48 hours is investigating a bizarre murder and how a stash of explicit photos may be the key to solving the
case a San Diego area woman named Jade jenss says she discovered hundreds of photos of herself on her stepfather's
computer soon after her stepfather was found dead the evidence points to an overdose but as Tracy Smith reports for
this week's 48 Hours the case far from clear it was New Year's Day 2021 when a strange call came in to the San Diego
Sheriff's Department Last Night A friend of mine asked me to come over she said that she had possibly killed her stepdad
the accused woman was Jade jenss an interior decorator she lived next door to the alleged victim Tom maramman her
stepfather assistant district attorney Jorge Del portio says the CER had more to say he told sheriff's deputies she
confessed to drugging him suffocating him and strangling him to death the call triggered a search for maramman his body
was soon discovered in his own driveway hidden under this pile of trash jenss was arrested and charged with his murder
but she said she was innocent maramman had been in poor health Janks said he'd fallen asleep in her car and the next
morning she'd found him dead she says she panicked and tried to hide his body when the autopsy came back it seemed to
support js's story prosecutors had expected evidence of murder instead it said maramman died of a prescription
drug overdose in December 2022 the case went to trial I mean did you want your stepfather
dead it turns out that just 10 days before maran's death jenss had discovered hundreds of her private
explicit photos on his computer it was the most violating just awful gutr wring feeling
ever but jenss insisted she didn't kill maramman did you stand over him with a plastic bag and pull tight to keep them
from breathing but prosecutors Dell Portillo and Teresa fam said they discovered text messages that told a
