Scholarship honors Lizzi Marriott's legacy, love for marine life | Forensic Files

[Music] Lizzy was vivacious she loved her friends and she was fun she was my best
friend we did everything together she and I used to do just the silliest things together just no Rhyme or Reason
she was so young and full of promise and um so excited to finally be on her career path going to school school for
marine biology she had been working on becoming a marine biologist for several years you know just it's such a vivid
memory of of you know her passion for you know teaching people about what she had learned she loved the Little
Critters around her you know you'd see her when she'd have a tortoise in her hand or a little turtle and you know be
putting it back on the brook side of our road she was you know more than just a a
a niece and when she asked to come live with us we were more than more than welcome to uh bring her into our home
and and and UNH was her dream school it has a wonderful marine biology program and that's where she really wanted to go
go get it she knew that you know to save some money and she did come with live with us no no eggs today she'd come
running through the kitchen you know oh I got my big trip couple minutes later I
she comes running back in the back door and she's like I need boots I can't came
home later that night and it was the note saying that her her lab partner had fallen in the water and she had to
rescue her and the boots got wet she was so sorry oh sorry and the big sad face and stuffed the boots with newspaper and
all that that that's just Lizzy that's what Lizzy does one of her classmates waited out
too far in the title pool and fell in and so Lizzy trumped out to the title pool you know no no hip waiters on it's
October it's cold almost got pulled in and then you know saved her classmate and brought her back
out you know she's gone you know she's never coming back and you need to somehow find a way
to go forward I believe that the fund is the closest we can get to giving her a legacy we
have our own memories and our own thoughts and the foundation or the the fund itself allows us to reach out and
help other people and the caliber of the people are so like Lizzy hardworking doing good in school volunteering
outside of the school and within the school to do something they believe in and it it feels really good to be
involved in helping someone else do something that you know Lizzy would have done had she been
