I was very fortunate to meet Princess Diana about four years before she passed away. It was a tough time because it was
towards the end of her marriage and it was enormously difficult and she just opened up completely and discussed so
many incredible things. Diana spoke to me quite often about his Royal Highness Prince Charles. And unfortunately, I
came on the scene right as the marriage had already broken down. And I remember sitting with her at that first lunch at
Kensington Palace, just the two of us. And I said, "Diana, you and Charles took the world by storm. You're so fabulous.
Each of you as individuals astonishingly fantastic. What can we do to get the two
of you back together again? I said, we have an expression in America that it's not over till it's over. What can we do
to get the two of you back together again? And she expressed her great love for him, her great affection for him,
but unfortunately at that time, John Major had already mentioned about the divorce in Parliament and the Archbishop
of Canterbury had already decreed it. So she said, "Unfortunately, the wheels in
motion were too far advanced for anything to be done at that stage." And I said to her, "Can something be done?"
And I wanted to be very American and I wanted to say, "Can we pick up the phone and ask him to please come over and just
talk this through?" I obviously tried very, very hard and I could see the sadness that she was experiencing
because he was the true love of her life.

Princess Diana's friend, Lana Marks, remembers Diana as she knew her, and reveals who she believes was really Diana's one true love.
