Guys, we have a big update in the Josh Davis homicide case that we covered last week on Crime Junkie's YouTube. And this
happened right after our episode aired. Everyone, I'm Briana Whitney, Crime Junkie's breaking news reporter. And if
you are following the Crime Junkie YouTube page, you saw our episode last week on 16-year-old Josh Davis's
homicide case. It was cold for a lot of years. It happened in 2004 where he was allegedly hit by a car, but
it may not be that he was hit by a car. He actually may have been hit by something that somebody had in a car
that was passing by. So, this whole case was cold for years until very recently when the police in Garner, North
Carolina served a search warrant on this woman, Megan Potter, and it was such a groundbreaking development because she
is a police officer in Four Oaks. Reason she became a part of this investigation
was because her ex-husband told police years ago that she had confessed to being involved in Josh Davis's homicide.
In that search warrant, they are looking at computers, cell phones, and actually
looked inside her home. At the time that we were working on this story, Megan Potter was on paid admin leave. But now
there's been a major development. Our episode aired last week and we learned around the exact same time, Megan Potter
was demoted from detective to patrol officer and she is now on unpaid admin leave. That was first reported by WRAL.
And I talked to Josh Davis's sister. She said that there's been a lot of chatter
in the community since this. There's hopefully going to be more developments soon. I know that they are hopeful
they're going to learn more. So, we will absolutely keep you updated. But really,
this is the first major development we've had since that search warrant was served back in March. Megan Potter is
still not facing any charges. We will keep you up to date as we learn more in Josh Davis's homicide case.
