For months, police searched Indiana for Nikki McAllen's missing car. But her car
wasn't actually in Indiana. You see, after Nikki vanished, detectives went back to the laundromat where she was
last seen. They were interviewing people like regulars over again, but no one saw
anything suspicious. Indiana State Police even put a few helicopters up over Richmond looking for the GMC that
she was driving. They're thinking like, you find the car, then you'll find Nikki. But week after week, they found
nothing because the car wasn't in Indiana. Richmond sits right on the border of Ohio, and Nikki worked in
Dayton. She'd lived there before. But because she was last seen in Indiana, investigators focus almost entirely on
Indiana. And Ohio became a bit of a blind spot. And then more than 3 months later, this sheriff's deputy in Ohio
notices a car with the door just like hanging open at an apartment complex. And it's the GMC that Nikki had been
driving, parked at the Meadows of Katalpa. The lock was damaged, the ignition was tampered with, the stereo
was gone, but something was left in the back seat. Nikki's laundry basket with folded clothes. So, the question is, who
put the car there and when?
