It isn't a he said, she said, because she recorded everything. On April 21st, 2013, Laura Sweeten called police from a
movie theater. She said that her husband had just held her against her will and threatened to kill her and himself. She
said she tried to leave multiple times, but he wouldn't let her. And here's the thing, there was evidence of some of
this, an hour-long audio recording that Laura took. And on it, Dave can be heard
threatening to kill himself. Laura can be heard asking to leave, and at one point police reports say that you can
hear what sounds like a struggle. But this recording was not enough to file charges against Dave, apparently. Now,
it's hard to know what exactly that recording depicts, because if any copy of it still exists, we weren't able to
find it. And no transcript was made available by the police. So, do you think a recording like this should have
been enough to settle this he said, she said situation?

On April 21, 2013, Laura Sweetman called police and reported that her husband had held her against her will and threatened to kill her and himself.

Laura had recorded the incident. According to police reports, the audio captured her asking to leave, Dave threatening suicide, and sounds of a struggle.

Despite this recording, no charges were filed. No transcript of the audio was made publicly available.
