we've got police officers all around your house we get a fire this will be our next
customer right here please they decide to hurt themselves you're not going to because there isn't

what you've got here is uh some examples of the Common Street drugs that we deal
with and uh I'll just go through some of them this is called an eight ball of cocaine
it's 3.5 grams or 1 8 of an ounce that's the most common bulk size that is sold in sold in a small package like that to
a user who would then break off pieces as required for their own personal habit or sometimes the users will break this
eight ball down further into smaller packages and then continue to sell those packages for an additional profit some
of the ways that the larger quantities are broken down is a small quantity to be put into a paper deck here's an
example of a professional deck that tells you how to fold it it's just basically a two inch square of paper
folded in a intricate fashion to form a small deck square piece of paper like this and this
deck is either a quarter or a half a gram of cocaine and then that's sold on the street for approximately fifty
dollars for the half gram in that fashion another method of packaging the cocaine
this became quite common here in Vancouver is these small plastic wrap balls again it's usually an eighth of a
gram to possibly a little less than half a gram of cocaine placed in a small piece of plastic the Plastics then
wrapped up in a ball tied at the top usually with dental floss or some other fashion and then the package is sold to
the customer in that fashion usually for about 20 25 dollars for about an eighth
of a gram slightly more if it's a slightly larger package wrap ball they're easily concealable they're
easily disposed of by having it in a plastic package like this or wrapped up in some sort of package like that common
method of transportation is carrying it in the mouth two reasons for that you can quickly swallow it if you're
approached by the police and it's easy to get rid of in that fashion as a result we have to be extra careful to
apprehend these people and prevent them from disposing to the evidence spit it out

hey I can't hear you my ears [Music] relax you lose we win a lot of the drug addicts will put the narcotics in their
mouths and try to swallow it to get rid of the evidence we try a discursion doing that because the only way we've
got to stop them from swallowing the evidence is basically putting a choke hold on them and prevent them from
swallowing and it's kind of a messy business because we're trying to get the drugs back and they're trying to get
them down their throat as a result we enough new types of battles basically to preserve the evidence
are you good age confirmed thank you what first comic was I hope I have AIDS because now you do and a second coming
was I have AIDS um what we had here is we just came across a couple of the uniform beat men who uh
were attempting to arrest an individual that we had uh [ __ ] balls plastic wrap balls of cocaine
in his mouth they grabbed him by the throats of her and I'm swallowing it and had him on the ground and we're
wrestling with them uh the object was to get the drug out of his most before he could swallow it have you just come upon
this we just came in and gave him assistance in securing the guy and holding him down removing the cocaine
from his mouth and then put him into proper custody which he is now at the present time they're going to deal with
them and he's still quite anxious and he'll be processed and dealt with the normal fashion
[Music] laughs [Music] it's not a straight nine to five job there's shift work which I I don't mind
at all it's just the excitement there's something a little bit different every day
and I've just received a message [Music] 10 port okay what's uh seems to be the problem
here um at this point here we don't know if she's she appears that she possibly taking some drugs next door neighbors
just found her walking around no one's asking me yeah confused what's been going on tell me what's really a party
going over here possible drug overdose the next door neighbors know her and then just should give you any
information at all uh my name is does she have any identification whatsoever any marks uh no marks no
breaks no blood nothing what are uh for pupils look like they they're even reactive but cheap there's some there is
some alcohol on her breath really and she's just giving us an appearance of human right up your eyes I've taken some
sort of drug okay I'm gonna talk to the neighbors uh you're gonna transport shortly yeah
we're going to be taking we just got in here we're going to kick off okay so I'm going to talk to neighbors
find out where she's from what what the story is uh with her okay I'll talk to you guys in a second don't leave before
you talk to me unless she gets worse you bet thanks sir do you know this lady at
all have you ever seen her before you never have she's never showed up in the door before okay
can you speak her her language do you think no no no no what nationality do you think she is a native Indian name
okay no problem all right we'll uh we'll look into it we'll make sure she gets the hospital
[Music] was she asked me ask we were staggering around here and this should be appeared around here
besides Violet we can't get anything else out of it chances are she may have just been intoxicated maybe mix a little
drugs actually I'm going to say more drugs yeah she just she's got that look about her marks on her arms no marks on
her arms okay we'll uh we'll follow you to Surrey Memorial hospital and see if we can find out a little bit more I just
want to make sure there's no criminal activities involved with a straight overdose doesn't want to seem to tell us
much doesn't they yeah she's asking us why we want to know these things she's pretty uh mum's at work I'll leave my
car at the hospital I'll see at the hospital thanks for the call Mr Ford it's bad stuff yeah okay stay at the
hospital yeah wandered around one neighbor's yard the neighbor never bothered to call us the
second neighbor was out in the yard had enough sense to give us a call she was asking for help I just want to make sure
there's no um nothing involved that she wasn't beat up or or forced to take drugs and stuff
like that I want to make sure it's basically totally natural and if there is drugs on her then she'd
be looking at a charge of uh possession of the narcotic just looks like a little
bit of cocaine overdose oh it's hard to say it sounds like it's closer all right
how is she is she coming too yeah good so she's able to tell you who she is yeah
okay where do you put 18. 18. okay great thank you okay okay they're just they're just dealing
with her right now and getting her ready so we'll give them a little peace and quiet oh hey hey hey hey relax okay
you're gonna arrest for being intoxicated in a public place okay [Music] okay you're under arrest for being

with them tell me there well they're there to help you and you refuse their help do you understand

that's the same old story of the Three Memorial deals with people like this all the time they're brought in they uh they
become very belligerent and sometimes very violent towards the staff there and in turn we're called that was maybe a
good thing that we're just we're just there and follow the ambulance in because we would have been called back
regardless can you tell me how much cocaine you did tonight okay you told the ambulance a tennis
said you did do some hours ago you did two lines three hours ago yes right how many how many beers
did you have two all right none of the alcohol no nobody said that when we uh get this intoxicated person
back to the jail cells she'll act one of two ways and she'll either be very uh cooperative and quiet and polite or
she'll be very violent and she'll resist and she'll want to fight and if I don't miss my guess if I'm not
mistaken I'll say yeah I'll put my money on she's going to be a fighter okay I want you to be cooperative

you're not sober enough how's that no no it's sober we have an intoxicated female both with drugs and with alcohol
no but you've had a bit too much strength tonight thing I was I was just going home what's

I would live with tetanus she uh she actually broke the skin yeah but Mr pants is in between her yeah the
pants was in between so it probably saved the rtcc for her oh no she's staying right
where she is [Music] or violent she chose to be violent we have um good idea to photograph of those that
bruise on my legs so I get her for a salt peel I want to I think Dearborn yeah if you would please
what we did was for our own protection we arrested her for uh being drunk in a public place so
we get her back here in cells and I told her that she'd be staying with us until
she was sober she didn't like that idea too much so when we booked her in cells she became violent we wanted to get the
handcuffs off her once the handcuffs were attempting to be removed that's what she locked onto my leg and bit into
it so now instead of just being released when she's sober in the morning she'll be served a promise to appear and she'll
be charged for assaulting a police officer so what started as nothing for her is going to end up in the court
appearance for her the author of her own misfortunes [Music] can I just leave these with you sure
you mark these date time initial and this will then become an exhibit in evidence in court you're concentrating
on taking the handcuffs off that's your first thing the other people are restraining her that's that's their job
and as soon as as soon as I saw her head move in that direction I knew what was coming down but I couldn't get out of
there on time and the first thing you feel is her teeth going into your your leg the first thing that really concerns
you the most is whether she's infectious and that's what bothered me most of her
of all and that just runs through your head so probably later on I'll uh when it quiets down I'll run up the hospital
and see what they have to say about it let them look at it but it was time being
just going to kind of live with that part of the job it's one of the sides of the jobs that nobody appreciates

this is some type of domestic dispute between two brothers uh one Brothers come home uh extremely intoxicated and
the other brothers ran over the house that he's gonna get beat up so of course he phones listen or go see
if we can straighten this problem out front what seems to be the problem with your
brother tonight drunk he's drunk again that's all and he booted your front door well he come back here looking for
something to beat up on some guys with he wanted my crossbows this that and the other thing I told him get it forget it
get out of here how long did your brother get a hold of a crowbar or something uh not that I know of what's
your brother's last name Samuel zero yeah Bravo 20. bro 20 is 10. Bravo 20 from portable constable 10.
we may have your brother already that's all skinny guy looks Indian that's him yeah long long black hair

brother in custody right now good all right there he's under arrest for being drunk in public place he'll be released
in the morning when he's sober well you can have a chat with him tomorrow and you can make arrangements

she's asking for coverage so it's probably a problem down we had we're called earlier to a man
pass on the ladies washroom at the turf Hotel however we were canceled and now we're we're reattending some we're not
exactly sure what's happening down there probably the mail came back and it's causing a problem oh yeah
and the staff at the turf hotel are asking for the police back in that file back there the gentleman was uh afraid
of his brother come back drunk and kicking his door in again that's why he called us but what happened was we
initially were going to be attending as backup to uh Constable Tan's file a man with a crowbar at the Dell Hotel looking
for trouble and sure enough that was the this guy's brother both files were related
the guy is now in custody he's in jail and he's our guest for the night a drunk in a public place he'll be released in
the morning when he's sober and that's so often the case we get one call and then another one comes in and they're
related had we not got this guy originally at the Dell Hotel there's no no telling
what type of trolley would have gotten himself into tonight looks like he hasn't been feeling too
well nope left turn 43 lcla you know we know the gentleman here that was found passed
out in the washroom the lady's washroom at the turf hotel where we are now and you can see from the marks on his
arms and blood from his nose he's gonna scrap them [ __ ] down off cameras are all
up well it's part of the job sir watch your head watch your head getting in there

room no no you're just cleaning himself up in the ladies washroom well what happened when I get here they just
cancel me because they woke him up he didn't want to go with the ambulance and uh
he was gonna walk home and he came back and started bugging the ladies again so it was just what we thought he left and
then we were canceled and he came back and started started procrastinating yeah so that's when I decided he should
probably come with me that's a good idea it'll be one less problem for us to handle tonight
10 just got the guy with the crowbar and was related to gospel Menards file the brother kicking in the door
so what's next let's go get some of our bad guys [Music] three children age seven and nine were
asking the call comes up we don't know uh you don't know what to expect and that's all right

what we've got here is an example of a buff this is one pound of glucose that can be purchased probably in any
drugstore or drug supply store and this particular one is 2.89 so it's very inexpensive as you can see uh on this
sample here it's a fine white powder very similar to either cocaine or heroin it's used to mix with the pure cocaine
or heroin to one cutest percentage so it's not as strong and the example of heroin you'd mix
four to one so you'd mix four ounces of buff to one ounce of heroin and you end up with five ounces so you'd have a
considerably larger bulk to sell in the case of cocaine it's normally cut a lot less perhaps one to one so it it's less
strength but you double the amount of actual drug you've got for sale and increase your profits and it looks very
similar to the the cocaine drug itself and the mixing process was quite often used first of all to mix the drugs
together is these types of scales here and we've got an example of three different kinds uh the electronic scale
here what will happen to balance the scale is you can throw a bill on it and the ways
as you can see on the scale exactly one gram you can then use that to balance your scales you then add a gram or two
or three or four or how much ever buff you're going to add to your initial drug mix added together and then package that
as uh for sale so when we're looking for a possession for the purpose of trafficking we're
always looking for scales of this nature buff as we've seen here is glucose and from that we use that type of evidence
to show the courts that this person is not only using the drugs for his personal use but that he's packaging
them and cutting them down and putting them into a situation where he would actually be going to sell those drugs on
the street and this is part of the paraphernal we use to show the courts that a purpose that the person is
preparing drugs for trafficking and we've just arrested them before he's actually gone out to traffic them
called his connection to meet them up here at Goran Pender the undercover operator is radioing US telling us where
he's going now we're just going to follow them and arrest them when the deal occurs
is going into Lane around the corner to get it brought by a bus I'll be driving by in a sec
okay he's crossed to the north side of the lane behind a pole there if you can park right there who's everything Camaro
I'll block him for you it's making the cocaine up behind the dumpster I think he's gonna rip us
that's what I think is happening sometimes it'll happen is um if a person doesn't have any I'll make
some up you'll use gyprock a piece of concrete put it in the usual paper and then bring it back and pass it off as
cocaine and take your money and rip you off that way I think that's what this Bell is doing
right now making it up okay you use drugs for who am I talking to [Music] thank you
[Music] no money at all who do you use everyone track my mic yeah this one like a toilet in there
yeah what we've got is one of the parties involved in selling the narcotics to our undercover operator uh
this one met with the recover operator and took them for a clear walk finally put him down the stairs uh this one went
off uh for a while the undercover operator was my second Oriental nail this one came back an exchange was made
of money for drugs between the undercover operator and this one and we just arrested this one after we ran into
an apartment block and we're now searching them for additional drugs and a lot of money we've recovered nine
dollars but it's not sufficient to quantity for the most undercover operator paved for the drugs who were
looking for the balance of the uh the money here's the wagon we found an initial
small quantity of cocaine in that uh green package we found on the floor when we arrested them between the two of them
unfortunately we can't put it in either one of their possession uh we can't prove that that package wasn't there
prior to there going into that little alcohol so not being able to put cocaine in their possession means we're just
going to seize it uh for an okay seizure we're just going to destroy it uh he'll
be charged with the traffic New cocaine to the undercover operator only unfortunately we won't be able to do an
initial charge of possession of the purpose for the fact we can't put them in perfectly in possession of that
particular main package foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music]
