it's a case as big as the state of Texas in the summer of 1976 Fort Worth was shaken by a notorious crime an ambush at
a lavish mansion that left two people wounded and two people dead one of them was a child the case became known as the
mansion murders fast forward 40 years I'm Jordan Kinsey and I worked on this case for this week's 48 hours from
my bubble New York City why would I care about a case that is more than 20 years
older than I am well with every call I made it was amazing to me that after all these years people are still talking
about it debating what really happened that summer night so long ago and is still every bit as
polarizing at the time oil tycoon Colin Davis and his wife Priscilla were in the
midst of a bitter divorce Priscilla had taken up with a former basketball player
Stan far on that night in August Priscilla and Stan came home from a night out on
the town and walked into an ambush according to Priscilla a man dressed in black and wearing a wig shot
her and Stan in the panic and gunfire two friends arrived at the Mansion Bubba gaval was shot and
paralyzed and Beverly bass ran for her life police later discovered the body of Priscilla 's 12-year-old daughter Andrea
in the basement when it was over Priscilla and Beverly both identified Cullen Davis as the man in
Black Cullen was arrested and with an estimated worth of $500 million became one of the richest men in
America ever tried for murder Cullen Davis denied having anything to do with a crime and hired the best lawyer money
could buy Richard racehorse Haynes you always have uh something to work with when you have an innocent man but
former prosecutor Jack Strickland said Cullen's Fortune at the time could not be ignored I don't think we can
underestimate the effect that his wealth had after all these years the question still at the heart of this case is can
