Here are three things you need to know, in the Nolan Wells case.
18-year-old Nolan Wells went out on a boat with friends to Horn Island off the coast of Mississippi on the Fourth of July but never returned with them. His body was found in the water two days later near where he was last seen.
Now, civil rights attorney Ben Crump is representing Nolan’s parents, a private second autopsy has been conducted, and the state’s autopsy and toxicology findings are expected to be presented to a Mississippi grand jury. Meanwhile, three arrests have been made in the broader investigation involving alleged threats against witnesses, their families, a local judge, and the sheriff’s department.
There have been no arrests in connection with Nolan’s death, and questions about what happened to him remain.
