I'm Bill schroer I was the Headmaster at Petoria boys high school during the time
that Oscar pus was a student there I just liked what I saw I understand he came to your attention more when his
running career took off later in the school years do you remember anything before that what kind of kid he was I
mean I've often been asked you know was what sort of boy was he and and the fact
that he never ever entered my space in 3 and a half years you know indicates that
there was never anything unto tell me about the first time you saw Oscar run you know he he was never an athlete at
the school he took part in everything he injured his knee playing rugby and part
of the rehabilitation which was done at the high performance center was to get onto a track and run and that's when it
all just it just happened and what was it like watching him run watching him saw little bit s of mind-blowing in a
way I mean it was something that was you know so different to anything we'd ever
seen before and he became famous while still at school how did you handle that that's that was the challenge that's
when I got to know him really well did he see himself as different no but he was certainly enjoying the sudden
meteoric rise to F and who wouldn't how did you feel when you saw him run in the
Olympics hugely proud obviously very very thr
