our lives were turned upside down on June 12th of 1994 yeah um I think I just saw OJ on
the 5way he's heading north for the suspect is in the back of the vehicle OJ was in the back of the
Bronco my dad was on the phone with him not encouraging him to take his own life
has a handgun the suspect is armed my dad was juice don't do this you got two kids our private life were gone we had
security guards around our house 24 hours a day death threats coming in almost every day for I mean we're
talking like months we the jury and the developed en tile action the defendant or orthal James Simpson not
guilty it became a racial issue and it was ugly and it just it made me sit back and go wow there's so much hate you know
and I just was not raised with that shortly after Nicole was killed I got a phone call and it was OJ and he's like
you know I loved your sister you know I would have I would have taken a bullet for your sister and I don't know what
his motive was behind that but it was very narcissistic Nicole was a mom she put
her kids first she put everybody else first my sister had the ability to live life live it bright live it large um and
just she she she had fun 10 years after Nicole got killed I was put into a psych
wward for 10 days impatient locked up and then I was an an Alpa program for two and a half months everybody Grieves
differently and mine you know caught up with me 10 years later finding peace amid the chaos my escape from depression
and suicide is a new conversation if I lived in the tragedy I'd be a miserable bitter person does it
still affect me absolutely she was my sister it hurts me you know it breaks my heart but at the same time we can't make
our tragedy our identity we can identify with it to make our lives better

It's been 20 years since the murder of her sister, but Tanya Brown tells "48 Hours" she still remembers the infamous Bronco chase and the O.J. Simpson trial like it was yesterday.
