When he was alone, it sounded like he was finally about to tell the truth. Everyone in the case of Cole Thomas who
went missing is saying the same thing. I don't know what happened, but investigators and Cole's family don't
believe that because there are too many people, too many moving pieces, too many
moving phones, too many lies. So, Cole's dad Chris made the toughest decision, something that most people could never
imagine doing. He helped bail out one of the suspects, not to protect him, but to
isolate him. And the idea was to get him away from the others and then maybe he would finally start talking. And that's
when Cole's mom came to play her part. She sat down with this guy T.J. She doesn't accuse him, she doesn't yell at
him, she just wants to know what happened to her son. And T.J. gives her the most that they've gotten to date. He
tells her he's gone. When they asked what they did with him, T.J. just says he's gone. And that is the closest that
they have gotten to the truth, but that's where it stops. And that's the pattern in this case. People will talk,
but only to a point. But someone, multiple people, someone's probably know what happened to Cole. They just won't
say it.

After Christopher “Cole” Thomas disappeared in North Carolina in 2016, investigators and his family became convinced that multiple people knew more than they were saying.

Hoping someone might finally tell the truth, Cole’s father helped bail one of the men connected to the case out of jail so he could be separated from the others. Later, during a conversation with Cole’s mother, the man told her only this: “He’s gone.”

For Cole’s family, it was one of the closest moments they’ve had to someone acknowledging what happened to their son. But no one has ever fully explained where Cole went or what happened that night.
