One of the most important pieces of evidence in Kerry O'Brien Krueger's disappearance may have been a pickup truck.

Investigators found reddish residue inside the truck and collected it as evidence. Years later, a detective discarded that evidence while cleaning out storage. During the modern investigation, a cadaver dog alerted three separate times around the same area of the truck, an alert investigators described as one of the strongest they'd ever seen.

But without the original evidence, many questions remain.
