Jordan Monahan Charmed Laura gray when the couple were still in primary school in Blackburn Lancashire she trusted him
she loved him she had no reason to doubt him when Monahan murdered their two children in 2013 Laura didn't suspect a

lost both his children in the space of a year the 22 2-year-old turned to the press to Beg For answers about why his
family had suffered such bad luck Jordan took part in a number of local and national uh newspaper articles wanting
to understand why they died he felt that he could snuff out a life because he wanted attention he looked like the poor
breathed devastated father he must have felt Invincible at that point so Invincible that he went on to murder
again killing his girlfriend Eevee Adams the next time triple murderer Jordan Monahan's name was in the papers
it was when he finally faced Justice for his callous crimes this Killer's Story begins on the
16th of July 1991 in the northwest of England Jordan mon was born in Blackburn which
is East Lancashire he lived with his mother his stepfather his brother and his sister he never knew his biological
father he was to put it politely a bad boy from the very beginning he was popular but uncontrollable unruly played
truant a great deal and this is at the age 78 n detective Pauline Stables would later
become very well acquainted with Jordan Monahan's criminal history in his early years Jordan came to attention of the
police due to manner levels of criminality criminal damage that sort of thing by the time he was
11 he' started experimenting with cocaine and with alcohol and he started stealing cars his problematic Behavior
started really really young where did this boy act as a child it just seems to me that he was a mini adult from almost
the beginning this was the Wayward boy who around 2003 befriended a local girl called Laura gray so Laura gray she was
also born and brought up within East Lancashire Blackburn area Laura was later to describe her childhood as
rubbish she was left to offend for herself she met Jordan a year or so younger than him they became childhood
sweethearts around about the age of 11 and 12 as Laura gray was to put it memorably later things happened very
quickly Laura gray saw him as the man she was going to spend her life with they were obviously fulfilling a need in
each other even at that childish age where they really shouldn't have been so dependent on each other as
they were and maybe Laura saw that as uh safe somebody who would look after her and that can be incredibly powerful when
Laura was 13 she got the first taste of Monahan's manipulative tactics when tired of his erratic Behavior she tried
to end their relationship 2 Days Later Jordan Monahan takes a cocaine overdose and ends up in
hospital and then turns up at Laura's house a couple of days later all full of regret brings her gifts says oh please
take me back there were other troubling signs in the teenage Monahan's Behavior he terrorizes his pet rabbits
on one occasion he chases one round the garden with a hammer on another occasion
he pretends to feed the rabbits and doesn't until one starves to death when Monahan was 17 he publicly proposed to
16-year-old Laura in a crowded restaurant she had no quals about saying yes Jordan was a real extrovert he had a
gift of the gab very convincing able to ingratiate himself with people very very
positive very bubbly no wedding ever took place but a year later in 2009 the couple set up home together in Blackburn
we got the relationship starting at 11: we got a proposal at 16 we got the moving into a house and 17 18 years old
and in that way both of them have skipped childhood they've gone straight into being many adults it was never
going to end well very early on there were signs that Monahan was trying to isolate his fiance she wants to see her
family she wants to go out with a friend he doesn't wanted to go he's got to stay
with me i' planned something special Jordan also monitored all Laura's social media accounts making sure she didn't
have any other boyfriends Jordan had full control of the finances so they had one bank account all of the money would
go into that bank account and Jordan would be in charge of paying the rent and all of the bills if Laura wanted to
spend some money Jordan demanded that she give him a day's notice so that he could get the money out she accepted
that as part of the relationship I mean she loved him she trusted him around Christmas 20110 Laura got some puzzling
news she got a letter from the landlord that the rent hadn't been paid and bills
weren't paid Laura couldn't understand why Monahan hadn't been keeping up with payments we had a good job he was a site
manager for a construction company well paid probably around about £50,000 a year year at that time so you know he
was earning good money he's got a steady job but he's also addicted to slot machines and online
gambling he spent a lot of time trying to hide it from Laura um trying to deny that there was any issues or any
problems they continued to argue about Monahan's gambling problem but in Spring 2011 Laura pushed her misgivings aside
when she discovered she was pregnant becoming a mother was all Laura had ever wanted Logan was born in November 2011
natural birth healthy young boy and they obviously were on the face of it as far
as Laura was concerned a happy family Laura wanted to enjoy her time with the baby but Monahan had other ideas within
2 weeks of Logan's birth Jordan is pestering Laura gray to become pregnant again by the time Logan
is just 5 months old Laura is pregnant again later Laura told police that Jordan Monahan may have engineered this
happy accident Jordan made a joke about putting a needle through a condom um because he wanted me to get pregnant and
I kept saying no no on the 22nd of September 2012 Laura received another complaint from the landlord saying that
she and Mona an were behind with their rent heavily pregnant and caring for 10-month-old Logan the news was the
final straw for Laura they were obviously having problems with Jordan not paying the bills and at that time
she decided that enough was enough and she wanted to end the relationship the following day Laura's
gone out shopping when Jordan Monahan calls her and says that Logan has swallowed lots of paracetamol that it
was drowsy that was floppy that he wasn't responding Logan is rushed to hospital Laura is worried sick but it
turns out in fact that Logan hasn't taken any paracetamol and in fact he's perfectly all right but as a result of
that and the shock of that situation Jordan spoke to Laura about not wanting to break the family up they agreed to
stay together at that point though Laura didn't know it this was the beginning of
a Sinister pattern baby Logan starts getting hurt it's always around the time that Laura is saying she's
going to leave she is worried and vulnerable and she will turn to the father and they can come together and
worry about the baby together and this gives him an in to claw back all of that control could the unimaginable actually
be true if Jordan Monahan was mistreating his son in a plot to keep the relationship alive it was only a
matter of time before it happened again in December 2012 days before their second baby was due Monahan Laura gray
and 13-month-old Logan moved into a new larger home in Blackburn Lancashire on the 8th of December 2012 Ruby Julie
Monahan the couple's second child is born again natural birth no issues at all lovely healthy healthy young baby
but Laura's happiness was shortlived 21 days 3 weeks after Ruby's birth Monahan calls Laura downstairs
who's been upstairs with Logan saying that something wrong with Ruby her lips are blue see what's
happened my da is to be really badly she's going blue in the face just stay the alive with me I'll give you some
instructions what to do next paramedics arrived the oxygen level in Ruby's blood
was low they took Ruby into Hospital variety of different tests Ruby had been displaying viral type symptoms uh
wheezing block nose Etc she's kept in for observation and she's eventually discharged on the 31st of December New
Year's Eve George Jord and Laura have a quiet night in Laura about midnight goes
to bed and Jordan says that he'll stay up and he'll do the the next feed about 2:00 a.m. in the morning Jordan wakes
Laura he's shouting up the stairs to Laura to say that Ruby is again she's not responding lips have gone blue she's
not breathing okay did you see what happened she's not breathing she's not breathing I'm organizing help for you
now they Rush Ruby back to hospital into A&E but this time she doesn't survive she's
just 24 days old Laura gray would later recall Monahan's unusual response to Ruby's
death as soon as I looked at Ruby I knew that there was something wrong wrong with it and I just wanted to get her out
and cuddle her but why wouldn't he do that that was his daughter and it was it was so C it just stood
over it postmortem revealed that uh Ruby the cause of death was acute bronal pneumonia sadly children do die in these
circumstances there were no suspicions whatsoever only later did Laura recall another strange detail about the day
Ruby had died Laura had traveled in the ambulance with her newborn while Monahan
stayed at home with Logan when he finally arrived Laura broke the tragic news to him Laura told him that Ruby had
passed away he said I know and Laura thought that was really strange in relation to well how could how could you
know Medics who'd come to Ruby's Aid at the family home had also noted something
troubling Monahan said he'd raiseed the alarm the moment Ruby had become unwell the paramedics noted
that riger mortis had started to set in at that point with the suggestion that Ruby had been deceased for a lot longer
than potentially that Jordan was was indicated for a few months the couple were brought Closer by their shared
bereavement but by that summer Laura once again had grave concerns about Monahan's behavior on the 26th of July
2013 again Laura got to the point where she decided that she couldn't continue with Jordan constantly lying to
her Laura gray tells Monahan look I've absolutely had enough of this I've had enough of your gambling so she told
Jordan that the relationship was over Mahan appeared to accept the breakup but the following day he asked to spend a
few final hours with his son before moving out so Laura went out shopping history was about to repeat itself mhan
calls her up on her mobile phone and says Logan's gone all floppy and she rushes back Laura called
the ambulance the ambulance came and they took him to hospital and checked him out absolutely no issues with him
whatsoever Laura was completely distracted and distressed and I think Jordan's obviously convinced her to to
stay in the relationship and the Fallout around and the money got forgotten about
because they were just relieved that Logan was okay just 3 weeks later Laura caught
Mahan out in another lie about money he claimed he hadn't been paid but she witnessed him using an ATM to withdraw
money from a second bank account she knew nothing about that was the final straw for Laura um he lied to a time and
time again she couldn't trust him around the finances so at that point she said said that's it enough is enough so again
Jordan said okay well let me spend the day with Logan and then I'll go I'll pack me things and I'll leave that
afternoon Jordan Monahan takes Logan out in his push chair to a public swimming bars in Blackburn and he goes into a
cubicle to quotes change he's in the cubicle for half an hour but he doesn't change and Jordan leaves without
swimming so when he leaves at that point the rain cover is over the pram the blanket is pulled up over Logan and
there's no movement of Logan in the pram Monahan takes the little boy home and leaving him in his push chair he pushes
him into the dining room with his face to the wall Monahan told Laura to let the toddler sleep a while a couple of
hours later he left a pick up a pizza for dinner asking Laura to wake Logan while he was out so Laura goes to the
prom pulls away the rain cover and the blanket and it's quite clear that Logan has
died tell me please my baby's died please home tell me what's happened my baby's died I'm just s in the proper
dead Logan Monahan passed away on the 7 of August 2013 less than 9 months after his sister
Ruby he was just 21 months old Laura was devastated the police once again were informed of the sudden death Logan was
subject to a postmortem and there was no natural cause that could be identified and ultimately the cause of death was
unascertained broken by the unthinkable tragedy that had befallen them Laura gray at first
clung even closer to her fiance Jordan Monahan but in September 2016 3 years after the tragic death of Logan Laura
ended the relationship for good and this time no amount of threats cajoling or manipulation by Monahan could win her
back less than a year later Monahan entered the life of 21-year-old eeve Adams she was working in a a pub in
Blackburn and they met and then started a relationship and as I understand it very Charming toward eie showered her
with gifts presents attention Evie was a shy slightly naive impressionable girl E's start in life had been tough then
she was fostered by Bernard Adams and his wife Ivon a came to us with the brother she he was three and she was six
nearly seven she didn't have best upbring him really just really really thin and scraggly her and they'd never
really have hot meals eie and her brother arrived as young children for a temporary foster
placement but from that day forward they never really left in 2008 when Eevee was
12 years old Bernard and Ivon became the siblings legal guardian the couple enjoyed watching Eevee flourish into a
happy teenager with a unique personality just dipping you know and I mean dippy always happy singing you
know all the dances the silly dances songs and everything just she really funny age 17
Eevee found a kindred spirit in her best friend Holly the first time I met eeve we was at Blackburn College we're both
studying level one her dressing together and then we were just Inseparable after
that she would bubbly happy she would never down and sad she would just a really happy
girl but in 2017 after meeting 26-year-old Jordan Monahan Eve's relationships with her friends and
family began to change and the positive course her life had taken was tragically
derailed 21-year-old Eevee quickly fell for the plausible Charming young man eeve rang me up and said I've met
someone and he's really nice and she really excited about it but something wasn't right Eevee fell hook L and
sinker for for this manipulative controlling man EV thought that Jordan would do anything
far he'd bend over backwards and E enjoying that that she needed him love bombing her taking her
out on nice States paying for friends to go out with her paying for friends nights away with her I would say that
Jordan used his money as a way to control Eevee he was the sort of dominant part partner in in the
relationship their relationship started really quickly and that would be hiso let's get the control as quickly as
possible because all this love bombing stuff where I've got to convince you that I'm Prince Charming I can't keep
that up for very long and that's what happens in abusive relationships that's how practically all of them start e
Eve's loved ones witnessed firsthand Monahan's volatile Behavior I went out with him a few times it cause arguments
and sto off and then she go after him I seen eveve have a couple of black eyes I
did ask her about her injuries but I just got the same I walked into a lamp poost or I've hit it on a door or i'
fell downstairs and usually for Eevee she told Bernard very little about her new
boyfriend but her adoptive parents heard enough on the local grape vine to worry
them I tried to find out a lot about him first but nobody' say a wa is a bad and
then I heard he got a good ad in town somebody had glassed him a few months into the relationship it finally became
obvious to Bernard exactly why Eve's boyfriend had attracted so much hatred in the local area on the 13th of April
2018 Maham was arrested on suspicion of murdering his children Logan and Ruby 5 years earlier you stand you rest
3 months earlier the police had launched a formal investigation into Ruby and Logan's
deaths that involved a full review of all of the witness testimony CCTV forensics and as a result of that her
review of the cause of death for Ruby was changed from acute bronal pneumonia to unascertained
this meant that both Ruby and Logan's deaths were now considered to be unexplained and therefore potentially
suspicious by April 2018 the police had still not been able to conclusively rule
out a genetic disorder that would explain Ruby and Logan's deaths despite this they recognized a clear pattern
that pointed firmly at the Children's father Jordan Monahan the main area of Suspicion was around the fact that he
was the only person present on each occasion of collapse and on the vast majority of occasions it was uh preceded
by Laura telling Jordan that the relationship was over by now even Ruby and Logan's mother Laura suspected that
Monahan could have harmed his own children you obviously quite angry I can see that I think I've just realized that
it's a big possibility that he's done something to her what evidence are you doing this be
explain to you police station okay he was arrested in April of 2018 in relation to the deaths of his children
and he spoke freely throughout each interview gave really comprehensive explanation gave plausible on the face
of it explanations in relation to the deaths of the children and and proceeding collapses do you understand where we're
trying to what we're where we're coming from with this though there two occasions with Ruby
that she's a fit and healthy child she's fit and healthy in hospital she's returned home and again she develops
some another medical episode that medical episode is it because she died of pneumonia well so that's right there's a
cause why she was in she was Ill in interrogation he's very relaxed very cocky very arrogant seems quite
confident in his in his account when actually when we started to scrutinize his account didn't hold water
didn't stand up but are you responsible for the attempt murder ofan on 27th no July 2013 the murder of him on the 17th
of 202 no is is there anything to explain the reasons why he suffers from what he did no I'm not a doctor or
anything so I going to though their suspicions were strong detectives did not at that time have enough to charg
Jordan Monahan with the murders of his children because there is no firm evidence the police have no alternative
but to release him pending further investigation these really were cult cases no suspicions were really raised
at the time there was no crime scene they need Monahan to trip in self up and they need to have those cause of death
eie Adams refused to believe her boyfriend was capable of murder Eve did talk to me about Jordan and his past I
went Mar black Social Service have been around and then eeve went on to tell me that Jordan's been accused of killing
two of his kids eeve Adams is warned that is being investigated and advised to take out a non-molestation
order so that he can't see her however it was seemed apparent that she really had no intention of ending a
relationship with Jordan more than once Eevee was persuaded to move into a women's Refuge to get away from Monahan
and more than once he tracked her down and persuaded her to take him back after that I was just there for her
like there wasn't much else I could do because whatever I was saying about George and she didn't want to listen for
over a year Eevee and Monahan maintained a volatile onoff relationship but by October 2019 the
young woman was tiring of his controlling narcissistic behavior she text saying I'm leaving Jordan for good
I'm going back to my mom and dad's tomorrow but Eevee never made it back to her mom and dad's a couple of days later
as he's done so many times before he worms his way back into her life a few days after this Eevee called her adopted
parents Bernard and Ivonne because she was feeling increasingly unwell when she ringing up she had in
her head she had stomach flow Jordan took control of the situation he says don't worry I'll get
you the proper medication to look after you H are you through to nhs111 service it's SP on for the last few days and
could be possibly stomach FL she's not getting any better some witnesses will describe seeing a brown bottle a brown
medicine tablet type bottle with no label on it that he was seen giving e tablets also made appointments and then
didn't tell Eevee about the appointment and didn't take her over the next few days 23-year-old Eevee by now staying
with one of Monahan's relatives became more and more sick but she refused any offers of help from her family she'd
been ringing our house been ringing wife for three days since you were real and wife said look I'll come down say oh no
I've got an appointment doctor's coming to see me said look if you're not just ring an ambulance one be Hospital oh no
no no and then she'd be falling asleep while she up fallone and she gets progressively worse the Pain's terrible
on the 24th of October she's barely able to walk Jordan planned to go out for the
day to Wigan and during that time Eevee deteriorated significantly to the extent
that his family were phoning Jordan to say that she's really really poorly and he tried to put his family
off ringing the ambulance until until he arrived at at the address he arrived at the address the
ambulance were called and sadly Eve was pronounced deceased when the police attended reports of a
sudden death they were struck by Monahan's demeanor can't see any empty wrappers of packets for
medication give the medic was on the floor already took him as he has been at the death of his two
children Jordan Monahan is I see Cal doesn't seem all that dist urbed doesn't seem
traumatized he also indicated that on the days leading up to her death that she had intimated that she wanted to
commit suicide and showed text messages from ev's phone that suggested that she didn't want to
be here anymore this was the version of events Bernard and Ivon heard from thece
release that night about 10 10 at night she died some bad news for you your daughter dead she's stuck an off horse
went to go and identify her in Preston M it was very nice and then the morning after Bernard text me saying eeve is
dead now no she's not she's going to ring me today she's coming home he's like no Holly she's dead none of the
people close to Eevee Adams believe she would take her own life she good parent she good friend friends so no she had no
reason to commit suicide I honestly thought he'd done something to her I said to wife soon I said but he's done
so much it wasn't just Bernard who was having suspicions about Jordan Monahan lanasha police questioned Monahan's
version of events in the leadup to E's death and he was arrested on suspicion of giving Eevee the prescription drugs
they believed had killed her despite the Dreadful tragedy it provided an opportunity for the team of
police officers investigating the deaths of mahan's children the police link the
deaths together Ruby Logan and Eevee Adams the one common factor is of course Jordan
Monahan and so the same inquiry team took on both investigations Jordan's behavior during the interview with EV
was as it has always been very unot emotional matter of fact cocky confident I think he was convinced that
there was nothing going to come of the investigation and he was confident that he was going to get away with it Monahan
was released on bail once again while the police began what they knew would be the difficult task of proving what they
believed Mahan had done he was playing The Grieving partner posting it all over social media so we look like the victim
in it all when it come to the funeral he wanted to run everything monam was told
in no uncertain terms that he would not be attending Eve's funeral that didn't stop him engineering a bizarre Discovery
at her home Eve instigated he and Eve's friend going through some of Eve's belongings it got
her around to decide which for to to put it coughing there's a picture from that
bought um and there was a picture within the frame and he opened the back of the
pcture frame up and showed the friend there was a note in the back of the pcture frame and it was a type note gave
the appearance that it was a suicide note that Eevee had written and there was a signature on the bottom signed by
Eevee it looked like Eevee had indeed taken her own life as Monahan claimed detectives suspected how however that it
could be proof that something even more Sinister had taken place they called in forensic linguistic consultant Dr
Isabelle picornell I was contacted by the Lancashire police in March 2020 to conduct an authorship analysis
on a note of disputed origin so I was asked if I could determine whether or not Eevee Adams was
the author of this note our suspicions were immediately aroused by the fact that it
was a tight written note it was in the back of a picture frame this signature looked like it had been
photocopied I was provided with samples of e Adam's linguistic style from formal
letters she had written to the police to pages from her diary as well as other writings that the police had discovered
and what I did find is that e Adam's style was stable across her writings she always did certain things and never did
other things I then did the same linguistic profiling of the suicide note and what I did find was that it didn't
agree with the patterns in Evee Adams material if Eevee did not appear to have written the note the next task was to
find out if their suspect had I then turned to Jordan onan's material and I did the same process I was provided with
two or three letters written by him and several excerpts from his Facebook postings the results of Dr P Cornell's
analysis were damning in my opinion the style of the note was closer to Jordan Monahan's style than to Eevee Adams a
further examin mination of the note for fingerprints there was no evidence of E's fingerprints on the Note but
Jordan's fingerprints were recovered Gathering expert evidence that Monahan had faked T's suicide note was another
step towards proving he deliberately killed her the next breakthrough came when they accessed his devices when the
police examined Jord Mon's phone they discovered that he's been a WhatsApp group searching for prescription
medication we've identified conversations between Jordan and other members of that group at that time where
he is trying to Source the exact medication that were found in eeve system cause of death was ultimately a
fatal toxic overdose of prescription medication which included am diam Tramadol amatrene and
zopiclone and all of those drugs were drugs that Jordan monhun on the days preceding her death he was actively
trying to Source by tracking where E's phone had been and where she had been in the days leading up to her death police
were also able to prove it was Monahan not Eevee who'd sent messages from her phone claiming to be
suicidal next they turned their attention to proving monohan had killed his children too
one of the problems confronting the police investigation is that they had to discover that Ruby and Logan had not
died from any kind of genetic problem that might have caused their sudden infant deaths investigators needed a DNA
sample for Logan Monahan and after painstaking efforts were able to track down a blood sample that had been taken
at Birth were ble to extract DNA profile from from that and do the relevant testing which essentially eliminated any
potential genetic disorder we were able to feel confident that there was no natural cause for the deaths of the
children by January 2021 the police and the crown prosecution service believed they had the body of evidence they
needed Jordan monan is charged with the deaths of his daughter Ruby aged 24 days
his son Logan aged 21 months and his girlfriend Eevee Adams aged 23 he was also further charged with two
further attempted murders and two child cruelties and he was remanded in custody
pending trial it was a welcome moment for Eve's loved ones he must have thought it took that long he must have
thought he got away with it in October 2020 1 Jordan Monahan goes on trial at Preston Crown Court for the murders of
Logan Ruby and Eevee Adams it was the first time Bernard Adams had laid eyes on the man accused
of killing his daughter Eevee the trial we went every single day I knew we were I've seen him but I'd never never met
him or anything Pauline stables and her team were confident the case they had built
was strong enough to convict the main evidence supporting Jordan Mon and being responsible for the murders of his two
children and Eevee was the fact that he was the sole person in control of the situation during each collapse and also
at the time of each individual's death the prosecution put forward their theories about how the two children had
died medical experts on reviewing all of the information came to the conclusion that the only explanation is likely to
have been an obstructed herway on the witness stand 30-year-old Jordan Monahan became His Own Worst
Enemy Monahan gave evidence throughout the trial and again was cocky arrogant essentially just accused all of the
witnesses as lying showed no remorse showed no emotion he was just just a horrible horrible
animal you can't know wrong and you can't prove him wrong most importantly when he was
giving evidence talking about reliving the last moments of his children's lives no emotion whatsoever you know and you
compare that to how hard it was for Laura to talk about those times and talk about the deaths of her children he
showed absolutely no emotion whatsoever after a 10 week trial the jury retired to
consider their verdict they deliberated for 6 days very nervous about the outcome we
obviously felt that we had put the absolute best possible case forward that we could that the evidence was strong
but ultimately it's a decision for the jury and on the 17th of December 2021 Jordan Monahan is actually found guilty
of all three killings it was overwhelming I think everybody was relieved Justice for the
children and for Eevee was ultimately our main aim and our goal and justice for Laura and for Eve's
family and it was it was a relief Monahan is given three life sentences with him a minimum term of 40 years the
Home Secretary appealed to the court of appeal in relation to the sentence in the fact that it was felt that it was
unduly lenient and indeed the court of appeal then decide that it was unduly lenient and monan is given three life
sentences but with a minimum term of 48 years no less than he deserved the verdict and the sentence
brought some measure of Justice ice for Eevee Adams's grieving family and friends as well as for the mother of
Ruby and Logan Mahan after the verdicts and the sentencing Laura gray said and it's impossible not to
feel moved no punishment would ever be enough what he did was beyond human understanding
Laura gray says poignantly that she hopes one day to have another family I will always be a mom she said
after manan's conviction it's all I ever wanted and Jordan can't take that away from me the outcome of the trial was a
Vindication for the police officers who'd left no stone unturned a d dangerous man who presented a risk to
