participated in recreating the events what you are about to see is not a news broadcast March 1990 NATO tracking
stations and Belgium pick up a strange unidentified aircraft on radar the Belgian air force deploys two fighter
jets to intercept the intruder only to have a dart out of range and disappear at supersonic speed it is the most
dramatic of thousands of recent UFO sightings invented in the late 1960s rock creek ohio is besieged by a wild
gang of street toughs a Robert Hamrick took charge of a police force he was determined to run the gang out of town
six months later Hamrick was killed in a suspicious car accident Philip Breen is
a successful businessman with a remarkable knack for making money and for taking money in 1990 he vanished
after defrauding his employer out of millions of dollars and leaving his unsuspecting wife to pay the debt also a
woman's search for her long-lost mother's finally ended thanks to our viewers join me for their heartwarming
reunion solve mysteries [Music] Brussels Belgium is known as the capital of capitals an ancient city of charm and
elegance it was seemed unlikely that old-world Brussels would be the focal point of a very contemporary controversy
since the fall of 1989 several thousand people from all walks of life and reported that Belgium as being
invaded from the skies basically what we saw is this big triangle object with three bright white
lightning in the corners and it was in mobile above the motorway in the middle was a flashing red light it passed by
approaching the roofs since it was flying so low you could see three white lights which formed an equilateral
triangle what exactly is it that thousands of people have been seeing in the night sky over Belgium these
drawings were generated from the testimony of hundreds of eyewitnesses almost without fail they described an
immense triangular object with bright lights at the corners and another light in the center then on July 11th 1991 an
extraordinary press conference was held high-ranking members of the Belgian military briefed the media on a UFO
which Air Force jets had attempted to chase down and remarkably have recorded on their radar screens tonight we will
show you the evidence presented at that conference for the first time on American television UFO sightings here
in the United States have traditionally been met with skepticism in most cases justified by government and military
officials the reports have elicited either denials or in most cases a simple no comment but you are about to see is a
first this story was filmed with a complete cooperation of the Belgian Air Force in the shaandaar Marie a national
law enforcement agency Belgium lies in the southeast edge of the North Sea bordered by Germany France Luxembourg
and the Netherlands the mystery of the Belgian UFOs began on the night of November 29th 1989 just outside of the
small town of you pan less than seven miles from a German border Jean dimes Heinrich Nico and he bare von
won t even a routine patrol Hey and I got Runa yes mr. Chuck let's go set up all
support shoulder as we approach the crossroads no horse rode our attention was drawn to an unusual sight we saw a
field near the road that was all lit up it was like a football field though a garage we thought it was strange and of
course we wanted to know what was causing those lights ask mom all along so she pulled over to
the side of the wall Noma platform there was a huge triangular platform and underneath it
the strong headlights and in the middle was this blinking or processing orange light the whole thing was floating in
the air [Music] open dispatch these colorful multitudes immediately call the dispatcher Anupam
Albert Kreutz as if we saw safer sex ed I'm only missing ya know suddenly they told me they were seeing a strange
object in the sky he saw me it made no noise on a blog he joked about it and said it might be Santa Claus trying to
land the service area ya ya quelque chose locked in a pod telephony approval corralled and bound to our senior para
maana we detail over what that's noted the unusual report on his log but remains skeptical
luminaria Wartrol [Music] yeah the shonda rhimes follow the unknown object is a sword across the
belgian countryside toward hippo blue Hotel poubelle ofwhat you'd see it here because the headlights were very
strong we could also see the flickering orange board underneath ago we were driving very slowly because it seemed
like there was someone in that object he killed and that someone was trying to observe what was happening on earth if
it is bhature frenzy sputter moments later a strange light flashed across the window of crisis office in new pond
[Music] over $1 away it often the distance I could see something bright but I didn't
know what it was but suddenly I saw something that looked like a laser beam shoot out of the light and then come
back to the light [Music] we continue to observe the object as it's circled over the city a Lupin
it's appeared to be heading to the forest Jean Durham Nicole and his partner were
mesmerised they began to suspect that this visitor had some special purpose it did a party on each side of the object
there was a kind of laser beam and a ball that was leaving the object and coming back as if the ball were to
measure something so it was easy for us to keep track of it in the sky when Nicole next called it a dispatch Kreutz
reported that he had contacted four local airports each had reported no unusual activity in the skies followed
for a full thirty minutes the shonda rhimes watched in awe as the object hovered in the distance then the
remarkable episode took another unexpected turn at the convenience all of a sudden it came out of nowhere
little Fievel the one who had been following was still over there and now the second one was rising up into the
sky at a given moment tipped it slightly we could see again the shape of a triangle with bright headlights and one
in the middle it was exactly like the first object we could see some kind of dome on the top with two or three small
windows and there was a light inside the object by the time we realized what it was the object fell away
[Music] moments later whatever doubts dispatcher Kreutz still had evaporated not tea
through the open window I saw a strange machine floating about 500 feet away from me it looked like a large ship
floating in the air it drifted in front of me for a few seconds then flew away in the direction of La Cala mean it was
a horrible thing to see her shape six minutes later two other Jean dimes encountered a similar object to the
small village of la colony eight miles to the north oh no the desert ecology had held our
colleagues talking about this flying object in the beginning we thought it was some sort of joke but then we saw
something it wasn't funny anymore innovative so both of us had a strange feeling it was impossible to explain
what the object was we thought it was an American airplane or something we had no
other explanation for what it might be but it was real it was above us then another object was
leaving the main object it was a red light pulsating and descending vertically forms object it turn to the
right side and moved off behind the building according to Jean de primo and his colleague the episode culminated
with a stunning climax the crafts seem to transform into a single beam of light then it disappeared
all four of these extraordinary sightings occurred within 20 miles in one hour of each other that same day 11
other sound arms and more than 100 private citizens came forward with similar reports suddenly Belgium was
buzzing with talk of UFOs that remarkable evening in 1989 was just the beginning of an incredible wave of
sightings which continues to this day it may seem unbelievable but when we return we'll present startling evidence
of the first acknowledged military tracking of a UFO a video radar recording provided by the Belgian Air
Force which has never been seen before by the American public [Music] on November 29th 1989 Jean Dom's and
Belgian reported sightings of an unidentified flying object over the next few months hundreds of witnesses would
come forward all describing a similar triangular object then in April of 1990 this extraordinary photograph was taken
it shows the same array of lights which was described by the eyewitnesses by using a computer to enhance the film's
contrast the triangular shape becomes clearly visible that remarkable image is currently being
analyzed by scientists in Belgium it offered what many believe is the first photographic evidence that UFOs was
recording the Belgian sky in the last two years Belgian authorities have been deluged by thousands of sightings the
difficult task of deciphering and coordinating the reports has been undertaken by a privately funded
organization of scientists and citizens known as so BAPS working hand-in-hand with the Belgian military in a jean de
Marie so BEPS opened lines of communication and set up procedures anticipating future encounters they did
not have to wait very long in March of 1990 the next wave of Belgian UFO sightings began captain
Jacques past summer the Jean de Marie was called to a residence outside of Brussels when dinner guests reported a
series of strange lights in the sky these points of light were very different than the other stars they were
much bigger and much brighter and not the color of stars the main colors were reddish or yellow and the others were
green later they began to travel short distances in an erratic manner thirty miles away at a NATO tracking station
radar had detected an unknown object to the exact location the dinner guests have reported seeing the lights it
showed up as a COS circling with a tail in the lower left quadrant of the radar screen we phoned to order civilian and
military radar sites like same exact burtom santa bear and they had precisely the same echo at the same place we were
unable to identify this echo as being either enemy either friendly it was not very clear for us that it was an
aircraft can you check the pending confirmation we have four different radar stations the belgian air force was
all over something very unusual was in the skies over Belgium yes coming [Music]
two f-16s from the Belgian Air Force were immediately deployed our mission to locate and identify the object
the pilots gave chase and soon locked onto the object with onboard radar Delta five seven this is to confirm that we
now have a lock-on but after just five seconds the object bolted out of range at a blistering speed we measured some
exceptional accelerations which cannot be related to conventional aircraft that is that is clear for the next hour the
pilots reported that the object seemed to be playing a high-tech game of cat and mouse
each time they achieved lock-on the object darted out of range the pilots confirmed that it was
impossible for them to accelerate as quick as to target was doing an examination of the onboard radar footage
astonished the military this is a portion of the actual footage recorded that evening the UFO appears in the
center of the screen is a diamond shape the figure in the upper right-hand corner indicates the altitude of the
object in thousands of feet and the pilots first locked on the object was at 7,000 feet but within seconds it had
climbed at 10,000 feet then incredibly the object plummeted to just 500 feet in a span of only five seconds
at the same time the object accelerated to 990 knots more than 1,000 miles per hour
halftimes a speed of sound this fantastic combination of acceleration and descent would have been fatal to a
human pilot and there is yet one additional energy even though the craft exceeded the speed
of sound remarkably no one on the ground ever reported hearing a sonic boom the data done at all these performances
which who are registered during the locum of the radar it was totally outside of the normal
performance envelope of any airplane despite the fact that the UFOs have been observed by thousands of eyewitnesses
despite the fact that they even recorded on military radar and despite the fact that one unknown object is easily evaded
sophisticated high-tech fighter jets skeptics continue to dismiss the sightings as nothing more than mass UFO
hysteria they believe that the radar reports can be attributed to false echoes or changes in atmospheric
conditions some people don't believe us the things we have seen to believe us it
doesn't matter to me but I have seen something and what else can I say it was not some invention of my mind it
happened just as I have said I got out of the car and hovering over us was a big black trying
it was very dark the triangle had a large light on top of it and the light circled around while the triangle
remained it's suspended in the air there have been thousands of observations in Belgium and I think it's it's sort of
job to try to find out if there is really something in the air where it comes from what the origin is and what
the intentions are indeed there is something going on in Belgium which is beyond our control
[Music] there is one curious fact which bears mentioning despite thousands of sightings in Belgium there have been
just a handful of UFOs reported in the neighboring countries of France Germany and the Netherlands for skeptics this is
additional proof that the sightings are nothing more than fantasy however some people speculate that the objects may be
attracted of Belgium's highway system which is so brightly lit at night that it was visible even to the astronauts on
the moon [Music] a September 26 1991 an emotional joyous reunion took place in Temple Hills
Maryland thanks to our viewers Mary Maxwell and Carla downing came together as mother and daughter for the
first time grandmother girls are here I got my homework done moans I think good it all began in 1965 when Carla was 16
years old shortly after her mother's death she met a mysterious woman at her grandparents
house this is Mary Mary was a friend of your mom's in high school hey you look fair familiar at the time Carla had no
idea who the woman really was Karla darling had grown up in a happy close-knit family but shortly after her
brother was born she began to feel that she somehow did not fit in the whole time I was growing up always needed yeah
there was just something not right mainly because of the difference between my brother and I he had blue eyes and
blond hair and it was curly you know I had straight dark hair dark eyes olive complexion it was just obvious to me
even that we just weren't alike but until her father's death in 1990 did Connors tangled family history finally
begin to unravel this belong to your dad and he wanted you to have it in her father's briefcase she would come across
documents which unveil a startling family secret the father and mother who raised her were not her natural parents
Karla learned that in 1948 her mother Mildred met a recent immigrant from Belgium named Mary Mary was all alone
and pregnant she knew that she would be unable to care for her baby the two women concocted a scheme to
switch ID cards in the hospital her name is Mildred Graham failed in doing so builded would be listed on the birth
certificate as Carla's mother I just had this need to find Mary I want to be in the same room with someone I
resemble I want my mother I want somebody that I've been looking for for a long time on the night of our
broadcast Karla Downing's prayers are finally answered her natural mother Mary Maxwell was still very much alive and
very anxious to see her daughter Karla was also overjoyed to discover she had two half-sisters eight days later Tana
traveler from her home in Tennessee to Maryland where she was finally reunited with her mother
[Music] [Music] I knew it was her I couldn't believe it and all I could say was cool and I ran
out the door and she ran almost tell out the car I think and we couldn't do nothing else but hold each other and
cried [Music] when I saw her for the first time I just can't describe that feeling it's a home
at last I can breathe again it's just the happiest moment in my whole life you know just the happiest moment my
whole life this is your grandfather when they got married it's like a miracle I couldn't believe it I couldn't believe
it for the longest to Isis this this is not happening to us it only happens to other people that they find somebody
they're looking for another us but yet it happened to us when I found out that my mom was alive and healthy and okay
that was just the best news in the world haven't been the extra bonus was I have
two sisters and a nephew so it's it's a happy ending it's a fairytale come true [Music]
next a small-town cop who stood up to a gang of thugs harassing his community and then died under unusual
circumstances [Music] in the late 1960s a group of young men began terrorizing tiny Rock Creek Ohio
once quiet and peaceful Rock Creek became a community held hostage by fear they were involved in fights they were
involved in threats they pretty much had the entire village under their thumb when they spoke the village pretty much
listened at the time a town relied on the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Department for protection but with
limited resources the department seemed unable to stem the crime wave of golfing
Rock Creek the town's people decided to fight back they organized their own Police Department I Robert Henry soundly
swear in July 1969 Robert Hamrick became the third man in less than six months to take charge of
run creeks Police Department his predecessors both left after allegedly receiving threats from members of the
Rock Creek gang but Robert Hamrick was confident that he could clean up the town well come on give him a kiss he
tried to do the best job that he knew how to do he wanted it to be a nice friendly town and he wanted you know to
get these this gang off the streets so that people wouldn't have to be afraid of him
almost immediately chief Hamrick and his family became the targets of a systematic campaign of
harassment they just did anything that they could to aggravate him when they knew he was home then you know he would
get fed up take off out there after him and then at least it would quiet down there by the house
five months after he was sworn in chief Hamrick investigated an abandoned building on the edge of town inside he
found an expensive sports car a check of the license plate revealed that the car
was stolen we come across two found it fingerprinted it and we bugged the building because we didn't know who was
there and we put a bug in the building put a radio in our car and just drove around and listened until the guys come
back Bob was hiding in the office and when they set up by which I've done and busted the suspects were believed to be
members of the Rock Creek gang they were arrested and released on bail shortly after these guys was arrested for the
stolen car is when the threats came in on the telephone and I don't really know how many threats came in because if he
was home most the time he answered the phone but this one day I was in the kitchen and the phone rang
hello it was a man on the other end and he said tell your husband delete things alone and get him out of town or he's
gonna be hurt and he's gonna be hurt bad [Applause] [Applause] 85 to 528 I mean one month later on
March 10th 1970 during the routine patrol the chief Hamrick notified the Sheriff's dispatcher that he was in
pursuit of a car heading west out of town and I own a half past with no further radio contact
finally at around 3 a.m. the dispatcher requested the sheriff's deputies try and
locate the missing chief t1 he had I speed chase Cohen west on calendar Road from route 45 four hours later sheriff's
deputy Denny Chapman discovered Henrik's patrol car on an isolated Road just outside of town
the car had collided with a tree chief chief Hamrick was semi-conscious and barely alive 11 this is 528 send out a
signal 29 chief Hamrick has hurt real bad he had head and facial injuries the right side and west side both
I was surprised to find you moving when I got there you know and then my next thing was to get him to keep him from
moving so that he wouldn't do further injury to himself from the onset the investigating deputy suspected foul play
they found blood covering the backseat Hamrick service revolver a nightstick were missing in fact nothing at the
scene seem consistent with an accident [Music] the patrol car's ignition and light
switches really off position but why would Hamrick who was barely conscious turn off the engine and headlights but
not radio for help [Music] Robert Hamrick never regained consciousness ten days later he died despite
compelling evidence to the contrary am Rick's death was officially ruled an accident I didn't believe that and I
still don't believe to this day that all the injuries that Bob received was a result of that car accident
I believe my husband's death was not a car accident and that he was beaten to death and that it was covered up there's
so many questions and there is evidence and people just have ignored that evidence and they've ignored the
circumstances at the time and what was going on in the village at the time six hours after the crash the car that
Hamrick had been chasing was found at a local gas station it was splattered with mud and had
tired the owner stated that she had taken the car in for repairs of previous day one of the station employees was
known to be a member of the Rock Creek are you driving this car last night no the owner told us when she dropped the
car off the car was in very clean condition there was no flat tires on the car when she dropped it off in fact I
think she was a little surprised that they had to keep it overnight knowing that he was from hung around the Rock
Creek area and I had had trouble with him in the past from answering calls down in the Rock Creek area I felt that
he was directly involved but say early 21 local woman claims that she overheard members of the Rock Creek gang bragging
that they had murdered chief Hamrick then they they were saying we killed us a cop and we got away with it and they
proceeded to tell how they killed him how they beat him in the head they had it all planned they set him up
get him down here on this dirt road and they took his billy club and they started hitting him with
[Music] [Music] they put him back into his car and then they left him there left him to die they
said we'll never get caught and I knew in my heart I knew they were right they would never get caught they were above
the law I've been checking into it for twenty years constantly if somebody actually
hurt that man more than likely I know them probably called him a friend and I would hate to think that somebody that I
knew and somebody that I called a friend would leave a man in the condition he was in there's no way my father's death
could have been an accident because I have read the files and there's enough material in there to
point to other things and I I just can't believe it [Music] I just hope that we find out what
actually happened and if by some miracle we find out who is responsible that they
pay for what they did they took my father from me and they've lived a life thinking that they got away with it for
over 20 years now and I think it's time that they that they got something taken from them the case of Robert Hamrick has
been officially closed for more than 20 years however authorities have prepared to reopen the investigation should any
new evidence come to light next authorities need your help to find a businessman accused of embezzling
millions of dollars every year in the United States thousands of adult men and women
seemingly vanished without a trace sadly in many cases the missing person is a victim of foul play however there
are those who engineer their own disappearances leaving family and friends to wonder not only where they
are but what happened Philip and Kathleen bring her married in Detroit Michigan in the spring of 1988 Philip
was a dashing high-powered corporate executive Kathleen a young successful businesswoman together they enjoy the
good life complete with a vast array of expensive brolic toys apparently paid for by Philips investments of the stock
market for Kathleen the marriage was a dream come true there were a lot of things that were
really great about him I think it was his sense of humor was one thing that I thought was really great and we were
crazy about each other I mean I really love this person and I believe that he really loved me and I believed that I
could trust him great Philip was a president of a highly successful Detroit mortgage company his position gave him
the authority to purchase mortgages with a company to service I can't wait to call he's gonna be very excited about
this by the way we hear anything back on that commercial property on 15-mile he always came across kind of as a
happy-go-lucky guy a wizard in the stock market mean he was always coming saying
oh I made a great killing today I made a hundred grand I made this I bought these
options I sold these options you just thought this person had a certain knack that nobody else had hell yeah he'll
Breen I got some good news Philip Breen was also generous when a friend's business hit hard times
Philip loaned him $100,000 no problem you can pick up a check tomorrow who wrote me a check with no questions asked
never came off as the big wheeler dealer he came off as a kind and good person and wanting to share what he had with
other people he certainly shared it with me in the spring of 1989 Breen purchased
the Orlando juice baseball team for $700,000 the team was one of feat franchises in the newly formed senior
professional baseball Association my league builder all retired big-name ball players the venture was risky and
Breen's worked at the mortgage company soon took a backseat to his role as a team owner
it seemed like it was something that he really wanted to do it was important to him
but in a lot of ways I didn't like it because I thought that it put an awful lot of pressure on him and it seemed
like he was just at that point running himself into the ground you know it didn't make sense to me to do it by
year's end the enterprise seemed doomed to failure Phillips investment had ballooned to
more than two million dollars and he'd begun drinking heavily great during a two-week vacation at their Florida condo
Kathleen became concerned about her husband's mental state I said well I'll send the cash oh I noticed a change in
him he seemed to be spending more money it just seemed like as time went on the money was going more and more to his
head so you have no lien on this property back in Detroit the mortgage company where Philip was Employee made an
unsettling discovery they'd been servicing loans at Brainerd purchased with companies that simply did
not exist the company suspected Philip dream of investing it was just mind-boggling I mean something like that
could happen you know the things that ran through your mind is my god you know we trusted this guy you know how could
he do this to us on Friday January 5th 1990 Philip and Kathleen returned from their Florida vacation to their home in
Detroit yes all right all right just a minute just a minute Oh something seemed to be not right and
I didn't know what and so I took his briefcase into him in the room where he was on the phone and that room was a
complete disaster area he had records piled all over the floor papers were strewn all over he looked
very upset I mean he had a very funny expression on his face and it frightened me to see him freaked out like that that
evening he revealed to me that he had somehow been the victim of people selling phony mortgages he said to us
don't don't worry I'll get these guys I know they can explain it there's there's
not a problem you know it kept reassuring us there's not a problem I'll get ahold of them
over the weekend I kept saying shouldn't we be contacting an attorney should you be talking to a lawyer what
what do we need to do I was just confused I didn't know what to do I was afraid I was afraid for him I was afraid
for us by Monday morning Philip had convinced Kathleen that he could straighten everything out he left for
work at around 8 o'clock explaining at an early meeting Philip Breen never arrived at his office
[Music] that night Kathleen's hopes at Philip would return were dashed when she discovered he had taken some of his
clothes and luggage [Music] I was really upset the idea that he would have actually gone just was
incomprehensible to me I couldn't believe it an investigation by the FBI revealed a
magnitude of Philip Greene's embezzlement scheme in less than two years that created at least 99
fictitious loans netting in more than 10 million dollars Green allegedly used the
money to support his extravagant lifestyle I see they're pretty substantial the FBI also discovered that
12 years earlier Philip Breen had been convicted for fraud and embezzlement in Florida
there was just this whole person that I didn't even know existed I think that I was really just numb with shock and then
I I questioned my own sanity my own intelligence and well how could you not know and why didn't I know I mean I
found myself questioning absolutely everything on the advice of her attorney Kathleen filed for divorce it was too
late the courts held her legally responsible for Philips debts she was forced to sell nearly everything she and
Philip owned their cars boats Florida condo and Detroit home for Kathleen Breen the dream was not just over it had been
shattered [Music] I felt like I was married to a monster from outer space and it almost just
sickens me in a way like just just haunted by it and still even know it's it's just very difficult to believe that
that someone that you think that you know would be capable of just picking up and and just leaving like that

shot to death in his own band when police ruled it a suicide diglettz paris began their own investigation and
