[Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] check one to dirty bird that always got me every time I'd
play gigs and the sound guy would go all right right check your mic you never know what to say then
everybody tries to pull the testies testies one two yeah you know what's going to happen every time right the
testies right well no but you know they're going to ask you to check your mic and you're like once again I've
prepared nothing right and like when I do my base check I I eventually got to the point where I was like I just play
the same tune over and over I like to play the rappers delight Baseline uh just played that over and
over and then but with the mic check it was always like oh and then I played with a guy for I don't know about 10
years that would do the testies testies one two and then look over at you like he's like he's he's in fifth grade and
it's still funny every time yeah like look at me go I like when the sound engineer has like an assistant or an
underling so they get to do the uh microphone checks for for them so as a musician you don't have to do it the the
assistant gets up there and does it and they're always like very technical they're like you know what I mean
they're like I'm going to check this mic in a way that only a professional could
you know they do the one two one two one two 2 one one two I love one yeah the one two 2 one two with that little p in
there yeah 2 one two and then it start going real sharp on the t's yeah it always got me my favorite two was during
the set break how the sound guy would always have to tell you about the band he plays
in mhm like yeah I know I'm here every weekend but the band I play in on Tuesdays you can see us on a Tuesday we
just got at Buffalo Wild Wings or they always just got back from some tour and then You' start asking a little
bit more in depth questions to figure out about this said tour and right and you'd they would have really answers for
you then the sound gu's like you should hear me do Nights in White Satin On karaoke night you should hear me do
Faithfully yeah if you Google uh Shannon Christian and Chris Newsome one of the first like
if you if you you have the option of news or um all or photos or images things like that one of the first images
that's in that little sequence there of pictures is something where we have all five of the [ __ ] responsible for the
murder of both Shannon and Chris MH and and then between like so it has like the
the four male perpetrators surrounding this little quote and it has Vanessa Coleman the the female perpetrator on
top there and underneath it says these are the photos of the people who butchered Shannon after forcing her to
watch them mutilate and murder her boyfriend Christopher Nome um and then it I'll skip the next part because it's
it's too graphic for me to even want to say it here but um Shannon's fate was more gruesome and horrible and yet this
story does not make the mainstream media why is this because it's it's black onwhite crime therefore Politically
Incorrect to report it please send this story to all media outlets and um of course we covered this um a few weeks
ago and something you know just this is a difficult case to cover they're all difficult in some way you
know we we and look there's I think there's nothing wrong with saying that some are more difficult to cover than
others and I think especially with however many cases we're up to at this point I mean I think we're at
20 60 some episodes MH so that's a that's a lot of talking about murder mhm but some of them just hit you in
different ways especially why you're researching them and then how are you going to report them um a case like um
Casey Anthony for example like that was such a big mainstream media case that when I thought oh this is going to be
one that I kind of keep a arms length from and I'm not going to get too emotional about it throughout the week
and I that case wrecked me M for for weeks and uh we do have obligation cuz you know we one we chose to do this and
by choosing to do this we we've had we've had some success doing it we have loyal listeners so we want to try to put
out a great product and then we our goal is for us has always been a couple things we do that I think
is that I like is we don't really try to pay too much attention to the other shows there's hundreds of other True
Crime shows out there and some really good ones some very good ones and some poo poo ones and but what we try to
do go ahead I don't want to sound like an ass but I actually think there's more poo poo than good ones proba you know I
haven't checked out all the poo poo ones right but but you know when I do kind of
like a random search of a of a specific case and then sometimes I'll see something's been covered a dozen times
or it's only been covered once or twice regardless I might peek in you know for a little bit and kind of listen in and
see what what what they have to say get your uh dmer on and just kind of well you know Bundy on watch them I've talked
about this here that there there are a few there not very many but there are a few that are just like straight
classless kind of junk right um but they're making jokes the whole time right right and look there there are
okay now that being said look at something like last podcast on the left or my favorite
murder yes do they make a bunch of jokes yes they do do do I find that classless no I don't the re one of the
main reasons why is they list their show in comedy mhm so right there if you're going to listen to their show and get
offended like they told from told you from the beginning there's going to be jokes yes our subject is crime now
personally uh I mean do we make some jokes on the show from time to time from time to time
we would we will right but uh you know it's it's always been a little we try to approach it a little differently um but
I at least respect the shows that that right away tell you hey this is a comedy show well I have different expectations
when I listen to those types of shows or specifically those two shows yeah you know I I go into it understanding that
I'm going to hear jokes and understanding that most of the show may be jokes more than information or uh
things like that so well and also with my favorite murder they're they're two comedians
so what do you expect they're going they're going to have jokes right uh and and all also they have more jokes than
we have but that's because they're Comedians and they're and they're actually funny what do you think about
the statement of please send this story to all media allet it's not so much the portion of share it and encourage other
people to tell this story of Shannon Christian or Chris Nome but more so of it wasn't covered or a lot of people
feel that it wasn't covered by enough of the mainstream media well this you know
this is a tough situation because on the surface it it really seems like maybe race would play a
factor in this story I don't personally believe it played much of a factor into the story um
but any crime that you know a hate crime basically is racially motivated I would
argue that race probably plays a factor into every crime on some level when it's
a black on white crime or white on black crime it plays some Factor now what percentage of that you know and and that
would be the argument I talked to a very intelligent lady about this and she was
was talking about well the hate crime the the racial implication would have to be that that these individuals felt that
they were Superior well I would argue that anybody that is killing somebody to either cover
something up or just to kill them therefore feels that their life is more Superior to than the person that is
being murdered of course yeah so that becomes a sticky situation but why this wasn't reported on more
I I don't know I kind of sought out an answer from other people especially people in the uh Knoxville area and this
wasn't me asking them but I I went to like the news coverage of the day you know of that time period to see what
people were saying you know because they'll often go to the streets take to the streets and ask people streets yeah
their opinion and stuff and I thought that um this one lady I thought she described it very well I you know her
saying something to the effect of there's violent crime happening and violent murders happening in every city
in this country well just to cut you off real quick I think in this trailer you also talked about violent crimes
happening in New York in LA and I think Knoxville is um actually I said Chicago uh in uh New York yeah and but I think
Knoxville is one of the most violent crime cities in America gotcha and so when you said but this doesn't happen at
a time like this I remember thinking at the time like I thought I read something
about that but but no I think I think also though this is maybe that's another reason why it wasn't nationally covered
this happened in Knoxville and and not a a major city well I think part of it though is
that the biggest portion of this investigation and the biggest problem that prose utter would run into in this
specific case is you have five individuals all responsible in my opinion all very likely equally
responsible in my opinion um all turning on one another they all have a different
story to tell police so technically they all confess they do with some not not right
away they all need a little bit of uh motivation to confess and what you find when you dive into this case and you
look through each one of their statements is they're a little more forthcoming they're a little more honest
the more times they are questioned because one thing that the one thing that law enforcement did extremely well
I mean you want to talk about hitting it out of the park these they didn't slip at all law enforcement they were perfect
in the sense of they would go to Marcus Davidson and say hey this this is what we think happened what happened and he
might admit to something and then they go oh yeah well we know this happened right okay so let me give you a prime
example actually Marcus Davidson who many believe he's the older brother remember uh lalvis cobbins is his
younger brother right that's the one that we played his testimony yeah so a lot of people believe Marcus to be the
quote unquote ring leader of this group of five um that very well could be the case um we'll kind of go through this
real you know each one at a time and I think what you'll see Captain is that it really pieces together what very likely
is the truth of that night and in the next day so Marcus originally tells police that he he had no involvement in
this case at all now mind you remember they found shann and Christian in his home dead in the home that he was
renting right okay so he says to police basically look my brother comes down here with George Thomas and Vanessa
Coleman they carjacked these people they they took them hostage they tortured them they did all this in my house and
because I'm an xcon because I just got out on felony charges of carjacking you're all going to come after me right
and now there's nothing I can do because this went down in my house but I wasn't
there I haven't been there for days I left because my girlfriend left and I left because these yahoos took over my
house and I didn't want to stay there with them right but then we get testimony from his girlfriend his
ex-girlfriend saying she stopped by the house to pick up items and he actually called her over M and so just that in
itself is enough to go hey your your story's [ __ ] bro right well and and yeah now we know you were there when you
say you weren't there but the first tactic that police took against Marcus was there were items several items
inside the vehicle that was carjacked that was a 4Runner right I believe it was a Toyota 4Runner right so an SUV
they found several items inside that SUV that had Marcus's fingerprints on them that's actually how they traced down to
where and and found Shannon Christian so they find the vehicle first they test it
for fingerprints they find Marcus Davidson's fingerprint on items inside the car because he's a known felon his
fingerprints are on file they go right to the home that he's renting and they find this poor young woman dead in his
kitchen yeah and so they come at him and they say look well you had to have been involved
somehow in this because we found your fingerprints on items inside of the vehicle that was carjacked that was
owned by this this woman that's now deceased and he says oh well that's cuz I was out doing this on this day and all
of a sudden my brother shows up with his friends and they joy riding in a car and
I went riding with them I got in the car and went riding with him but like you said now we have his his ex-girlfriend
coming forward saying um you know I saw him at the house during the time frame that he says he was not staying right
because he called me over right you know so yeah so and then the the most interesting I think of the statements
given to police by these five perpetrators I believe the the most interesting ones lie with Marcus
Davidson his brother lalis cobbins and then the girlfriend lalis cins girlfriend Vanessa Coleman so Vanessa
Coleman remember she was staying there and she gave the impression that um she was being threatened by
Marcus and she had little to no involvement in this whole thing that went down right and Lal
lalis also states that you know they basically his brother showed him a gun and basically was saying nobody's
leaving here yeah so letavis States we're being held against our will as well in his statements he also says that
he went with Marcus and Eric Boyd to go out and meet some girl that Marcus knew uh because she was going to give them a
cell phone yeah well the here's a major problem with that so a lot of people thought well now we got this lalis kid
he's under the influence of his older brother's uh violent hand and Direction and now he's out and he gets
tricked into carjacking these people right well the problem with that is we have Vanessa Coleman statements to law
enforcement who State she states that Marcus was talking told the group I'm going to go out and carjack some people
I'm going to go out and Rob and carjack some people not only that according to her statements he stated to the group
I'm going to do it tonight yeah yall tripping so lalis who claims these people were all tripping and they need
to get out of there after this goes down according to Vanessa Coleman's statements lalis knew not only did he
know but the the whole group knew that there was going to be a hijacking and a uh a robbery that would go down that
night yeah and this I mean he's a real piece of [ __ ] by the way but so this real piece of [ __ ] says well I just
followed them because I'm going to go meet this girl no that's not what happened you you
were told at your brother's house we're going to go carjack somebody mhm and you're like oh you guys yall must be
tripping if I'm not going to go with you right and so you went with them and you
helped and you knew this was going to happen so that was another [ __ ] lie that he says but I mean he he says a
million [ __ ] lies but that's because he's a giant piece of [ __ ] so we have Lalas who would say in his statement
that George Thomas and Vanessa Coleman stayed behind at the at Marcus's house and they didn't know what was going on
which think about how he's got to piece this together they can't know what's going to go down because he doesn't know
what's going to go down so what you have is you have five different individuals who are going to tell you some of the
truth enough to point the finger at others being more involved than what they personally are involved but some of
these guys have to including in girl Vanessa have to alter their story alter the truth to play to their story to
their angle of the story a little bit so lalis needs Vanessa and George to be more innocent than what they actually
are as well because it fits his Narrative of what went down that night the problem with this is though not not
only do we know Vanessa says hey they were going to go out and carjack she then tries to make herself look more
innocent saying well lalis and Marcus and Eric Boyd they left George Thomas behind to control me they left him
behind to control me right so again now she's all of a sudden very innocent she's being tricked or forced into doing
something that she doesn't want to do yeah and part of this part of the problem though is we have three
individuals that are in this town because they're visiting and so they keep talking about how they
don't have a vehicle how how the hell did they get down to Knoxville in the first place well remember George
Thomas's girlfriend was originally with them and she left the a day or two before uh this went down okay she yeah
so George Thomas's girlfriend I can't remember her name but she testified at at least one of the trials and uh
sentencing hearings but out of that group of four she the only one that had a brain now she probably didn't know
that anything like this was going to go down but I could imagine I have to believe you didn't
have to hang out with this group very long to figure out there a bunch of shady terrible people right um and look
they go to H hijack a car that's what this guy went to jail for you're stuck in the house okay buy that maybe you
don't want to be there maybe they had somebody back there to control you the game
changes when they show up with two individuals female and male and they're blindfolded mhm and they have zip ties I
believe mhm around their wrist they're they're bound and blindfolded at that point the game
changes and at that point anybody that does not call the cops is a giant piece of [ __ ] [ __ ] and and deserves
whatever punishment they got for not helping these two individuals out you just you now have kidnapped two people
this changes the game well and then keep this in mind though too lalis George and
Vanessa the three visiting who said that they had no choice to to but to stay there and participate in this stating
they had nowhere to go no vehicle no means of transportation what ultimately ends up happening after these two
individuals are kidnapped and murdered is the three of them walk according to their own statements they walked for
miles to somebody's house that they knew in Knoxville so that they could return to Kentucky right and so so this whole
wait a second so for for 3 days when when rape Tor torture and murder are going down you you have nowhere to go
and then all of a sudden when it's over oh you grew a brain and now you know that you can walk to this person's home
that you know well they they grew legs not only did they get a brain but they grew legs oh [ __ ] now I can walk
yeah I I you guys must be tripping cuz I grew some [ __ ] legs walk up on out of this [ __ ] I I have nowhere to go
but we know from your own statements yes you did you absolutely did have somewhere you could go and number two I
had no means of transportation Knoxville Knoxville is not BFE out in the middle of nowhere one pony one horse you know
stoplight town they have public transportation yeah so so that is no defense and and and not a true statement
at all look even look even if you're scared that they're going to shoot you you're I guarantee you these people
are walking freely from one room to the next right mhm you have two people that they kidnap I'd be thinking to myself
y'all must be tripping right you blindfolded these people you brought them back to the house I'd go y'all must
be tripping I'm going to go I'm going to go outside to smoke me one of those wet
blunts I go outside and start walking down the street and eventually I'm going to come across somebody and I'm going to
say you need to call 911 right and you need to get these people out of there you know hi uh
carjacking look you're you're awful if you're doing that but this is a whole different level
so to me the fact that they couldn't just get somewhere if you leave what are the chances that they're
going to come trying to find you I I understand that possibly you'd be worried one for your
safety not not not at just at that moment but possibly for your safety afterwards M because you know that
these people are bad bad people so I don't know but I just can't imagine at that moment when they get
into the house I can't imagine that that somebody's brain didn't just go into I need to stop this mode well that brings
up another interesting part of this story is was the hostage taking planned you know did they plan to kidnap these
two people and my answer is I absolutely 100% believe they planned on kidnapping
somebody right I don't know that it you know I don't believe this was a targeted
attack I don't believe that these two individuals were singled out Chris Nome and Shannon Christian I haven't seen any
evidence that they were singled out or that they were targeted like you said I I agree more with you or believe that
they knew whoever they jacked they were going to take that person hostage for whatever reason I don't know but I don't
necessarily think that these two were targeted and and the fact that they weren't targeted that also makes me lean
towards it not being quote unquote a hate crime but isn't every crime a hate crime yeah right and I I would agree
with that statement kind of a weird term I would and I know that that there's certain legal jarg that comes along with
the definition of hate crime but at the end of the day you know most people that kill
somebody hate that person at least in that very moment that they're in the act of killing them right so we have
lalis who we played his we played portions of his testimony yeah you all be tripping and so he states that it
look he doesn't say this outright but you can tell by his statement that it looked to him or he was under the
impression at the time that one he didn't know that they were going to carjack somebody and two he didn't know
that they were going to kidnap anybody now let's reverse this let's look at because I want to really examine the
possibility of it was a planned kidnapping and this is this is where this comes into play we have Eric it's
either Eric Boyd's statement or marcus' statement I can't recall off the top of my head here but one of them States we
never planned to kidnap somebody there was a car that was driving in the parking lot and the lights shined on us
and we panicked in that moment and kidnapped them and took off in the vehicle so here's here's the problem I
have with that because when lalis is later pressured by police because what they're going to say is they're going to
go okay well your brother and Eric Boyd and George Thomas then left the house after they kidnapped these people the
three of them left the house and they took Chris Nome out to the railroad tracks right the police they're
questioning him and they're saying why didn't you leave then you knew when your brother and these guys took this kid
away that they were planning to kill him why didn't you do something his statement to police is well I know that
my brother Marcus in the past would when he would carjack somebody he would also
take the drive and kidnap them so he could later then take them to an ATM and get money from
the ATM using their bank card and so his he's got an answer for everything as do
all the other four [ __ ] he States look I just thought that he was going to take him with the bank card and they're
going to go get some money I had no idea that they were going to murder him well
that's where I go back and I say okay well we've already proved that you knew that there was going to be a carjacking
your own statement basically says and almost proves to me not 100% but pretty darn close to it that Marcus and Eric
Boyd were very likely planning to kidnap somebody and I actually believe that Marcus and Eric Boyd were planning on K
on kidnapping two individuals and I think that's why they wanted a third guy to be the driver right because we've
discussed this on this show plenty of times when we talked about kidnapping whe whether it be an adult kidnapping a
child or a killer kidnapping a woman or so on and so forth any any different version of that that you want to think
about we've talked about how difficult it can be to try to control your captive and and operate the
vehicle at the same time it's difficult well guess what when you got two guys in
the car with the two kidnapped with guns with guns and then you got a third guy driving the the vehicle that you arrived
in you've really now started to create some structure and some control regarding this scenario well and let
let's back up for a second on the idea of lalis saying well I just thought they were going to take him to the ATM I
didn't know that he was going to murder him well lalis you must be tripping because you
witness this guy get tortured and raped and you just think that they're just going to take him to ATM
like you must be tripping there there is some difficulty in determining when um the actual rape uh that you're talking
about took place whether it was before leaving the house or or after you know if it would have been out by the
railroad tracks right but he was also Sodom sodomized so do they not know if that was before or after I I'm
using what I could find from the from law enforcement law enforcement says they know what happened to them they
they're unclear if it happened before leaving the house or after leaving house well I'm not I'm not apologizing to
lalis for that no I'm not I'm not asking you to apologize lalis why you're listening to this no I'm not asking you
to apologize to you you dirt bag I'm just saying when we're going through and we're TR you know we we're saying that
we're tear through this a little bit and try to come closer to the truth you all
of their statements plus what we know from uh law enforcement right but um regardless I mean it would make
unfortunately it would make more sense that it went down at the house um it sounds like they were there for a
certain for a decent length of time which makes me wonder that that it had to have gone down that way and the other
thing I want to point out too here because there there have been some people that have approached me and said
well Nick how can you well carel how can you say that you really believe that that all of them knew what was
happening and all of them knew what was going down because you have lalis who would straight straight up say that
Vanessa didn't know what was going on he you you must be tripping but here's the
problem that house is like it's like an 850 squ foot home that's it's a very small home number one and going through
some of these statements that I found these are the the offenders the perpetrators own words according
according to their statements many of the rooms were not separated by a door we're talking about a home that didn't
if you walked from one room to a bedroom there might not be a door separating that yeah and I have statements from I
believe it's Vanessa in particular that states there was no door on the room that the girl he she just refers to uh
Shannon as the girl there's no door to that room so um if in fact those statements are true if they're telling
the truth about there being no doors we're talking about a very small dwelling with not a lot of separation
from room to room right so if you are in this house and this stuff is going on you are aware of it there's no getting
around that there's no getting around that and and then we have lalis who says she offered me she offered me oral sex
which we know is a straightup lie I mean he's he's saying the reason let's break
this down though well and we argued back and forth on I didn't want to put that in because I just thought it was kind of
[ __ ] it's a [ __ ] statement we know he's lying but we kind of decided to keep that in based on the idea that
there's a lot of [ __ ] statements and and his testimony and to really to paint the kind of picture of who this
individual is it it helps to leave it in well that statement in itself is is okay
so if you find yourself sitting on the fence and wondering well I have this thing here I'm not quite certain if it's
a lie I have this other thing here might be a lie I don't know I don't know and then you hear that that's the Tipping
Point man that's where you're like oh [ __ ] well this is obviously a lie so all
these other things that I have mixed emotions on and mixed feelings about they're probably all lies too it's it's
the it's the easiest way to very quickly understand his character and his huge lack of any type of good
character at all yeah so um one thing I and I don't recall if we did it or not but when I was pushing to leave that
part in just for reasons we discussed is a good reason to leave it in but I also
wanted to include and I don't know if we did or not um the statements from Shannon Christian's father who
unfortunately her family had to sit in the courtroom and hear this guy sit on the stand and lie and because of the
structure of that particular hearing they were not able to get up on the stand and say that guy's lying yeah you
know they this guy he's saying slanderous things against our daughter who he eventually was in involved in her
murder and we're not allowed to possibly her rape right we're not allowed well let's get into that that's that's a
good point a good time to bring that up because I absolutely believe that he raped her 100% I'll tell you why because
that whole thing of she offered me oral sex that's left out of his original statements his original statements was
he had no kind of physical interaction with her at all right the problem with that is remember in his statement that
he gave that we played here he States well y'all be tripping well when he ejaculated some God on on her shirt
right and um so I let her give me oral sex so what happens here Captain is we have law enforcement he's tell law
enforcement he didn't have any physical interaction with her no sexual rape or anything like that yeah then they go and
they go yeah guess what dude we found your DNA on her shirt yeah you dumb piece of [ __ ] that's what we found so
how you going to get out of that and then he makes up this story about this this and this now the interesting thing
though too is when you go back and you review Vanessa Coleman's was questioned by police I believe four times and every
time that they talk to her she tells them a little more and a little more and I think it's in her third or fourth
statement given to police she says that she peaked in the room and saw lalis on top of the girl remember she just calls
her the girl yeah and so this is a whole different act than what lalis tries to tell the jury or the judge I'm sorry
that was going down well and that makes me believe that you know that makes me believe that the guy
was raped at the house I I just based off that statement well and I think that Marcus was
probably involved in some um mail on maale stuff in prison yeah um and then Eric Boyd later when he was eventually
arrested they found all kind of homosexual um pornography on his on his phone right um so it's a little unclear
clear who who initiated that portion of this attack or who was involved in that portion um but again it's 850 Square ft
with very few doors it's it's if you're there you're involved just by being there yeah and I mean both in both of
these cases and it could be wrong with Shannon and with Chris the other issue then becomes not only is there signs of
rape but there signs of basically those areas being beat with something mhm and um uh I don't know I mean and look we
get it's it doesn't bother me that some people didn't like the episode I I like con anytime there's criticism
construction constructive criticism I welcome it we've welcomed it from the beginning I mean that's why the show has
changed so much is we we want to know what people are what they like about cases what they don't at the end of the
day we're going to produce the show how the [ __ ] we want to period That's just
what's going to happen we thought it was an we thought it was a very interesting
way to tell this story and not to have to sit there and talk about all these gruesome details and some of that stuff
is like you can look it up online I love when people go well they didn't they didn't uh they left out some of the
details we left out none of the details as far as the gruesome details yeah they were left out
if you want to Google that [ __ ] go go ahead and Google it you know like we're not we're not producing a show or
talking about a case where we feel like we if there was a th000 points that we have to talk about all thousand points
and every detail of them so I think uh but a lot of people you know I like I didn't mind when somebody said I didn't
like the episode cuz I missed the the format the format of the show mhm that didn't you know didn't bother me that
you tune into the show because the show has some Banner the show discusses certain topics or whatever and you grown
to like the two individuals that are giving out the information and you didn't want to maybe hear the
information from this douchebag but we just thought it was an interesting way to cover it and some
people love the fact that we covered it that way trying something different and I'll never apologize for doing anything
cuz one I'll just go and produce the show however I want um well as long as the colonel agrees obviously but we're
also interested in trying things and and trying to make the show better we'll take chances and we'll never apologize
for that well then we have Vanessa Coleman and this this is a big issue with this
case and all has been since the day that they started making arrest here and actually she her and Eric Boyd were the
two that it seems to be um were the most difficult to bring to court bring to trial wasn't it Eric Boyd that was he
was even out for I mean they had arrested him but didn't weren't they having trouble bringing uh well well
it's also because of the second trial mhm the second trial because the whatever the I can't remember off the
top of my head whatever the judge did basically he the judge was addicted to painkillers basically and he was trading
um after he developed this addiction he had some kind of injury that got him hooked on pain colors right and
eventually he became addicted and he was giving courtroom favors to um hand jobs
well no he's he's in charge of the Court he's in charge of of people sentencing and how the how the court proceedings
take place so he let them give him a hand job no he's getting he's getting painkillers and trade for um making the
the court system a little easier for the individual um so and he he did a few other things as well but
jobs no sorry but um yeah so there ended up being this second trial but I I think
there was problem so no but there was a problem with arresting him in the first like like the first getting the first
charges to go through yeah because the other thing that was very interesting was the whole their t uh Lam
Marcus's timeline and L talis's timeline um Boyd had I believe had some Alibis for some of that
time period mhm so then it becomes well because he didn't stick around as long as these others stayed at the house yeah
yeah and then he claims that he was in the back room that's where his room was he was in the back room and that's the
room that basically everybody claims that's where the girl was held but then he claims that when he came back she
wasn't held there I would have known it was my room so there's discrepancy there
according to uh Vanessa and lat talis's statements Shannon would have been held in Marcus's
room oh in Marcus's room yeah okay so but there was two okay there there would have been two back rooms CU at at one
point one of Boyd's friends is in the jail housee questioning him and she goes well but it's like his girlfriend or
something's on the phone with him right and she's saying well how could you not know because she was put in the back
room that's what they said and he was like well I don't know she wasn't in my room she's like but your room's the back
room well yeah but she wasn't put in my room that's that's where confusion is well and he didn't do anything to help
himself with with his statements to law enforcement because his statement his story you know and and we're not going
to tear through his story because his story is the most ridiculous out of all of them he basically says look I didn't
have any involvement in this yes I was in the house yes I knew that they took a girl hostage whatever happened to her
whatever is is what happened to her you know it didn't have anything to do with me I'm not responsible I didn't know who
she was well you have a responsibility as a human being and as a citizen to call that in to phone that in to tell
somebody that there's a there's a huge law being broke right here and there's someone's civil you know someone's
constitutional rights are being taken from them well and his his story was you know I apologize if anybody hears Frank
barking in the background we we have a guy fixing a pipe in the garage or outside the garage and and the dog
Frank's on guard and Frank keeps barking at him poor poor guys out there in the cold digging a ditch and Frank won't
shut up so what I heard from the second trial because they had to throw some things
out from the first trial that this whole Eric Boyd case was going to be very difficult because of the conflicting
stories and if there's so much conflicting stories maybe that you would just uh rule out either either or or
both of the stories and then he would just get free but when his girlfriend or I think it was just a friend like a
family friend or whatever but the family friend at some point in the conversation
said you know you were in that house you know she was in that house she was in a
trash can in bags dying with bleach down her throat and you had to know that she was
there you should have called the cops this girl did not deserve to get what she got right and he he comes back with
because he's trying to play cool that's the other thing about these grown ass grown ass men always I love when these
grown ass men just try to be cool oh I got to try to be cool I got to try to act tough and he says she goes you
should have called the cops you knew you should have called the police he goes would have should have could
have but can't do anything about it now well that would have should have could have they played over and over at
your trial and that's one of the reasons that you're sentenced to life well in Marcus remember him saying that he had
he wasn't even at the house they were able to prove too that his palm prints were on at least one of the trash bags
in that kitchen Lamarcus yeah yeah yeah well he goes by Marcus and it's actually
Lam maricus but it's it much easier to say Marcus and that's what he went by um then we have well but that's what's so
weird is you would think he goes by Marcus so it'd be Lam Marcus mhm but technically it's if you look at
it it's l a r i c us that's what I want is I'm going to name my my child lamus well so Vanessa Coleman is has
been a tricky thing in this whole situation because there's a lot of people myself included that when I first
looked at this and I mean years ago when it happened um my first thought was well what role
did she play in this how guilty is she is she in fact some kind of victim or whatnot but when you really pour into
this case and you really dive into it and even again even her own statements to law
enforcement she she was she doesn't outrightly say that she was involved she's always maintains that she didn't
do anything to physically harm either of the kidnapped victims right uh or take part in either of their murders and most
of the statements given by the other perpetrators they don't really include her in the actual murders however again
law enforcement really knocked us out of the park because they're going to come at her later and because they realize
that they're able to find uh it's like trace or touch DNA or some kind of fingerprint of hers on Shannon Christian
so she at least had some kind of physical interaction with the murdered victim yeah now look I'm going
to I think we disagree we talked about this before but that's what the show is about is is what happens not on the show
and one of the things that we talked about again same with with you when I was looking into this case is there an
injustice here that we're charging U Vanessa with I think the original account was like 57 years or something
like that so I something like that 57 years so she's not going to get life but she gets a lot of parole opportunities
too right but 57 years that that's the first charge we'll get to the second charge later but that makes you start
wondering if this is four white guys that had attacked two individuals kidnapped raped tortured
murdered two individuals four white guys guys and a white girl would the white girl get
off I'm not going to say either way of what what I think but I'd say my gut feeling would be all you have
is some touch DNA on their arm I think they'd be more willing to um be a little more lenient and possibly
not even charge her because let's just think about this way this house is so small that Vanessa knows what's going on
in these house in this house I couldn't imagine being a female I mean I don't know how tall she is I think I read
somewhere that she was 5'2 she's small you have four grown men that are abusing two victims mhm and that
you've seen a gun now okay so the fear base there would I think would be way so letavis
can sit there and say all all he wants you know I scared and all this stuff look you can stand up for yourself
right but I don't know if she could in that situation but what I do know she could have done is I'm sure at some
point she had the and I think we went over this in the case before there was multiple times
where she was left with one individual and was yeah she was left with George Thomas during the hijacking during the
carjacking she was left just with lalis during the killing of Chris Nome right and so there's multiple situations where
I think she could at least tried to leave um that all being said what's interesting though too is
based on the second trial it went from 50 some years down to 36 I believe and then she has a lot of lot of
possibilities for parole so basically she would be serving roughly two months for every year mhm so I think in that
case but but that just makes me wonder I mean we don't know the truth and and and
it would there be touch DNA on one of these victims it's very possible well she's sitting in
a couch while they walked by him you know what I mean I I don't know but I but I think
because I don't buy her story fully and because she changes it multiple times so
that's where I went from was there an injustice here to all her stories are changing multiple times all there's
evidence that she at least came in physical contact with one of the victims and her sentence was not life in jail so
I I do believe Justice was served there well the so the evidence does that make any sense yeah I see what you're saying
but the the there's a couple I don't know that I agree I don't know that I want to get too far into it but so she's
granted immunity at the state level the issue here is that there are federal crimes that were committed during the
course of these other crimes that were committed so she offers up information we give you Immunity on the state level
because that's all we have authorization to Grant you and guess what the federal
government can come after you if they so choose to do um keep in mind kidnapping
is a federal crime so um therefore a lot of the other crimes that were committed
because there was a federal crime such as kidnapping committed then those are um those can be tried at the federal
level for the most part as well so what we have here is though with with her statements it's not until her final
statement does she state that well you you found evidence of me having physical interaction with Shannon Christian
because Marcus made me take her pulse made me try to take her pulse after he thought that he had killed her and the
problem with that is we have nobody else's statements saying that same thing right we also don't she she fails to
point that out to law enforcement until they force her hand until they force her
hand to say hey we know you had you touched her right so why did you touch her why and what in all reality what
probably happened was she was probably assisting in some way in either the torture the beating or at very least
holding Christian down right and that's why the the the evidence they find on her is near the wrist it's not because
she was checking for a pulse it was because she was holding the arm of the victim down while things were going on
yeah most likely that's right again though it's like if her story is true then you just go why didn't he come out
with this earlier and so it's like well yeah that's what I mean like okay if you're if we've offered you immunity and
you are you're you're trying to provide us with information so we can lock up these other individuals that you say
threatened you that you say um you were led to have no choice in this then why didn't you you don't forget taking the
pulse of a woman that that might be dead right you don't forget that I'm sure at
some point they probably ask her to did you have any physical contact with any any any of these
individuals um and that's might when you might want might be when you want to speak up and say hey this is uh what
happened well and she according to her statements but she probably was tripping when you think about it colonel they all
be tripping yeah but AC like you pointed out earlier according to her statements
these are her words yeah the only individual out of the four that threatened her was Marcus and we know of
at least two situations where she was at home without Marcus right for a good length of time and decided to do nothing
yeah but that's what I'm saying I also as much as lat talis's story is [ __ ] he time and time
again is saying Vanessa had nothing to do with this cuz he needs her to because well no I understand that but what I'm
saying is I do think there is some truth to that but also we've talked about this
before I think uh Marcus for example he he he was going to do this no matter what
he's this is just what kind of individual he is I actually think he and Eric Boyd both were going to do this no
matter what yeah and but now we have individuals like George and lalis and and Vanessa that are just absolutely
weak horrible it's hard to even call them human because they act in such a way that that is not and I just think um but
we both I think agree that they probably wouldn't have done this like I I still think the the mentality that you have
that you're going to look the other way or that you're going to join in on the gang
mentality that that will lead you down to some bumpy roads and they would have some running with the law later down the
line would they be involved in a double homicide whether there was rape and torture I don't know well and I think
that that's ultimately why we have we see different sentences you know different perpetrators in this crime
were given different sentences um but it doesn't minimize what you did and what you didn't do
right and it it's like that can never be forgiven yeah you're no you're no more innocent no less guilty than anyone
involved in this no you know it's I mean and this is one of the group you know we
had this you know listener that was sitting there going you didn't talk about the details what happened to
Shannon and what happened to Chris you didn't talk about the details the details are are part of their
story no Shannon and Chris were way more than what happened to them what happened to them is awful and
horrendous and sadly is what they're going to be remembered as and that's sad that we're not going to remember them as
the great people that they were and all the opportunities that they were going to have in the future to be great people
and what what would happened then and what mark would they have left on the world and I I just I I don't know why I
got so pissed off I got so pissed off when I read that that that I denied them of of their identity and their story no
this is something that happened to them this is not what makes them who they are
