[Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so I've been approached with a very
interesting theory on the jod hen tro case mhm so we covered that what the beginning of
May well you know so jod was this woman that 25 years old roughly all indications was that she was
abducted just outside of her apartment in the early morning hours back in 1995 so this person that approached me with
this Theory says hey look this is not just a theory it's also something that I have some firsthand knowledge about and
I'm like firsthand knowledge about what you know and they say well I'm like 99% sure I know who abducted and and killed
jod hosen tro for people who haven't listened that's episode 2000 that's episode 208 209 did you say
2000 in the year 2000 I don't know that we'll make it to episode 2000 it's been a very long weekend happy 4th of July so
okay so here here's here's the story well let's let's go back just a little bit because we've been contacted
by victims family members friends um people that have you know we've reported on people as
suspects and then we get contact by them we've been contacted by some of the suspects yes yeah and it's um if you
would have told me when we started years ago that you know that that would happen
I I wouldn't expect it I mean I'm I'm shocked by the amount of people that will contact us I I'm also shocked by
the amount of people that are willing to talk with us uh even after you know I call them a piece of [ __ ] well I
wouldn't I wouldn't have believed that would have happened in a million years because I mean we're talking when we
first started doing this we just we just sat down in a garage cracked a few beers
hit record we didn't actually even think anybody would would listen let alone let
alone call us or email us but this is a tricky thing to talk about Captain because if I'm going to reveal this
Theory I have to really throw somebody under the bus here but this is all this is all information coming from a source
this is not my opinion this is not me saying this is what happened right basically what you're saying this is a
theory there's this what I've been told right this we don't have the evidence to
back this up so this this person tells me that in 1995 that they moved to Forest City Iowa
and started working for at a company that's like within the Winnebago Industries okay so like when Winnebago
is this huge company and they probably have smaller companies that do work for them right um he says that when he
started working there 1995 this is the same year that that jod was abducted he says that he worked with two
other people in his Department one of them was a a man by the name of Randy and I'll just go ahead
and leave his last name out he's it's easy to find and you you'll know who this guy is in a little bit and then
there was another guy there that worked with Randy and his name would have been we'll call him Todd okay so Randy and
Todd already work in this small department at this company that works does work for w wneo okay you follow me
so far MH when this guy gets to work now his department is three members three men strong
okay anyway he says Randy was his manager and had trained him on his job mhm and and Randy lived in Mason City
which is about 45 minutes from Forest City so remember jod lived in Mason City MH and this person went on to tell me
that Randy lived quote very close to Jody's apartment that in fact Randy lived on Kentucky Avenue which is the
same street as the key Apartments where jod lived now immediately when he's telling me this
story I I already knew who this Randy guy is that he's talking about now Randy is the guy that was driving past the key
apartments on his way into work that morning mhm when he said that he saw a light colored van possibly white with
its flashers on so all these years that's been a suspicious vehicle let's say right and this
case the problem with that statement according to this person to the source that I spoke to he says that in Randy's
statement that he gave to police and gave to the media he says that I saw this van on my way into work that day
this individual said Randy was not at work that day the other guy that he worked with
was not at work that day either so these two individuals were absent from work they were both supposed to be
there um but they didn't show up to work he remembers this specifically because he was he said he was look I was pissed
off we we have three men in our department I'm the only one that showed up that day I worked my ass off that
day and he didn't know much about Jody who's and Tru he and this is where it's going to get a
little thicker here he says that that's what she said he had overheard Randy and
Todd discussing a woman named Jodie mhm many times and he said that they they joked
and laughed about harassing her remember there was some rumor that she might have been
stalked that she had a stalker right he said that they joked about uh following her when she would go out jogging and
that they would put notes and flowers on her doorstep and he didn't put two and two
together he didn't know even though jod was this uh kind of famous person because she was on the
news she was a news anchor he didn't know he didn't put it two and two together that Jody that they were
talking about at work was the news Anor all he knew because he he started working with these guys about 2 or 3
months before she was abducted right and he had just moved to the area himself he
he was not from Iowa so when he gets there he hears the two guys that he works with talking about harassing this
young woman named jod and all he can remember is it's jod and she has a what he said was a funny last name he didn't
at the time didn't recall what the last name was so he says about a day after the
abduction you know this is all over the news so the day of the Abduction the two
guys that he works with don't show up they don't show up and they were supposed they were supposed to be at
work right so then the following day one they're supposed to be there and two we
have Randy who's on camera saying look I saw this vehicle on my way into work mhm
and he didn't go to work that day which is weird cuz he he's putting himself at the crime scene right not only at the
crime scene but roughly about the time that we believe the abduction took place right so he says well I said well I need
a little more information this this this sounds interesting I don't know why the
guy would say he was on his way to work and never show up to work I said but you
know the the harassing a person named jod interesting um he says okay so Randy and
Todd they would carpo to work together so I'm assuming Todd lived somewhere near jod as well mind you this is a 45
minute drive to and from where they work in Forest City so he says this Todd guy owned a
dark or it was either a dark brown or black pickup truck which is also strange because one of the vehicles that was
rumored to have been following her when she was jogging was a black or a dark colored pickup
truck and he said the way that this worked would be you know some days Randy would drive
the two in in his car and other days this Todd guy would drive in and they would show up in his
truck he thought from what he had overheard them talking about at work he thought that they were stalking or
harassing their words I think were harassing this girl uh after work you know that they would go home and they
would follow her in in the truck or she would be gone and he states that he believes that they knew her schedule
somewhat because they were leaving notes and flowers and things at her doorstep and he believes that they were leaving
these at times when they knew they would not be spotted by her that she wasn't home right you know and they could just
go drop these things off so anyway he says he doesn't know anything about Jodie at the time he doesn't know
anything about his coworker Randy or Todd other than they have these vehicles oh I forgot to mention the vehicle that
Randy owned is a similar description as the one that the jogger remember there was a jogger that that was jogging by
that morning and said that hey I jog this route every morning this was the for you know I I saw a strange vehicle
rushing out of the parking lot and I believe it was I think the jogger described it like a
blue small car like blue foro maybe mhm and it's he said that according to this Source Randy had a vehicle that matched
that description so he said shortly after the Jodie thing these guys they had a little little TV
at work that one of them had brought in to work yeah he said that he got further
pissed off at them because not only did they both miss work on that day that I think it was a Tuesday that she was
abducted but not only did they both miss work that day but for the next couple days he said all they seemed to do was
sit around that TV and watch TV you know he's doing all the all the hard work himself and he didn't think too much of
it at the time he didn't know that Randy had given an interview you know that he
that Randy had spoke to the media or to the police department he didn't know he didn't have any idea that Randy could be
connected to this jod case you know either as a suspect or just an eyewitness who saw a light
colored van then what happens is remember they covered Jody's case on America's Most Wanted well this guy
tells me he says look America's Most Wanted was one of my favorite shows back then so he goes about a month after the
case took place I'm watching America's Most Wanted and they cover jod hen tru's case and he says oh I when I saw
America's Most Wanted and they said jod who's in true he said that's the funny last name that I remember these guys
talk about at work mhm and then he sees his boss Randy on the TV saying yeah I was driving to work that day and I went
past the key apartments and I saw a white or light colored van with flashing lights and I remember it because I
thought it was a a police officer so I slowed down I was rushing on my way to work and so he goes he he says holy crap
first of all he checks out the date and he he goes first of all Randy was not at work
that day number one number two he goes up to him and he goes you were on TV I saw you on America's Most Wanted uh last
night right why wouldn't you why didn't you tell me that you were going to be on
he considered this guy to be like a work friend they weren't you know best friends or anything like that but you
have your work friends that you you shoot the [ __ ] with and stuff like that and he goes man that's like my favorite
show I see you on there but I have a bit of a problem with seeing you on there you didn't go to work that day and where
was Todd Todd didn't go to work that day either now by the time that this individual had confronted Randy about
being on America's Most Wanted this Todd guy had already quit working there mind
you this is weeks or a month after the actual abduction right so Todd no longer worked
there he said that and now this is according to him that Randy in kind of a roundabout
way threatened him not so much about threatened this eyewitness though or the guy that's telling you the story correct
he he kind of said something about it sounds like and I it sounds like the two just say it okay it sounds like the two
of them smoked pot together from time to time okay nothing wrong with that so he
said that when he got the threat from Randy Randy implied that the threat pertained to their their pot smoking you
know if you tell anybody what you know about you know if you if I find out you've told anybody and he said he said
the way that Randy worded it to him made it sound like he was talking about the about the marijuana but he inside felt
that Randy O Okay knows that I know that he's lying about this jod thing that he
might have had something to do with it and this this is his roundabout not so obvious way of threatening my life if I
snitch on him for what I know about him not being at work right and there's no explanation on why he's not at work he
he's not given an explanation no mhm so he told me that what the way that this went down he was terrified of Randy and
this other guy even though this other guy didn't work there anymore he was terrified of these guys so was he
terrified before no he he was kind of he was kind of friends with Randy right before and it was until he saw Randy on
America's Most wed that they were no longer friends that he's like holy crap this guy might have done something here
right and him and Todd might have done it together so which would make a little more sense because you would think
that uh she would fight so it'd be easier to take take her down with two if this story story is true okay if this
story is true this means two things though that Randy not only lied about being at work to his work and to the
media and to the police but he lied to his wife about going to work and I say that because this individual told me
that Randy and his wife shared a car so on the days that he drove to work he would have to tell her hey I got to go
to work today and I'm going to pick up Todd on my way in and so his whereabouts then become very tricky because where
were you that day for the entirety of the day right and why did this Todd guy all of a sudden quit working there now
this guy tells me he says look after Randy threatened me I didn't talk to him again after that I stayed out of his way
if he was in the room I put my head down he said I only worked there another few
weeks or maybe a month while I looked for another job because I wanted to get away from this individual who I was
afraid of right and I said to him I said well look what do you want me to do and
he said he said I I just want you know some somebody to look into this and I said well I will but the the issue here
is law enforcement are the ones that need to look into this have you told law enforcement yeah and he states that he
he did it took him some time he ended up moving out of state and once he moved out of state he did contact
the police department as well as some other media groups like if uh he contacted you know like things like
Crimestoppers and there is a website I think it's is it f jodi.com right or jodi.com something like that well and he
could have contacted America's Most Wanted he he told me I said I said look for me to believe you first of all I
want to know that you've I'm not the only person you've told this story to because here we are sitting here 20 some
years later what took you so long I understand being afraid and he said look once I moved if I right so basically
he's saying it didn't really take me that long I told people he said he told a lot of people and he said that the
problem being is that okay so I couldn't get from him if he specifically discussed this with a
detective that worked Jody's case I couldn't get him to say that what he kept saying was anytime that I saw the
case on TV I contacted whatever number they posted there right so on good for him right so on the anniversaries of her
disappearance uh he contacted you know whatever number they posted on on the TV screen and he's done that on several
anniversaries he said and he said that's why I'm calling you that's why I'm talking to you now because I came across
your show that covered it and I just told myself a long time ago even though I was afraid at the time now the best
thing I can do is anytime somebody brings up this case I'm going to tell them what I know well here's here's one
of the problems with it um if Randy was his higher up right MH that you know Randy claims that he went to work that
day depending on how they keep records of uh how they log in right or you know how they their time cards and all that
stuff if he's somewhat of a supervisor he probably has the authority or to know how to get that fudge the time cards
right and that establishes your own Alibi so so that that is one of the problems well here so here's what I did
because before I before you and I decided to to talk about this this is the first time I'm hearing about it too
so yeah well the reason being is I wanted to make sure that at least portions of this man's story that I
could verify are in fact true you know because anybody could email me or you and say look I know something about this
case and just actually we've had some real off-the-wall stuff with uh didn't who was the uh somebody told us
that like somebody famous like Brad Pit Brad Pit had was involved in one of the crimes we covered right yeah boys on the
tracks which we know is not true is just some well we don't know that for sure that's true know that for we can't
account for Brad Pit for that day yeah uh that's no but you know and and then hopefully we get to share some more
because uh some of the stuff that has been presented to us is is normally interesting stuff for the most part it's
not um you know Captain mccrazy right it's normally like there is some some something there and sometimes they just
know something that sometimes they're adamant that you need to hear one piece of evidence right and
then sometimes they'll tell you like it's this big aha moment and you think yeah I kind of read that somewhere too
so chances are law enforcement knows whatever you're trying to tell me I would say that this to me out of all the
things that I presented you know like you said like the most people when they talk to us or tell us a theory or some
information that they know on case you're expecting this big aha moment right and it never really comes it never
really happens uh you know nobody's ever handed us a Smoking Gun per se right we'd love to solve a case um and and
we'd love to been a part of just like bringing a case to light to the point where gets people talking and it gets
solved even if we're not directly responsible well I like that this has been according to him it's been reported
multiple times so I felt fine throwing it out there he did say that at one point this was a theory that was
discussed on the fine Jodie website right um and he he contacted them so that's why it was a topic of discussion
on there right now he's not outwardly telling me that these two individuals did it but he's
say saying that if he had to pick somebody it would be these two because they neither them were at work that day
where they said they were going to be and then Randy injects himself into the the investigation into the case yeah so
just to to play Devil's Advocate though this guy's dates might be wrong on when Randy was at work and when he wasn't at
work I agree I agree so so that's one point of Playing devil's advocate the other thing too is that um you work with
a guy for a short amount of time it seems like on some level you have a Fallout and now you're coming out and
saying hey this is kind of suspicious so I mean you got to take all this information with a grain of salt but it'
be interesting if there was a way to find records for these two individuals if they never made it to work why well
and I want to tell you Captain I did do my due diligence because here's the I hope you cleaned up after here's the
first thing that I do like so it when this individual gave me this information one I I need to figure out
he is in fact who he says he is right rather than just going oh you're Tom from Texas okay Tom from Texas I believe
everything you told me I make them uh Skype and then uh make them take their shirt off just in case they're wearing a
wire well here's what here's what I can tell you uh regarding the information that he gave us and what we just covered
I did do some checking this guy is who he says he is and I was able to verify that this individual that gave me this
information and this Randy individual both worked for that company that he said uh the the name of the company that
he gave me I I was able to verify that they both worked there during the June month of 1995 MH so some of his story
checks out what stuff I'm able to check out from from my seat here in the garage
that portion of the stuff checks out very curious to see if somebody could get a hold of the the time cards punch
cards or if it was a computer system right or maybe Randy's wife is not his wife anymore maybe it's an ex-wife maybe
she knows something well this is just another example of keeping uh case in the spotlight I think and Jody's case is
is a very um kind of famous case in in the whole state of Iowa right and it's it's one that I don't think is going to
go away from the spotlight I think it will always be it's like I said it's one of those cases in Iowa where everyone in
Iowa has heard of this case everyone has a theory or speculation some thoughts on
this case and it was just interesting to think about this one from a different perspective MH I think the the the
connection is weird and interesting this individual that that claims to seen something this whole time
have we been looking for the wrong vehicle yeah I wonder why they thought it was so funny to harass her like or
how that even started look I I will say this I this individual that told me the story I believe I believe this story
that he told me because like I said I was able to verify some of it but but what I can't
verify is there a chance they were talking about a different woman you know what I mean like H chances are probably
not they're from the same town right you know I mean she's a young attractive female but it's but what I'm
saying is I just wonder you know did you asked this individual like do you know why they harassed her or why how it even
started he didn't seem to know why I did ask him he because he said that it from
his understanding these two guys had worked together for a while right and by by the time he shows up they already it
was a Twan Department that was EX extended to three people mhm it's a growing department so these two guys
could have worked in the department by themselves just the two of them for quite some time he said that once he got
there they were already talking about this like this was something that had been going on for a while for the two of
them if if she lived close I just wonder if it's some situation where she was out
running or something and he goes to pick up you know his buddy to go to work and
he's driving the car by and she kind of gets freaked out a little bit thinking the car is falling her and he's like
lady I wasn't falling you I was just picking up my buddy right and then they thought that was really funny you know
and like oh well let's just keep messing with her I'm just saying it's a weird thing to start and not just one person
if it's just one person then you're kind of a you're a freak look if you're going
to somebody's house late at night and you're peeping in the windows you're a freak don't do that but what I'm saying
is if one person did that I could see I have this fascination with her so I'm going to follow her why she jogs I'm
going to leave some gifts for her right mhm that's if it's one person right you're just a weirdo that has some
Obsession where where it doesn't make much sense in my head is both people or or was it mainly one and the
other one was just kind of in on the I don't know that he that he knows the answer to that question because when
I asked you see where well you see what I'm saying though right right but no that and I know and that's why I asked
him I said why why her why did they pick her if they were in fact harassing uh her or or any woman at all why did they
pick her and he said look I I can't I don't know uh I didn't have direct conversations with them I only overheard
them talking about her and then what's your followup question I just want to I want to see your interrogation skills
the the best answer he could come up with was that they had seen her on TV okay which which is obvious right you
say you you know you son of a [ __ ] you tell me tell me right now the here's the
other thing though Captain we we can we're only left to speculate as to why her and I think the answer of her being
on TV is a good one and I think that's the start I think what happens here is you have a a young attractive woman
who's on TV and by the way she lives oh I would I would say that it it would be a stretch to believe that it would take
5 minutes to drive from this one individual's house to the key Apartments I think that it might just be happen
stance that that that one of these individuals goes look there's this I Got This creepy fascination with this woman
who's on TV right she happens to live about a two or three minute drive from me it's convenient for me
to watch her right and oh by the way my creepy buddy he's got a similar you know it it could start off
as as as as something somewhat innocent of going hey have you ever seen that that girl on the news oh man she's
goodlooking blah blah blah or she leaves for she leaves for work the same time we
do guess what I saw her over the weekend cuz I live right around the corner I guess from her and uh I saw her she was
jogging in a pair of shorts and a tiny little you know what I mean starts off as something dumb like that and then
next thing you know the word innocent though no right right what I what I meant by that is there's a chance that
when this before this Fascination started mhm it was just a simple innocent thing as somebody seeing
somebody on TV that they find attractive is what I meant by that I think once the
Talk starts happening and next thing you know you find yourself in a dark colored
pickup truck and you're following the woman as she's jogging and you're leaving things on her
doorstep innocence has been gone for quite some time by this time yeah and if you're armchair
detective take a little time to look into this Theory and maybe uh see if you could link some more things together and
maybe this becomes a solid lead for law enforcement well and I do want to say that I appreciate this information
making its way to us however I stopped the the story at the very beginning and said look have you contacted if you
think this is something real and legit have you contacted law enforcement because I don't want to know unless this
story has already been passed on to the proper people right so if anybody has any more information about Jody's case
