Kelly Grew From the little girl who did not want to leave her mother's side and go to prek to the independent woman who
struck out on her own joined the army and became a combat medic she loved the feeling of her mom's soft pajamas and
she became the soldier who wore Comet boots and carried an M16 Kelly Bordeaux was an amazing young
woman who brought the entire community of fville and Beyond together and she gave us all a special kind of hope hope
for her return home hope hope that her family could find peace amidst the unknowing and hope that we could all
live life just as she did one day I had the headquarters plon approach me saying that special SPO
would be moving to headquarters I completely ignored her and marched straight to my Commander's
office I said sir I don't mean to be disrespectful but special spau is not moving to
headquarters the whole time I was voicing my opinion Captain neighbors had this perplexed look on his face and said
Lieutenant Davis calm down I was not tracking her moving anywhere she remains in your
platoon I laugh at myself for looking silly in front of my commander later on Kelly approached me
and said ma'am am I really am I really moving to headquarters I looked at her and said no and even if you want to I'm
not letting you go she just smiled as I Walk Away Kelly is the type of soldier that a
leader wants to maintain in their formation the kind that it's so okay to look Grazy in front of your boss
fighting for and I'm humbled that I was that leader for her before I could introduce myself she
came up to me with her thousand wat smile and introduced herself from that moment on we became
family it was freezing in North Carolina way too cold for us Florida girls our winter clothes consisted of a hoodie and
foot flops everyone would look at us weird and we just agreed it was a Florida thing her goal was to be an officer what
a crazy idea I know I tried to convince her not to go to the dark side she just laughed she would have made amazing
officer and I would have gladly saluted her our last memory together was that Friday I couldn't run due to severe
blisters that I received on my I got on my feet I saw Kelly later that day and she came up to me saying it was okay
because she had them on to do a blister she said we're twins she said we had baby feet from the
foot flops we wor growing up heaven received the most beautiful angel I can't wait to meet her again but
every day I tell her to sa me a seat on the beaches of heaven so we can be together
again she was a soldier a medic a panther and best of all she was my friend
