's an offense also do you give me a ticket I'll uh okay well we'll do all that as soon as
my partner's finished with the computer we're gonna just get the paperwork out we're gonna fill you up with all the
paperwork that's necessary thank you okay yeah I like to be very honest you know I
have foreign [Music] is we've caught him driving at a fast rate of speed we pulled up behind him
and what he did was he switched from the driver's seat to the passenger seat and
try to tell us that he was driving with someone else who had just gotten out of the vehicle we do know the truth because
we saw it with our own eyes we took the party out of the vehicle and subsequently in talking to him found out
that he had been drinking alcohol in the past two hours it hasn't gotten to such a high rate
that we do him for an impaired charge but what we have done excuse me sir can you back up please
back up talk to my partner not me as you can see he's still fairly intoxicated but my partner's just having
to talk to him about some belongings that he thinks he has what we've done is we've given him a suspension of his
driver's license for 24 hours so he is restricted from driving any motor vehicle for 24 hours he has been given a
ticket for driving without a driver's license and he's been given a suspension of driving any motor vehicle for the
next 24 hours and he'll be on his way his vehicle's been towed and he won't be driving that because it's going to the
unito a lot and he'll be able to pick it up when he's sober I can't get my wallet
from the car right there just beside that seat right there underneath partner said he searched the car he
can't he didn't even see it it's underneath the seat right there please sir my wallet and everything is my
wife's picture you told me in the beginning he didn't have a wallet I have a wallet is it right if you helped me so
it's right there guys don't touch me please okay back up back up about a foot and a half so if you help me my wallet
is right there I have to go home he's gonna cost me 40 50 bucks [Music] the drive tow driver looked my partner
looked at no drive I hide it said it was on the seat so go away because I don't need to see it right
there on the driver's side on the person inside please sir could you help me [Music]
I'm gonna go home we've already checked twice money in my wallet if I got lost what
what is going to happen to me it is American Express started there everything I tell you what
I'm gonna go stick my arm under the seat if it's not there and you're not gone in
about a minute and a half you're going to the drunk tank not though you just hold for one sec I'm just gonna

everywhere around that seat there's nothing there I'm not looking again you got exactly we came to a deal we had a
deal I said I would look you said you would go or you can end up in our drunk okay

When You're Sober in 24 hours we told them to hold it for 24 hours okay make sure if anything goes wrong

bars called Diego's apparently he saw some several people here and they think that maybe it's um
[Music] can the way by Imperial so we're just going to head down there what what the member called in was a
vehicle fled from him near this Pub we were going to what he believes has happened
is they were some of the suspects involved in apostles [Applause] foreign [Applause]
[Applause] he got up after I hit him he I didn't touch him I just hit him once before
what happened he did he try and run you over or right so what happened this other guy pulled a
knife on you yeah okay and then once hit him and I run in my car and then you ran off took off is that
right that's all it was I thought it was somebody else coming to hit the truck again because I don't know
somebody I can't believe I didn't hear I didn't hear it so I told him I do hear it I didn't hear it
did you know this guy that uh I knew the other guy and the other guy just started
we were just arguing like I know him I know Jose I know the one guy and then started arguing that's about it is that
why he pulled a knife on you no the other guy did watch her yeah I had a problem with him before a long time ago
whenever it happened he just you know that's your date of birth June 866. well what happened exactly there we
drove by yeah and uh there was shelving going on so we pulled around the corner and stopped and uh as we got out of the
vehicle we came around the corner these guys were back in the vehicle already and the other guy was holding his buddy
up by one hand oh so he's at home yeah so we yelled police and they just took off bolted down Mark Jason on foot for a
brief period of time yeah to turn our lights off just kept going well he was saying that this guy pulled a knife on
him so he knows the one guy or something like that I mean the truck all I did is
hit the guy and then I run I went in my truck that's why I took off on that door took my truck who did uh
the guy the guy that the guy the guy with the knife the guy that punched the guy you punched yeah after you got back
from the truck and started to go he kicked your door no no before he walked by the truck and kicked my door that's
why I went off to him I said get away from the truck right yeah that's what he called the knife and I just I just
punched him once and then I run in my truck and then I took off so after we yelled police and you I didn't hear you
I swear to you I didn't hear you why did you turn the lights off huh why'd you turn your lights off because I thought
they might try following me or something I don't know with a flashlight I find that hard to believe I
I swear to you I don't know if you believe it or I'll find out soon enough we'll find out soon enough another
officer is down there now you want to have a seat right ahead they knew you were police officer I'm sure so we just
waiting for Trish to get backwards as to whether there's a victim so far there's
no uh and the bouncer doesn't know anything about it okay it's the alleyway uh that exits off of Arcola it was a
trans-empt style vehicle parked right there he was laying on the ground until his
buddy holding them so they should be sticking around they knew we were pleased so
okay well I'll have a look around for us so the other guys the victims are cold right the one guy was out in the ground
right out yeah if they knew each other there was a good possibility that they'll just uh jump in the vehicle yeah
disappear either and they'll report it later either way he's been drinking quite a
bit eh yeah it's more like just there really isn't any damage to the trucks just the
guy put his foot [Music] yeah they've gone there was a cool okay thanks guys looks like the
victim's gone so uh either he's we're never going to hear from again he's not gonna you know it's
just a consensual fighter he'll make a report to the Detachment at which point we've got the names of the suspects and
we can follow up with charges if need be what the officer is going to do right now is basically a gentleman's been
drinking and he's got enough of a suspicion and he's not able to drive that well so they're going to give him a
24-hour roadside suspension prevent him from driving tonight and hopefully he'll
uh go home go to bed and deal with this when he's sober how are you doing I'm doing it Bud oh not bad how are you
doing how long have I known you about five seconds just because my jacket because I'm cold okay that's

she's arrested by Constable LeBlanc under Section 43 of the electrical control licensing act for being drunk in
a public place we're just going to basically give her a place to sleep for the night and then she'll be released
probably when she's over in the morning you're gonna get some propane yeah Fred bernabe I'm out with that plate I
ran at uh McPherson in Kingsway the Christmas I quit that you got a driver's license

in response to a noise complaint he spoke to the occupants of Unit D here in this little townhouse development the
fell was less than cooperative and uh had a mouthful of expressions for Constable Larkin so he's going to issue
the fill a bylaw ticket now and if it continues he may end up being arrested for mischief
no problem uh yeah we had a couple complaints here [Music] the second time I went over and he
guarantees me that there's not going to be any further problem okay she just moved in about three days ago the first
event so okay I guess at this rate he may be moving out quickly too that's right yeah
once in a while here in the past but you know we just we don't tolerate it no no
we don't get a lot of complaints here and uh this fella seems to have a poor attitude that's right exactly okay well
I think it should be I'm pretty sure it'll be okay I told them myself that I'll phone because he was mad at the
girl next door for phoning that's what he was complaining about and I just told him well I said if there's any more
problems I said I will be holding myself yeah okay we should uh we'll just be a few more minutes I know that you're here
okay no problem thanks thank you she talked to him a couple times he's only lived here for three days
and he might not be living here much longer but uh is this a section number here
