Father of recovering heroin addict speaks out | Forensic Files

I didn't know that James had ever done heroin until he ODed for the first time I got a call that he was taken by
ambulance to the hospital and that he was you know unconscious and I got into the room and they told me that he
overdosed on heroin that's when I first knew my name is Jeff lindblum and my son
is James lindblum I only know of one person that I grew up with that died of heroin um one person
and my son so far he's had nine we watch news and news programs and they talk about all this that it's out
there and it's on the streets but never thinking even the kids in the neighborhood nothing more difficult than
walking seeing your kid not in his bedroom knowing that he's home and walking downstairs into the office and
seeing him slumped in front of a chair not knowing if he's alive and there's needles sitting out on that
desk nothing can explain that nothing it's not like the house is cleaned out one day you know a little
bit here a little bit there a little bit here a little bit there I'd heard even from James himself saying that other
boys were you know staging robberies in their own home so that they could steal their stuff and sell it and not get in
trouble I have cried I have prayed my family my wife and I have both cried both prayed
both done everything we possibly can to give him the opportunity whether it be through um
medical programs educational programs support programs just love to help him we have done everything we possibly
could
