so set the scene for me what kind of a place is this well Behind These Hedges are the most expensive homes in America
I mean one of them was sold 4 years ago for $95 million cash and the people who live there usually come from November to
about April and during that period of time they were going to parties just about every other night who are the sort
of Main Stays of Palm Beach Society families the historic of Fortunes in this country the the fortunes from the
late 1800 1900 and then you have the new money some of the people who AR famous for the last 25 30 years right around
the corn is where Rush limbo lives boy these houses are unbelievable was there ever a recession here yes my favorite
story is I had a limo driver who was driving one of the um ladies who was preparing for a party and on one line
she was ordering the food for the party on on the other phone her husband calls and tells her listen we're pretty much
ruined and she sort of doesn't get it her first question was can we still have a party and the second question can we
still get the caviar and the answer apparently from what she told the caterer on the other line is hold the
caviar but the party is on well they're suffering and they're suffering so as the gu gossip columnist
in Palm Beach are people glad to see you when you show up sometimes they are sometimes they're not you know before I
try to ask if I can go to a party and mingle I'm always cognizant of the fact that either I did write something nasty
about the people who live there or they're really happy with what I did so you know it's a it's a function of your
last story sort of
