A mother, father, and 6-year-old child disappear into the Oklahoma mountains after going to look at a rural property
that they were interested in purchasing. Their truck is found near the tract of land that they were looking at buying
with a bunch of things inside that they would never have just left behind. I'm talking $32,000 in cash, a starving dog,
a phone, their keys, and there was no sign of them for 4 years. But then the family is found dead not far from where
the truck was. Now, as I looked in this case, I found three theories about what could have happened to the Jamison
family. Theory number one is murder-suicide. Now, this is the one that some people latch onto early
because of Sherilyn, the mother. She'd recently stopped taking her medication, and she'd struggled with mental health
issues. Police actually found this long handwritten letter in the truck where she talks about hating her husband,
Bobby, and she accuses him of trying to kill her. So, some wonder, did Sherilyn take her family onto that mountain and
kill them? But if that's true, where is the weapon? Cuz none was ever found. And how did
they end up miles away from their truck? The terrain was harsh. It would have been hard to make it there on foot.
Now, theory number two is that they could have died of misadventure. Did they go exploring and somehow get lost?
Maybe they're unfamiliar with the land and they got like turned around? Or some even wonder if they could have been on
drugs because there is this infamous surveillance footage of the family loading their truck before they
disappeared where people have said that they look like they're quote in a trance. But here is my issue with
misadventure. No matter how it could have happened, we know that the family made it back to the truck after
exploring the property because of the digital trail from their GPS and this picture on their BlackBerry. The truck
is even turned around like they were about to leave and drive down the mountain after looking around. So, then
why suddenly stop, leave everything behind, and then like go back out? Which brings me to theory number three,
foul play. And this is the one that I think fits most of the facts and the theory that the former sheriff seems to
buy into as well. He says, "Follow the money." The Jamesons were carrying huge amounts
of cash. They were looking at remote land. So who knew that they would be there?
