So, an anonymous letter led to evidence in Mary Yoder's murder, but it was almost too perfect. So, in 2015,
6-year-old chiropractor Mary Yoder died suddenly. Like, one day she is happy, healthy, and within 48 hours she was
gone. Toxicology later revealed that she'd been poisoned with colchicine, which is
this prescription gout medication that had no reason to be in her system. So, police started looking at the obvious
suspects, right? Like, her husband, Bill. And then out of nowhere, this letter just arrives. It's typewritten on
a typewriter, completely anonymous, and the letter said that Mary's own son, Adam, had poisoned her. And it claimed
that the bottle of colchicine that he used was still in his Jeep, specifically under the passenger seat. So, police
searched it, and sure enough, there it was, right under the passenger seat, just like the letter claimed.
And right next to it was the receipt that tied an email address to it, misteradamyoder1998@gmail.com.
So, case closed, right? I mean, that's what it looked like. Except, investigators could not shake this
feeling that something was wrong, because when evidence just like comes to you this
neatly, you got to wonder, was it placed there? What if the anonymous letter wasn't solving the crime,
but staging it?
