[Applause] [Music] [Applause] fear does not exist in this Dojo all right want to piggyback on some
things that we were talking about out last week real quick here Captain before we get into some lighter
subjects um regarding the kin louder case I tell you that one is popular was popular on the blog lot of interesting
discussion there um some person pointed out that the so we we covered one of the 911
calls right and in pretty good detail as well and one thing we didn't have time to get to on the case coverage was kayn
had a YouTube channel and she had posted like three videos on there and I watched
those three videos when we were doing the case research yeah they didn't really add anything to the case itself
um if we would have been if we would had a you know lesser topics to go through I
would have mentioned it there but the only thing it really pointed out to me is that she kin was a a person with a
good sense of humor which is you know something I enjoy in in a person in a personality uh but one of her one of her
videos shows her in her apartment and I believe in that video that she's calling the cat Carol and so
when we covered the 911 call somebody pointed out that they believe because of that video that her
cat's name is Carol not the roommates now in most of the newspaper articles and online articles that we found the
roommate is simply listed as roommate you know they never disclose her roommate's name in those
articles now when we were going through the portion where we were covering the 911 call we were covering that from a
transcript where we have what kin is saying to the you know 911 operator personnel
and we also have what she is saying to to Carol and she very well could have been talking to her cat I don't know I I
believe that the roommate's name is in fact Carol though regardless of what the cat's name might be right because per
that transcript when the roommate is talking you know when kin's talking it says kin and then it has her words what
she's saying and when the roommate's talking it says Carol and it has what she's saying so going off of that
transcript is is all we really had to work with with it being a case that's not um not one that we had intimate
details of let say right right one thing we didn't get to because there was so much to cover was my suspicion about the
roommate the I find the roommate story very strange because if we go by what we know what the family has said
publicly is that they weren't notified until Tuesday by they were notified by the roommate
saying hey I haven't seen kin in a while uh have you heard from her right well we
know that she was last seen on that surveillance footage in the evening on Saturday and it was it was I believe um
I can't remember if it was Tuesday morning or Tuesday evening but regardless we're talking about you know
two days 3 days 3 and a half days you know so we got a considerable let's say three days
would be what we I think we should call it there one thing that I find incredibly
strange is that we know per her family per her mom and dad uh kayn's M parents that her cell phone was found at the
apartment which was weird and we all know that when when you're trying to call someone even if you have a phone
that locks like I know my phone I can't speak for every phone that's out there but I know my model a phone even if it's
locked if my phone's ringing somebody could walk by and if that person is listed in my contacts it will say you
know Mom is calling or dad is calling right um and so I find it a little strange now we don't know maybe the
phone could have been in kayn's room only and maybe the roommate didn't see that phone for that that time period
yeah or on silent or but also the dog is there so we have the parents calling her
cell phone during this whole time that she's missing we have the cell phone that's located in the apartment and we
have her dog so is the roommate then just willy-nilly caring for the dog for for three full days before they reach
out which maybe the roommate's just an awesome caring understanding person and I and I'm and I'm barking up the wrong
tree um but it seems to me like that would have really have alerted me if I was you know if if if I knew her phone
were there and and I'm taking care of this dog for several days before I reach out to the parents well I I I think it
also depends on how the dog acts because let's say you take the dog out it does its business you take it back in the
house it just kind of wanders around stays mainly in her room maybe then the dog's not that big of an
issue you don't really think much about it you go well well she's somewhere don't know where my roommate is M don't
know when she's coming back M can take the dog out real quick it's not that big of a deal MH but it depends on the dog
because you know I've lived with people before where they you know their dog is is a lot of work you know so if if
they're gone for even four or five hours you're going hey where the heck are you
at right you've left me with this with your dog right so so there was there's so many things when we cover a case
these little tiny details that you wish we'd know you know so and and I that's definitely one of them
because you know there's a a lot of people that live together that it's Common Place hey I
get home from work and I take my roommate's dog out mhm if I'm the first one just to be a good person so it's
really hard to get a read on that it seems a little fishy though it does and I think it's because it's
three days for me if it were one night or or maybe even but then I guess at the same time we should point out that the
the information that we could find that was out there seems to indicate that the
roommate left sometime that Saturday evening or night and and may not have returned to their apartment until Sunday
evening MH so there you go well it there's a chance that the roommate could have just assumed that
kin was there for that whole time that she was gone you know and and now now we are only talking about one and a half or
or two and a half days yeah but You' think there would be some accidents in the house from the dog yeah yeah that's
true so that would kind of give something away right yeah definitely would but again I think it's it's
strange to me it is strange to me that that uh that that information is out there and um
[Music] and I mean I can't say it and it's and like I said for all I know the roommate
could be just a caring wonderful best person in the world yeah but it just seems like some suspicious Behavior or
or somebody that's very just tuned out to their living space well there's there was also some rumors about
them knowing different people that live in those in that apartment complex and I've had friends that live places where
they they know a bunch of people so it was kind of common place for you know my buddy to leave his apartment and go down
to his other buddy's apartment and watch a movie or something right and kind of always if anybody's ever lived in a dorm
situation that's very similar mhm but I I've seen people that lived in apartment
complex that were like that they had four or five friends who became friends with people and they were constantly
like yeah I'm home stop by and you stop by and they're not there well if you go Three Doors Down that's where they they
are so which makes me cuz there was also some rumors if they knew some people that maybe one of these people are
responsible for her going missing and and to me that's a rumor that needs to be looked into more because
maybe her coming in and the dog being there there and not seeing her roommate maybe for a couple days it's not that
weird cuz you go well she's she's always at somebody else's place hanging out with somebody else you know right um
it's it's difficult that's a that's a difficult case for sure uh and then like with uh we had the friend of
Tyler Davis um mhm call us because he's you know just getting hounded online which I found I found out that at some
point he posted like his name and his phone number and basically said if you have any information about my friend can
you you know you can get a hold of me right which to me I'd just be going just put the police's number right um but he
put his own number and then people somebody asked um Britney Davis if they could do a Facebook page for
like conspiracy thoughts on the case and she said no so they didn't make one and then somebody else made one well
that that's their right to make one if they want to if they think there's some weird conspiracies or whatever but then
they started posting his personal information which you know that's in poor taste yeah
it's a little in poor taste but again now back to this back to the louder case it's like with the roommate it's like
how much do you want to speak because if you had no involvement how how many rumors are going to be about you online
right and how much dirt are are people going to throw in your face and on your character and we just created some
rumors about about the roommate so we're guilty but we we don't know her but we're not stating right we're not
stating her name and her phone number and where she lives and you know I mean look at like with a Brian schaer case
about Clint he has changed his name mhm could you imagine like yeah I I hung out
with my buddy and he went missing and therefore I had to change my my name and I've had
to not talk about things and I had to lawyer up and I if if he has no involvement in the case which a lot of
police officers don't believe Clint had anything to do with Brian's disappearance what a shift in his life
and I basically told Tyler's friend hey you've become Clint and whether you like
it or not this this stuff is coming and it's happening and if I was you I want to feed the fire he's been very
Cooperative with police mhm he's talked to him whenever he could and and to be clear about that you were told that by
the police not by the friend well I was told that by the police I was told that by Britney I was
told that by the friend right you know when when he said I've been very Cooperative with the
police and I said yeah they told me mhm so I believe you um and I just said look that's what's
happening don't fuel the fire be honest with people and I do think there's going to be a
round of uh polygraphs coming soon though that's my hunch on the on the Tyler Davis case so we'll see what that
leads to but yeah it's tough with these roommates cuz it also doesn't seem like they were super close like there were
typ friends mhm but I think that would bother me and I think I would really want to know why
my roommate went missing right right I agree well what was it in the um Jacob wling case that we covered a long time
ago yeah uh the there was like a teacher who was considered an an oddball by some
of the people in in the neighborhood in the area and wasn't he like considered the prime suspect by by the people in
the town and the the um some of law enforcement for like this was like 20 years years he was considered the prime
suspect and he when they solved it he had absolutely nothing to do with it right and he was he was hounded and
harassed for decades and so much so that like law enforcement in the I think it was the news basically said cuz he owned
a whole bunch of property like acres and acres and I think it was the news that was like they called him the prime
suspect gave his full name they're filming in front of his property and I think the news lady says uh and police
believe that Jacob wling is buried somewhere here on this property and that poor guy man like these cases are are
are crazy because one thing that you know when you're just kind of pop in and pop out of cases and you're you're
listening or you're reading about something you forget that there are a lot more victims than than what are
listed there or or told to you because one thing that we we fail to think about sometimes is the offender their family
can be a victim as well and in a sense that you know their their relative or somebody that was close to them did this
horrible thing and they're they feel victimized by that person as well and of course you have the family members of
the victim but then you could also have this collateral damage that that is just
somebody that happened to be there or fell under suspicion for whatever reason right yeah I mean that like I said that
the knock on the door um I shouldn't have that fear but I've had that fear quite a while you know if I get a
knock on the door and a friend is not coming over I think oh what is this MH and what if it's law enforcement and
what if somebody that you once dated is missing what if a friend goes missing you
and and with like the Brian Ferguson case that that's the one that always got me because it was just this guy comes
forward after a couple weeks and makes up a story that doesn't even make any sense doesn't even make any sense why
he's confessing and the cops instead of stopping it instead of saying hey this your story doesn't even make sense mhm
they then interview Ryan and he was the only person that sounded like an adult in the whole conversation
and somehow he still gets arrested he still gets charged it makes zero sense MH and you know also talking with
Tyler's friend he was he said yeah and when he first said this I went oh this this guy's kind of full of
[ __ ] right mhm so he said well Tyler's done this before he's walked off many of
times before when he's drunk and I thought well it sounds a little strange which sounds a little
convenient about two seconds later I had a friend in college and I went oh yeah he he would every party he had not
so much at other people's parties if he was going to another person's party probably not going to happen but the
parties he threw I would show up he's the only person I know at the party all his friends were from his college I
wasn't friends with him right and so I'd show up to support him to hang out with
him to meet some of his new friends where's he at oh he's gone gone where he's walking around the neighborhood why
oh he got upset about something couple times I'd walk around the neighborhood going well he he must be pissed drunk if
he's doing this right right sometimes he was drunk sometimes he wasn't and then he would bring up you know he was upset
about whatever happened or upset about something in his past and then eventually you go I think this
person is just doing this for attention and I think or it's their coping method you know what I mean like
yeah we we all need things to because at the end of the day we we are in charge of our mood whatever mood
we're in for the most part right you know I can determine if if if something bad happens or something small we you
know sometimes we all can can fly off off the handle over something tiny right and sometimes I have to remind myself
hey I'm in charge of me like if if I'm going to be a grumpy ass the rest of the day because of this one little thing
well that's on me at some point and so like a coping method I have and of course it's never never when drinking
but um I if if I'm pissed off about something or need to clear my head right I'll take a drive you know I enjoy
driving you know in the country roads and stuff like that and a lot of times if I have something that I can't shake
and I have an extra hour hour and a half I might take a drive just to just to clear my head and it and it I fall back
on that often because it works for me for whatever reason yeah and I think some people take
a walk to clear their head and I get that but I I do think maybe he did that one time maybe he did
it twice but at some point he got a reputation for walking away at his party and it's like okay so every party you
throw you you throw a hissy fit somebody hurts your feelings eventually at some point it's like you know you're
obviously not handling your alcohol well you're not obviously handling your emotions well but I
remember maybe two or three times finding him and walking with him and talking and the first couple times
babying him hey man it's not so bad and eventually the next time I was like hey man this is ridiculous you need to stop
doing this MH and then I remember showing up to this one time to his house they couldn't
find him they didn't know where he was at but this was a time that nobody even nobody like normally it was n he got mad
about such and such and he left well this was nobody nobody knew where he was at and then I waited around for about
another 5 minutes and then I thought okay he's probably doing it again so I left and then maybe a week goes by ran
into a couple friends that went to the party after me oh yeah he came back he was you know going on one of his walks
moping around again pouting yeah and so here and this is one of my best friends I show up to a party nobody can find him
and I went I'm out this [ __ ] has done this too many times to me and that's one
of the things that happened that night there was multiple times in in college that Tyler would do this he would just
kind of walk blow off steam and the friend said look I I i' I've chased him multiple times I've walked with him I've
tried to talk to him multiple times this night it was too late I was too tired mhm he had enough and he's like I'm I
was not going to follow him anymore right and he said look if something bad happened to him
I'm going to regret that for the rest of my life but you know what can you do you
can't go back mhm so but an interesting thing two interesting things about the Tyler Davis case real quick if you got a
minute yeah uh which I don't think I I told you about this is so one I got to talk to the the head detective again
they've done now I think he said a total of four or five searches okay can't find
anything some lady I could be getting this wrong but from the story I heard was some lady heard our podcast took
some detailed notes about that night did a Facebook live trying to retrace um his steps his
steps what we do know is that we have surveillance of Tyler Britney and the friend getting out of the Uber car so we
have that and cops aren't saying that they have a lot of footage but I think there's a
little more footage than they're telling the public right now yeah I would think
so it just given the general nature of that area with it having so many businesses yeah and with him you know
they they hope there's been a couple sightings um in different parts of Ohio one they actually thought was a decent
lead for a minute but they said that he was working at Walmart and they just the
detectives were going wait this guy walks away starts a new life and decides to get a job at Walmart that's kind of
strange and why wouldn't he be using his bank account at all right um so they sent police officers there they checked
it out obviously it wasn't him but there's been a couple sightings that this detective didn't know he said
I can't Ru it out because we have some footage of him but we don't have as much as we probably should with all the
cameras around there is it possible that he was stressed out and then he wanted to get you know leave his life possibly
there's also some information that he shared that I can't share okay and I will have to tell you that off the
Record off the Record Tyler has a you know and I I think I said this to you off the Record off the record on on a
phone call I said to me Tyler has a familiar face like when I first saw his missing picture mhm it was like I I had
to I'm like I'm scrolling through the contacts in my brain going do I know this guy from somewhere do I do I know
him or you know is he somebody that I knew briefly or was an acquaintance at one time he just to me for whatever
reason he has he has a familiar face maybe he maybe he looks like somebody that I used to know and can't really put
a hand handle on it somebody that I used to know um so they' done four searches maybe more the lady did the Facebook
live retrace the steps it got a lot of traction enough where the cops were interested they watch because you can
normally with these Facebook lives or YouTube lives they'll stream it live but once the it's done streaming live mhm
you can then go back and watch it right and so a lot of people went back and watch it the detectives went back and
watch it I know that they did a search party and invited a bunch of people I wasn't able to go but it was a pretty
big search this weekend I have not heard anything other than some news outlets saying that there was a search was that
Friday or Saturday I want to say it was and and for for people listening we've we've recorded this in advance right um
it was Saturday yeah cuz I saw I saw that um that go out so we covered it in um 614
now put together a little piece saying hey this this is a story that's got some national attention but the some of the
details about that night were were vague and they kind of gave us some praise for
really having putting out a show and really putting together an interview that that really pointed out what the
actual details and timeline were of that night that he went missing and I believe
it was on there as well that they said hey there's going to be a search this Saturday that was something I wanted to
attend as well but I already had a uh previous obligation that I could not could not get out of so yeah it's just
sad stuff because not only does he have a familiar face but it's it's you know when we've looked into a case for so
long it almost feels like somebody that you know and you just you're kind of just left
with nothing not a whole lot to go on and yeah I hope I hope they got more information than what's been released
because there's not a lot of information yeah and so I'm trying to put this in they did multiple searches
they searched multiple ponds I don't think they search all of them they did another search around the
Ross that Ross Labs Abbot Labs Abbot labs um they did a search around Abbot Labs that I drove by that
place Saturday that I forgot how big of a property that is that Abbot Labs that's
a not only just a big building but they they occupy a lot of ground over there well they're still fighting with Verizon
right now because they have certain parts of the cell phone record they have certain pings but they don't have
everything they're trying to get um Facebook access because they believe that there was some phone activity so we
we know that she states that there was a phone call at 410 another call came in at like
411 it says on the the generic basically phone records that that call lasted a minute while anything under a minute
will round up to a minute okay she says it was 4 second call and then he said nothing said nothing and it just or
maybe she said hello and he didn't reply but then the phone went dead and she said then anytime she called after
that it was going straight to voicemail well there's some so I can say this um the stuff that I can't share I mean I
could share but when it wouldn't help the investigation it would be right service to law enforcement what I can
say is they believe and I they're still fighting with Verizon so they need to get more
information it's pretty sad that the cops have to fight with these phone companies right we have a missing person
we have cops that are issuing uh search warrants and subena and people and all this stuff in questioning and one of the
things that could give them a lot more information is this Verizon information and also uh some of the the Facebook and
social media because they believe that there's phone active ity now that could be a phone call that could be text
messages that could be accessing GPS Facebook that could be something else after the 411 call mhm so like I said
there was a couple there there's been a couple leads uh a couple sightings in Ohio
which which is strange um they haven't been able to confirm or deny if it's him and what's
so interesting about Tyler is he has a very noticeable birth mark and so when these individuals are saying look I I
saw a guy that looks like the the missing guy from Easton right and they go well what did he look like what are
he's wearing well he's wearing this he's wearing that but it's you know this guy
had a birth mark starting on his right hand all the way up to the right side of his neck right so I don't know but good
luck to them because I mean eight you know when I was talking to the head you know the lead detective on this I mean
he he reiterated multiple times we have F we have eight detectives working on 8,000
cases basically a year so that's a thousand missing person cases per detective per year and they've
been in Ohio is actually higher up on missing person cases Most states 95% of those just a
miscommunication no yeah a lot of those are but somebody's reported missing and then they they turn up very soon right
but think about take the Tyler Davis case and how much work you're doing on one case M and on top of that every
three days or three missing person cases are hitting your desk every day mhm and yes
within 24 hours to 48 hours you're getting some kind of confirmation that that person is alive or that person you
know has been found or whatever but what about the ones that don't what about you see what I mean and that's if
you show up to work seven days a week so you know so when you show up on Monday you got another four or five
people that you got to start looking for mhm so it's just a lot and they've they've tried to actually because Ohio's
numbers are are a little bit higher and columbus' numbers are a little bit higher because how big we are they've
actually tried to get a couple more detectives uh it's just not currently in the budget so no I I see your point but
at the same time that creates a lot of busy work and like you know with the show if you let the busy work the busy
work can easily take over the major focus of what you need to be focused on for the week
