A “revolving door of stars” at Pikes Hotel | Forensic Files

yeah Pike's hotel with Fame you know was it was a unique hotel when you stayed in
touch you knew you were in pikes you knew you're in this special place it was unique every room was special so they
had attracted all different sorts of people you know whether it be Frank Zappa Julio iglesia wham George Michael
Spandau Ballet and of course Freddie Mercury he had his 40th birthday party there but
there were so many stars that came through the hotel it was like a revolving door of stars how would you
describe your dad at the bike so tell what was he like Calvin what are your thoughts when you think back and well I
think back of my father going back to my first memories of him and growing up with a character that was larger than
life he was a very very adventurous and very tenacious man he wasn't frightened of let's say tackling many things and
incredibly charismatic good-looking and yeah I think it's his charisma that really managed to bring people the first
time for instance that Julio Glaser turned up he arrived at the hotel my father was on top of the ladder changing
a light bulb and Julio walked in and he said I'm looking for Tony Pike and my father on
top attorney Pike and Julio done said I'm gonna like you because there was a naturalness about him there was a real
person as as opposed to let's say someone pretending to be someone else so yeah he was actually a very affable
person yeah very charming cheeky smart made sure people had a great time absolutely I think he was really he was
trying to deal with people as humans as opposed to stars [Music]
