we're called on a on a man down and he was walking to his car and was approached by an unknown suspect and an
altercation occurred gunshots were fired and he is deceased from gunshots my name
is Mike mcleland I'm the uh criminal district attorney for Kaufman County the state of Texas and especially my office
has suffered a devastating loss today we lost a really really good man he was an
excellent friend and a spectacular prosecutor he will not be easily replaced we are progressing on the
investigation we have uh many resources from DPS ATF FBI all surrounding agencies anything that you people can do
to accelerate getting our hands on this scum will be appreciated and as far as something like this happening I've been
doing this 43 years and uh I've never never experienced this I hope that the people that did this are watching
because we're very confident that we're going to find you we're going to pull you out of whatever hole you're in we're
going to bring you back and let the people of caufman County prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law
