She went from probably a stomach bug to coding seven times in less than 24 hours. On Monday, July 20th, 2015, Mary
Yoder was fine. She was seeing patients, smiling, working a full day, but by that
evening, she was violently ill. And by Tuesday morning, her husband Bill drove her to the hospital. Doctors ran tests,
fluids helped, she seemed stable, but the hospital wanted to keep her overnight just to observe. So, Bill went
home to sleep. Around 10:00 p.m., an hour after he left, Mary crashed. She fell in the
bathroom and was moved to the ICU. Her heart stopped 4:17 a.m. The hospital tried to call Bill again
and again. No answer. He says he plugged his phone in in another room to charge. State troopers
had to physically go to his house to wake him up. And the house was only 15 minutes away from the hospital, but it
took him an hour to get there. Mary's sisters can't shake that detail. They understand going home. They
understand thinking it's just a stomach bug. But not keeping your phone nearby? Not
rushing to the hospital immediately? Then later, they learned Mary died from colchicine poisoning. And here's what
unsettled them even more. Colchicine can be used in a process to grow super potent marijuana.
Years earlier, Bill had experimented with enhancing marijuana plants. At first, he told people he'd never
heard of colchicine. Is that just a series of coincidences or something that doesn't sit right?

She collapsed in the bathroom, was rushed to the ICU, and her heart stopped at 4:17 a.m. The hospital tried calling Bill repeatedly with no answer, and state troopers had to wake him up at home just 15 minutes away. Later, toxicology revealed Mary died from colchicine poisoning—raising even more unsettling questions.
